- 2trkpony, on 02/11/2008, -1/+2I would rather the new platform change read "We will not ever support military intervention in a foreign country **AT ALL** under any precedent whatsoever, unless direct, up front, exhaustive peace-keeping negotiations are attempted FIRST to the fullest extent of our available resources in effort to fully avoid deadly war at all costs." "We will not support bombing and slaughter of sovereign nations, put our loyal military at risk, and put the lives of innocent civilians at risk unless we have explored every single avenue for peace, until we have exhausted all of our collective bargaining powers to the fullest extent, until we have attempted mediation process, negotiation strategy, and attempt to reach conclusive, mutually beneficial agreement. "We need to discover the root cause of our "enemies" aggression and hatred first, understand why they are our enemies, we must open honest talks with them out of reason, and make every attempt to mutually understand and work together towards amicable solution FIRST, before any remote thought or reason to declare constitutional, congressional declaration of war is ever considered, much less on option."
"War and military invasion is strongly encouraged to be avoided at all costs PERIOD. We are a nation of peace, not war"
Words to that effect :)
***** war what is it good for anyway. Absolutely nothin', say it again.
