- Drkboarder, on 11/11/2007, -37/+184Digg is Paul's newsground (word?), deal with it. We talk about him all the time on here because he gets so little coverage elsewhere. The people who are really spamming are the ones saying "Ron Paul Spam!", etc.
Good for Paul. Competition is always good. - danconia, on 10/10/2007, -10/+102Great... 30k people doing nothing but voting on internet polls...
No seriously our MeetUp group has like 200+ people in it and a whopping 10 or so actually come to the events. These volunteers will pay the price for their laziness. No joke. I've been making signs and participating in rallies and whatnot but the other 90% of people in our MeetUp groups don't do jack squat. Get the ***** off your asses and into the streets! - big3fan, on 10/10/2007, -36/+118It's a growing grass root movement that can't be stopped....our meet up group grow from 10 to 31 members in three weeks....go Ron Paul
- thecoolestguy, on 10/10/2007, -15/+85Ron Paul will not single handedly turn the U.S. into a utopia, but I believe that if he is elected, and his message of liberty and constitutionally sound government takes hold, America will experience another golden age, far greater than any it has experienced in the past.
- airwalkery2k, on 11/11/2007, -11/+76Of course it's clearly just like, two people volunteering 15,000 times and doing the work of 30,000 men combined.
I mean, the mainstream media even told me that Ron Paul's buzz is the result of an elite hacker group on the interweb. - thechitowncubs, on 10/10/2007, -27/+92Ron Paul 2008 baby, its a revolution.
- rycodge, on 10/10/2007, -8/+63I burned a Ron Paul 2008 DVD for a 62 year old coworker the other week. This last weekend he got the chance to watch it as well as the debates. Monday morning he asks me "Hey, can I get 20 of those DVD's you have?".
My coworker (used to be a janitor and is now in maintenance) is 62, very conservative and tells me "Thank god for the internet, you just cant trust the mainstream media anymore". The mainstream media has to be scared ***** of people tuning into Ron Paul. - overlord11, on 10/10/2007, -14/+63How come the people who scream "Ron Paul spam" on digg aren't kicking and screaming about how the MSM spams the candidates they want to win to the entire world? Especially as they all happen to be members of the CFR and don't care about the constitution.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -15/+62the war is on between the ron paul spammers and the bury brigade. Who will win?
- justinjstark, on 10/10/2007, -19/+61Woohoo! I just got home from watching Ron Paul speak in Council Bluffs, IA.
- jeffiek, on 10/10/2007, -1/+41Don't be upset. It's normal in ANY voluntary organization that 10% do most of the work.
- Scaryclouds, on 10/10/2007, -7/+41Well part of supporting him now is to get his name out there so he will get nominated.
As is its a bit stupid asking for our second choice over a year from election day, a lot will happen between now and then. - thecoolestguy, on 11/11/2007, -5/+35That's exactly the type of attitude that has propelled him to where he is. There is nothing wrong about being passionate about the Constitution of the United States. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise.
- pgarin, on 10/10/2007, -6/+36Anything that will make the "status quo" stop, stand up and take notice, is a good thing. I have never been more at odds with what's been going on in Washington. I've never seen personal liberties and the respect that other nations once had for the United States, and it's people so seriously eroded. I just hope people wake up soon enough.
- Jesse, on 11/11/2007, -22/+50Who are you guys going to vote for in the general election when he doesn't get nominated? Going to write him in?
- justinjstark, on 10/10/2007, -25/+52Translation:
"More than 20,000 to more than 30,000"
"29,999 to 30,001" - tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -13/+40The bury brigade is a myth, just like the Ron Paul spammers. At worst, the "Ron Paul spammers" are just over-enthusiastic supporters. As for the bury brigade, it's what idiots use as an excuse when their 9/11 conspiracy crap is debunked and buried off the front page by reasonable Diggers.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/10/2007, -3/+29"Knee-jerk I hate Bush crowd?" You mean, like 70% of the country? Get a clue. Then try watching something other than Fox.
- batshitcrazy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+30This upcoming weekend's Iowa Straw Poll is very important! If you live in Iowa, please go vote!
http://www.ronpaul2008.com/events/iowa-straw-poll - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -10/+35Where do I sign up???
- Livewire, on 10/10/2007, -9/+33what happened to Mike Gravel?
- jimmiss, on 10/10/2007, -9/+33I think all the people that say all of the polls are bots are right. I bet all the volunteers are robots as well. I for one welcome our new Ron Paul robotic overlords!
- gwss76, on 11/11/2007, -2/+26Here are some "Ron Paul Facts" that you may not have heard:
1. Ron Paul is a reincarnation of Thomas Jefferson.
2. Ron Paul doesn't go the gym. He stays fit by exercising his Bill of Rights.
3. Ron Paul delivers babies without his hands. He simply reads them the
Constitution and they crawl out in anticipation of freedom.
4. Ron Paul has no alarm clock, but instead wakes every morning to the
call of freedom.
5. Ron Paul was raised in the wild by a pair of American bald eagles.
6. Ron Paul doesn't cut taxes. He kills them with his bare hands.
7. Ron Paul lives in a house made of integrity.
8. Ron Paul doesn't sleep. He deliberates.
9. I just saved a bunch of money by switching to Ron Paul.
10. If you pull Ron Paul's finger, a band will march by playing Yankee Doodle Dandy.
GO RON GO! - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24It's encouraging news, but the REAL litmus test will be the first few primaries. Can all this grass roots effort turn into votes? Come Super Tuesday though, it might be all over or just beginning.
- spyd3rweb, on 10/10/2007, -3/+24The grass is on fire baby!
- PIR4T3, on 10/10/2007, -15/+36Plain and simple. People hear his message and they start backing him as Dr, Paul said "Freedom is popular"
If you see this as spam then you truly are a brain washed corporate puppet with the few brain cells TV has not sucked out of your head please stop take a deep breath and realize what we are doing here is important . Participating in the last throws of a free America to save her while there is still time. - kestrel127, on 10/10/2007, -11/+31But...But...But 9-11!!!!11!11one
- brufleth, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21@ mdhauke
Are you comparing a candidate for the presidency of the United States who is for smaller and weaker federal government to a genocidal totalitarian German leader who instigated WWII over half a century ago?
WTF is wrong with you? - netsql, on 10/10/2007, -12/+30+1, I just donated.
- Jonsblckhwk, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19I will write him in or vote for kucinich. I don't agree with democratic spending. I don't agree with paying taxes so some kid whos 30 and still living with his parents with no job can go to college when i can't even stop working long enough to take more than a few classes and barely get by on my own as it is. I am so sick the republican and democratic fear mongering and the support for needless death as a result of our "spreading democracy." I just want to get my damn paycheck and enjoy my life without having to worry about getting drafted because our military is stretched so thin that our nation is vulnerable to attack by any country other than iraq. I'm not scared of being attacked by iraq or terrorists. I'm scared of getting attacked by an opportunistic nation whom knows that our military is stretched too thin. A bunch of drug runners with stolen guns and homemade rockets isn't going to get into America. Not with all the civil liberties i have given up...
- Griffology, on 10/10/2007, -4/+21Ya that's all he wants to do. Why don't you at least google his name and see what he's been doing for over 30 years now.
- ktibuk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19I am Turkish and not even a resident of the US. I am a foreigner, so legally I can not donate to Ron Paul campaign.
I opened an adwords acount in google and pay for ads instead leading Americans to his website so that they can learn abaout him and maybe donate. I recommend the same thing to all foreigners including Canadians that support Ron Paul.
Those of you wondering what the hell a foreigner care about the next president of the US should listen to Ron Pauls message again. . - Jonsblckhwk, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17Ron Paul is against any government regulation of the internet which would leave too much room for corruption which is already too big of a problem in our government.
- Zarxrax, on 11/11/2007, -3/+19I've taken the time to discuss the issue with other Ron Paul supporters, and I think I've changed my views on Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality regulation merely treats the symptom, not the problem. The problem is monopolies controlling much of the broadband in the country. In a free market with more choices, net neutrality wouldn't really be an issue.
- jimmiss, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22I don't know, but a 10,000 and 50% increase in 7 days HAS to be alot.
- NeutrixX, on 10/10/2007, -6/+22Living in Canada, I must say that from what I read... Ron Paul is amazing. His ideas are based within the founding tenants of what the American Forefathers had in mind when they wrote the Constitution for the U.S.A. Freedom, liberty, and justice. Please spread the word about Ron, and get out the vote. You guys need someone to shake up the status quo down there, and this man is the one to do it. All of his interviews are filled with priceless little jems of wisdom. Those on the right and left should demand someone with Ron Paul's character. The day we get a candidate that has as much guts as he does up here, is a day I look forward to being Canadian.
- dmgordon, on 11/11/2007, -3/+19And no one will ever win a Republican primary for the House of Representatives when a past Republican president, the state's Republican governor, the NRA, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and both of the state's (Republican) senators all campaign against him. As sure as you're breathing.
Oh, wait. Ron Paul himself did exactly that in 1996. - wvernon1981, on 10/10/2007, -2/+17So this is a bit of an us versus them battle to you? Rather Marxist in my opinion. I thank God for businessmen. Businessmen are what makes this country grow. How do you make money if you are not in business? Get rid of the businessmen, then we all need to make money on our own. Guess what. That makes us all businessmen then. I can say more on this but it'll be long winded.
In answering your question though, I do believe we'd all be better off under a Ron Paul administration. He wouldn't be influenced by special interest groups or big businesses trying to grant themselves a greater market share and unfair advantages over the competition. He would work hard to return power to the states that has been unconstitutionally coerced by the Federal government, making it much harder for us to influence our law makers. He wouldn't be so quick to put us into bullheaded wars and sacrifice the lives of our soldiers for misconceived foreign policies. There are many other reasons as well. - facelesscoward, on 10/10/2007, -4/+19Umm, no. That's not "all Ron Paul wants to do." He's a pretty radical free market guy. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but you can't deny that he wants some massive changes (de-regulation of pretty much everything, disbanding the IRS, etc.).
- iloveGod08, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15I think this is the only presidential nominee who will make anything in this country change for a greater good.
- armbar, on 10/10/2007, -4/+181. Against Roe vs. Wade because it's federal invasion of either a personal decision or state decision.
2. Foreign policy plans are only horrifying because it's the only logical way out of the quagmire we're currently in.
3. I think you've been anti-educated. He's against a federal Board of Education because it's ineffective and sucks down a lot of money.
4. You think there's that much difference in the 2 main parties these days? P.S. he's actually Libertarian.
5. No he's not, you've just managed to misinterpret what he's said somehow. - tim04, on 10/10/2007, -7/+21Is 30,000 considered a lot?
- Zarxrax, on 10/10/2007, -5/+19I heard the Ron Paul buzz is all generated by some legion called Anonymous.
- zenlunatic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15To a couple folks in this thread: if Ron Paul's views are so off-base and his supporters so whacked-out, why does he hold an elected position in the United States government?
- Commonwealth, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15It'd be great if there was a free and available DVD that you could download and burn showing Ron Paul's views. Most of my friends have no clue who he is and I think it's hard to tell his views without sounding preachy after a while. Handing them a DVD that they could watch on their own would be perfect.
- rycodge, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15http://thepiratebay.org/tor/3728002/RON_PAUL_2008.iso Awesome DVD which you can download and burn showing Ron Paul's views. Just need bit torrent.
- undergrace, on 11/11/2007, -0/+13Growing up I was never passionate about politics. I didn't vote, I didn't care. My ex-boyfriend turned me on to Digg (he is a computer nerd, I think it's adorable) and I created my own account. Coming to this site has really opened my eyes to what is going on in the American government, and quite frankly, I'm pissed. I'm a Republican but am totally appalled by the direction Bush has taken our country and find myself lining up with Libertarianism more and more. I probably never would have even heard of Ron Paul (because I would not watch the debates) if it wasn't for Digg. Sure, he might be the "Digg mascot" or whatever, but he's certainly getting my vote when the primaries come due to his platform and vision. I am impressed with Ron Paul, not only as a candidate, but as a human. I don't see eye-to-eye 100% with him, but he's the only guy I trust to undo all the damage Bush has done. He might be second-tier, but his supporters are growing in numbers every day. Digg was the catalyst for me, and probably for many others. I'm excited to see where this election goes.
- nphase, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1830,000 Registered Volunteers? Guess that means he has 30,000 votes. Finally, a sizable start
- IanPatterson, on 10/10/2007, -11/+23I live in Canada, and I love Ron Paul 08
- jorazzle, on 10/10/2007, -3/+15I'm 21 years old and I'll be voting for him. And just yesterday, my GRANDMOTHER (70 yrs old) told me she has a Ron Paul bumper sticker.
