- NeoConned08, on 08/28/2008, -53/+376and NOBODY is listening. Ron Paul's book Foreign Policy of Freedom is an EXCELLENT read on what exactly the US has been doing abroad for multiple decades now. We have neither the money nor the Constitutional authority to be in ANY of these places we've been in and we instigate hatred towards ourselves. Americans shouldn't be the least bit surprised when we are attacked for meddling in the affairs of others.
- Bossobass, on 08/28/2008, -47/+358I've come to the conclusion that Americans hate the idea of prosperity.
1/2 of our federal budget goes to military spending, all of which is borrowed
from private bankers who Congress handed over the right to create US money
to and agreed to pay these banksters interest for the "Loans".
The US military then goes around the world defending corporate monopolies
in the name of US interests, paid for by loans of our own currency that are
created out of thin air, for which we pay $3 BILLION A DAY in interest payments,
stolen from the labor sector through the income tax.
Congress has the exclusive right to "coin money and regulate the value thereof".
They have the option to buy back the Federal Reserve at the original sale price
of $420 million, which would pour those interest payments directly back into the
Treasury, instead of into the coffers of a privately held corporation of crooks.
Abolish the Fed (and its usury interest charges for the money Congress should
be in charge of at zero interest), bring our troops home to defend the US and stop
Congress from spend trillions they don't have to spend, and...
We would instantly become the most secure and most prosperous nation in history.
Congressman Paul, I salute you, sir. Why you aren't the landslide choice for POTUS
is a question that the entire world will soon ponder in grief. - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -36/+215Obama has already said he'd be expanding the occupation of Afghanistan, and has never even hinted that he'd shut down the permanent occupation bases in Iraq. The Democrat-Republican Party is unified on this point.
- Cybrwolf, on 08/28/2008, -65/+242Dugg, for a morning heaping helping of truth!
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -71/+222OBushma or McSame isn't a choice it's just lame.
Ron Paul has been the sole voice of reason on this issue and the GOP smeared him and sidelined him.
Time to elect a third party president and stop this merry-go-round of liars. - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -43/+182The 'REAL MAVERICK' IN POLITICS! Ron Paul.
- cabdirazzaq, on 08/28/2008, -48/+180Ron Paul back on the front page? Is digg finally coming to its senses?

- hautediggity, on 08/28/2008, -28/+122here's a candidate that doesn't need talking points to stay on message, or a speech writer to provide him w/zingers or "red meat" to make his point. he speaks the truth that every other politician wouldn't dare say in public or on the record. & yet, he's the one who gets labeled as a nut.
yea, getting out of the mess this country is in is a bat sh*t crazy idea, indeed. what a loon. - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -28/+111I was considering voting for Obama, but then he voted for FISA: I was like, NUH-UHHH!!!!
- Infidelcastr0, on 08/28/2008, -16/+98If the Republican party had any sense or integrity, Ron Paul would have been their standard-bearer.
- kemp34, on 08/28/2008, -28/+107Do not vote for the corrupt two party duopoly corporate/foreign puppet candidates.
Vote third party. - sindex, on 08/28/2008, -28/+106Holy crap that was the best 3 minute segment I've ever seen with Ron Paul. You could actually see and hear him get fired up towards the end. Excellent.
- txmom4ronpaul, on 08/28/2008, -23/+99I noticed Biden kept saying Obama will pull out 'combat troops' from Iraq, but what about those who will have to stay behind to run the 14 permanent bases we've built and to guard our new embassy, which is as big as the Vatican? He also wants to commit more forces to NATO (UGH!) for the efforts in Afghanistan. It's just a shell game!! Why is the debate always over which countries to invade and how we can best help them achieve 'democracy'? Why is the debate never over whether or not we should have 700+ bases in 130+ countries around the world in the first place?
- CMoore66, on 08/28/2008, -18/+90There is nothing new under the sun. Go back and read about how WWI got started and the events leading up to it. Study also the devastation it brought about. Then you will get a picture of what we are in for if we continue down this path. Ron Paul is the ONLY politicial who seems to know anything about history at all and he is trying to tell us something. I believe we would do well to at least pay attention.
- txmom4ronpaul, on 08/28/2008, -27/+96I'm ready to Rally for the Republic! The Republicrats are sounding more alike with each passing day. The new GOP Platform (apparently ignoring all comments on their 'interactive' website) will no longer call for drilling in ANWR or stopping birthright citizenship. The Dems are starting to sound like warmongers and they've always been big spenders. Where in the world is a conservative supposed to go these days to find a party that represents small government, low taxes, national sovereignty, property rights, sound money, the Constitution & the rule of law, and a non-interventionist foreign policy?
- pwnshaman, on 08/28/2008, -15/+83Funny how the status quo is quick to bury Paul. They hate to even hear him out because what Paul says is the truly disturbing truth about the current state of affairs. Its not that they won't listen, its that the status quo can't listen or it would be forced to change.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -11/+69I think defend our country but, mind our own damn business is a pretty good idea.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -13/+66Ron Paul: Change You Can Believe In.
- carter1955, on 08/28/2008, -30/+81Are your kid's prepared to pay for the failed policies that either Obama or McCain will
have on the American people, do you really care about your kid's and grandkid's,
I do and that is why I will write in Ron Paul for President - TamaraFaye, on 08/28/2008, -17/+67When they say 'change' they are referring to ending the "greatest experiment in history"- the United States of America....CHANGING toward Socialism and integration of the United States, Mexico, and Canada. What do American's have that residents of the E.U. do not? Property values, rights to travel freely, a written constitution, personal rights to privacy, and many other freedoms that some Americans are apparently taking for granted.
- ModernMindofM, on 08/28/2008, -3/+53I will be buried for this, but I'd like to mention it all the same.
No matter who you're voting for (or against) changing someone's name to ridicule them is just plain childish. It's the argumentative equivalent of am talk radio; nothing useful is heard because you're only doing it to snipe at the opposition.
Bleh... - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -8/+54Georgia wasn't a democracy.
- XanderDee, on 08/28/2008, -22/+67Dude Obama is pushing a 12 month troop draw down not a withdrawal. Get your cherry-picks right.
If you want to be nit picky about it then yes Obama is less evil than McCain, but the status quo remains.
1. America still fight in all the wars.
2. America will still have the Federal Reserve
3. America will still have income taxes that will increase
4. America will still have inflation
5. America will still have troops in 700+ bases all over the world
6. America will continue to go into debt
7. America will continue to face bankruptcy
8. America will continue to loose the Constitution.
With Ron Paul at least there is a chance to turn it around and have freedom and prosperity for all not just the elite few. - stienster, on 08/28/2008, -15/+58Funny that now they just can't get enough of having RP on their programs... now that he's off the ballot!
- LanceUppercut, on 08/28/2008, -3/+42Why in the ***** is this guy not our republican presidential candidate? Really, I would love to see a McCain vs Paul debate. It would be a slaughter.
- JDenigma, on 08/28/2008, -17/+56Keep at it Ron! Go get em!
- lolupissed, on 08/28/2008, -37/+75I love Ron Paul but realistically there is no way he is winning the presidency. These elections are a joke and controlled by MSM and corrupt politicians.
- voicce, on 08/28/2008, -33/+67Paul alone speaks the truth. Listen, we can still save this country.
- 0dnj0, on 08/28/2008, -9/+42Ron Paul is the ***** man...too bad he has been suppressed by the media
- mohsenxp, on 08/28/2008, -5/+38Obushma? Really?
- throop77, on 08/28/2008, -25/+58"Obama is pushing a 12-month withdrawal schedule"
Today he is. Before he was nominated it was immediate withdrawal; what will his position be when he is President? Who knows, he's a politician. - roddack, on 08/28/2008, -17/+48hmmm something tells me the Obama and McCain camps will avoid this like the plague or tell us to shut up because no one likes the truth.
- ironhide, on 08/28/2008, -18/+48"Who knows, he's a politician" and Paul is what? An anointed saint?
- simplyintricate, on 08/28/2008, -1/+29@dshPls, Food regulations are unnecessary in a free market, (regulations in general are not allowed in a free market or else it wouldn't be free). In the case of food being tainted or diseased, removal of government regulation does not harm the public's health. Instead, consumer groups (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Con ... will help ensure for the protection of our food supply.
For example, we can have the (imaginary) Harvard department of agriculture's stamp of approval on beef. With the stamp of approval, we are ensured that the meat is not diseased and free of tainted materials. Were a consumer group to find it diseased or tainted, that's where lawsuits come into play.
In fear of lawsuits, Harvard would ensure a strict policy of food safety. In addition to lawsuits, there is competition. Say Harvard's stamp of approval doesn't include organic food, but Stanford does. If a majority of consumers wanted organic food, Harvard would have to switch their business tactics. If Harvard was not living up to their standards, consumers can switch to Stanford, or whatever else is out there.
As for the USDA, it is a government bureaucracy, it is highly inefficient. If it gets sued, money comes from the taxpayer. It is a monopoly. They can be highly inefficient if they wanted to and they could be highly efficient if they wanted to. In general, they are inefficient.
There are some people who do not like how the USDA approves of food. They allow certain chemicals to be put into our food. Going back to my example of competition, people could choose another company's approval stamp. However, the USDA has nearly no competition and thus, we're locked in.
I hope this helps you see better into Ron Paul's idea of striping away food regulations. - SoulDesigner, on 08/28/2008, -21/+49yes it's sad that only 1% of people can think for themselves
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -9/+37Obama has absolutely no intention of pulling out of Iraq completely. He plans to leave permanent bases in Iraq and maintain our presence there indefinitely. And, neither McCain nor Obama would ever question why we have military posts and bases in over 170 (yes over ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY) countries around the world. Different? I don't think so.
Before you go claiming "well we broke it, now we have to stay there and fix it", I must remind that that that was the same argument used after WWII and the Korean war, which led to US bases being built in Japan, Germany, Korea and elsewhere. And guess what? We're still there. Is there a justification for why we're still there? NO. Who's paying for it? YOU. - jasoninoakland, on 08/28/2008, -13/+40Eisenhower warned about the military-industrial complex at the ending of his presidency. He was right.
However, the reality is that you're stuck with 2 candidates (Ron Paul isn't one of them). One that has a military-only background that favored the Iraq war, and one that doesn't have a military background and that didn't favor the Iraq invasion. Which is more likely to launch another war - against, Iran, for example - to cement his legacy into the history books (and bankrupt the nation doing so)? - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -3/+30Don't confuse Republican with Neocon.
- inactive, on 08/28/2008, -8/+35Hurry up,get your ticket!
9721 - inactive, on 08/28/2008, -78/+105Grr, it makes me angry that Ron Paul would just cherry-pick facts like that. The truth is that McCain favors prolonged occupation in Iraq, while Obama is pushing a 12-month withdrawal schedule. McCain advocates being tough and forceful with threats like Iran and North Korea. Didn't you hear him during the Faith Forums? When asked how he wants to deal with "evil", he said, "destroy it" with absolutely no hesitation. Obama, on the other hand, is saying that the U.S. needs to use diplomacy and talks.
Geez, Ron Paul wouldn't acknowledge ANY difference between the two. And you supporters say that he's 100% truthful? - neuroticfish, on 08/28/2008, -6/+33"He who would sacrifice liberty for security deserves neither." - Benjamin Franklin
- pwnshaman, on 08/28/2008, -6/+31Absolutely not true. Paul would leave almost every social issue to the states, unlike both Obama and McCain who would mandate policy from the federal level.
- Demener, on 08/28/2008, -7/+31Same here, looks like I'll be voting RP regardless of his chances to win.
- scarysnow, on 08/28/2008, -0/+23seriously, how it went from pro-Paul to pro-Obama...nothing alike about these guys.
