Ron Paul to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award
digg.com/people/Ron_Paul_to_Receive_Lifetime_Achievement_Award
Ron Paul, Republican congressman from Texas, is a candidate for the 2008 Republican president nomination. At the conference he will receive The Future of Freedom Foundation’s first-ever “Lifetime Achievement Award for Advancing Liberty.” While serving in Congress during the late 1970s and early 1980s, Dr. Paul’s limited-government ideals were not popular in Washington. He served on the House Banking committee, where he was a strong advocate for sound monetary policy and an outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve’s inflationary measures....

lol - sgiffy, on 05/01/2008, -25/+2lol. I love how a bunch of people who bitch about corporations, branding, taxes, etc taking all their money, have essentially been taken by a charlatan. Nice work guys.
- bohemianowl, on 05/01/2008, -2/+15yeah Ron Paul has been addicted to chocolate chip cookies for years. I bet he spent campaign money on them.
- brad3378, on 05/01/2008, -1/+7Om Nom Nom Nom
- sgiffy, on 05/01/2008, -15/+1Oh I'm sure the money from his race baiting, conspiracy theory laden, newsletters got him all the cookies he could want.
- kemp34, on 05/01/2008, -0/+2Sgiffy clearly has ZERO understanding of the most BASIC concepts of freedom - bro, we FREELY paid for the book out of our own rational decision making. Value for value, rook.
- Jammer, on 05/02/2008, -1/+1Yet you are part of the same pack of fools who go around stating that we don't have freedom and liberty, and that some old fool of a country bumpkin doctor from East Texas is going to make everything better. Unbelievable.

Maybe we should start a chip in and send a copy to every member of Congress!!! - jmpeagle, on 05/01/2008, -13/+2ok...I like Paul and all but I view suspiciously any book that has been out for a day, has 141 reviews on Amazon, of which 138 are 5 stars.
Does no one else have a problem with Paul's cult like following? It goes against the idea of libertarianism, which is supposed to remove personality cults from politics. If anything he should be viewed suspiciously as a politician. No politician deserves to be given the benefit of the doubt.- Stryder81, on 05/01/2008, -0/+12When they have a consistent record in the political arena for 30+ years on voting and speaking for the Constitution? I think that accounts for enough, don't you?
- dinsy, on 05/01/2008, -0/+7It ain't the man it's the message.
- stealthc, on 05/01/2008, -0/+7It's been available online for a few weeks now. I just finished it yesterday. Ron Paul has earned the benefit of the doubt, but doesn't need it; this book is fantastic. You must be one of those people who found out about him when he appeared in the presidential race. I've been a fan of his for years. The following appears cult-like because of our enthusiasm for the philosophy.
- kemp34, on 05/01/2008, -0/+4I admire Ron Paul as an individual who has consistently stood on principle. I have criticisms of him, but his pros full outweigh the cons. He is a man of character and integrity. Honoring such an individual as simply being a good man is in no way "cult like".
- charlesn12, on 05/01/2008, -0/+11This book is Ron Paul's Best works! I enjoyed every page of the book!
- safeshark, on 05/01/2008, -1/+15Why has this article been buried despite all it's Diggs? WTF is wrong with Ron Paul announcing his new book?
I'm getting sick of this Digg fascism. Why do they even need the "bury" feature anyways? It's not like lots of pointless spam would get dugg onto the front page or something! If they were to remove the "bury" feature the articles that people don't care about would stay near the bottom of the list. End of story.- quakefiend, on 05/01/2008, -2/+4well, considering Digg's founders go to Bohemian grove, it doesn't surprise me.

- stealthc, on 05/01/2008, -0/+7It is the job of every patriot to make the lives of tyrants miserable. Read this book, and get to it! Don't wait for orders!
- RonPaulNews, on 05/01/2008, -1/+7How can this not be popular???
This made popular 18 hours ago and it only now has 370 diggs:
http://digg.com/business_finance/Interview_with_Eb ... - SubVet, on 05/01/2008, -0/+5What an incredible read! Call your local library and request a copy and get everyone you know to to the same. There needs to be multiple copies of this in every library across the country.
- Jammer, on 05/02/2008, -5/+2A lame and poorly-written book about things we already have (liberty, freedom, etc.). By reading this book one would think we live in a repressive and authoritarian society in the U.S.; clearly, we do not.
The only one getting anything out of this is Ron Paul, thanks to all the losers and other strange individuals who buy this piece of tripe.
Did any of you ever wonder why Ron Paul has never had one piece of legislation enacted? Ever wonder why other reps laugh at him behind his back? Finally, you all do realize that John McCain will be the Republican presidential nominee, right?- cyndezu, on 05/02/2008, -0/+3Jammer, Maybe you should actually read it!
- adrianpn, on 05/02/2008, -0/+5I went to a book store in Penn Station, NY and got the last one!
- Publius99, on 05/03/2008, -0/+3Two recommendations for everyone who supports Ron Paul and his work:
1.) Buy extra copies of The Revolution to give to friends and coworkers.
2.) Read the material referenced in the book, especially the works of Austrian economists Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, Walter Block, and Thomas DiLorenzo. Austrian economics is the heart of Dr. Paul's philosophy. It's also through the Ludwig von Mises Institute that many of us became familiar with Dr. Paul to begin with.
www.mises.org - chimborazo, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0Those that may not or cannot recognize current reality with it's extreme loss of liberty & where this road is heading, either have their mind so far closed due to egotistical 'know-it-all-already; can't be taught-nothing' pride (i.e., so they never do any honest research), or they earn their bread & butter off the status quo & like it (a system which is an objectively parasitical system in truth). For some reason, nay-sayer's of Ron Paul's message are unwilling to give 'The People' legitimacy for fear of losing their current income stream, or afraid of losing their self-aggrandizement machine, or possibly even just because they love sucking the blood from other people, i.e., are a true psychopath (6% of the population are remember & they always seek positions of power). Saboteurs surely would then filter into this digg, so reader, beware of nay-sayers. Everyone can recognize the truth if being objective & when they always ask themselves, "what's this person gain by saying that? Are they being Service-to-Self or Service-to-Others with their intentions?". . .Let this be your guide & always choose STO.
