I love Ron Paul - jh4rms, on 03/08/2009, -38/+355Ron Paul is one badass mother *****...he has the balls to stand up to these pricks who just take and take and take from us. I love Ron Paul he truly is my hero.
- digitronix, on 03/08/2009, -35/+336It's funny that some people can listen to Ron Paul talk, and think what he's saying doesn't make perfect sense.
It just mystifies me. - ChelseaBlacker, on 03/08/2009, -26/+326Ron Paul, is exactly what the Republican party is supposed to be about. Cutting back on spending, my taxes, and the American empire. Libertarian principles rock!
- Tyrghast, on 03/08/2009, -12/+288I liked the Ron Paul spot on The Daily Show when Jon Stewart said "Ron Paul you are a man of honesty and integrity and... it seems the American people don't like that anymore."
- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -28/+231Ron Paul - The only politician who follows the constitution.
http://www.campaignforliberty.org - iloveobama, on 03/08/2009, -31/+211Mr. Paul, no one likes you anymore. Everyone loves Obama now. We don't want personal responsibility or the ability to decide our own fate, we don't want free markets or a society that embraces entrepreneurs - where anyone can go from poverty to being wealthy. We want a big nanny government that will print as much money as it wants and will make all of our decisions for us and be in every facet of our daily lives. Afterall, a bunch of old guys in Washington know best. Don't you understand that Ron Paul?
- funkedup, on 03/08/2009, -17/+187You're too human to run for the Republican party!
- leadfoot, on 03/08/2009, -21/+183Another one out of the park!
- hugolp, on 03/08/2009, -7/+159And more important: he votes what he promises.
- peestandingup, on 03/08/2009, -21/+171That was our chance at real "change", folks.
- bender240, on 03/08/2009, -10/+126It's amazing Ron would agree to this interview since I've been told he hates black people so much... in fact, he spoke to Hughley exactly like he does to everyone else... it's almost like he views people as individuals and not representatives of some collectivist notion of an interest-group. Weird.
- aston127, on 03/08/2009, -23/+126The civil war wasn't about slavery, it was about States Rights.
- wakeupsticky, on 03/08/2009, -14/+113It's easy for me to say "LOL you Ron Paul fanboiz," but he makes so much sense and I'll be paying closer attention to what he says in the future.
- imcostalong, on 03/08/2009, -13/+109I have much more respect for DL Hughley now.
- ievanssc, on 03/08/2009, -16/+103can someone tell me what DL Hughley is doing with a show on CNN? or in politics at all for that matter?
- Edge00, on 03/08/2009, -8/+91I like Ron Paul
- PacmanMafia, on 03/08/2009, -5/+78Why couldn't he have been the Republican primary... Just by describing the war in Iraq in a few sentences in the simplest, yet effective form for almost any American to understand is amazing! Why the ***** are we there blowing up bridges just to end up rebuilding them by no bid contractors? That was an "ah ha" moment for me. I'm somewhat ashamed that I couldn't see it that way. I laughed when DL said he was too human to be republican because it is true.
- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -12/+85So this is how liberty dies... with thunderous applause
- Blasphemous88, on 03/08/2009, -10/+82He's one of the last legitimate Republican politicians on Earth IMO. His views actually make sense and you don't get a huge whiff of the political talking points you get from the typical right wing interviewee. DL is right, he does make too much sense to be a Republican but this is only because the perception of the Republican party today is pathetic. When someone like Rush can even be considered a true voice of your party, you have serious problems. Ron Paul is the Republican all Republicans should aspire to be like.
I'm a Democrat that would have gladly voted Ron Paul in '08. - sheeplescareme, on 03/08/2009, -6/+71exactly. imagine a gov't ran by a guy who abides by the constitution, keeps his promises, is anti-war, and believes that people should be allowed to decide their own fate?
- Thinbev, on 03/08/2009, -4/+67It amazes me that the Obama supporters don't realize how much us freedom lovers care more about our civil liberties, the rule of law and ending the wars overseas than they do. We also care more about the poor than they do, because we understand that politicians do a terrible job at taking care of them...
Getting back to our founding principles of limited constitutional government and personal and economic liberty would be REAL change... - bradysbeau, on 03/08/2009, -8/+67The voice of reason....I will vote for him again given the chance....
- appleswitch, on 03/09/2009, -0/+53"Congressman Ron Paul. You appear to have consistent, principled, integrity. Ugh... Americans don't usually go for that. *audience laughs* You seem to practice what you preach, you seem to preach it consistently. Even though people might disagree with the message, they certainly can't argue that you're a man of consistent principles." -Jon Stewart
http://crooksandliars.com/2007/06/05/ron-paul-on-t ... - DatVillain83, on 03/08/2009, -1/+53it doesn't matter anymore, CNN just canceled his show.
http://punchlinemagazine.com/blog/dl-hughleys-cnn- ... - Kohaxx, on 03/08/2009, -1/+53That's the real reason to like Ron Paul. He's completely honest and up front about his position and uncompromising. I wish the GOP would die and be replaced with a party of his ideals so we could actually have a fiscally conservative party.
- Maksx, on 03/08/2009, -10/+62god i miss this guy
- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -8/+53I'm glad DL's not one of those people...And if he actually runs again and he's smart, Dr. Paul will hire DL as a campaign adviser just to piss off ol' NoLibs. (I KNOW this clip was torture for him!!)
- thegrantman, on 03/08/2009, -2/+46You're missing the sarcasm.
- maidaa, on 03/08/2009, -10/+51What you want?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_the_People_Act - Vega310, on 03/08/2009, -5/+45No, you'll get buried because you're a coward who is afraid to challenge the status quo even when it's ***** you in the ass. If they had your attitude in the late 1700's we still might be under British control.
Keep electing politicians that lie to you because it's easier than facing the problem ***** mindless sheeple. - InSearchOfTruth, on 03/08/2009, -27/+67How dare Ron Paul not support Comrade Obama's socialist agenda...HOW DARE HE!!!
- emazur, on 03/08/2009, -4/+43You can disagree with him on abortion (as I do) but remember that his wouldn't be outlawing abortion, he would leave it up to the states like it used to be. Here's an excerpt from his book "The Revolution" explaining what got him started on abortion during his medical residency at the University of Pittsburgh in the mid 1960's (pg 58-59):
"Residents were encouraged to visit various operating rooms in order to observe the procedures that were being done. One day I walked into an operating room without knowing what I was walking into, and the doctors were in the middle of performing a C-section. It was actually an abortion by hysterotomy. The woman was probably six months along in her pregnancy, and the child she was carrying weighed over two pounds. At that time doctors were not especially sophisticated, for lack of a better term, when it came to killing the baby prior to delivery, so they went ahead with delivery and put the baby in a bucket in the corner of the room. The baby tried to breathe, and tried to cry, and everyone in the room pretended the baby wasn't there. I was deeply shaken by this experience, and it hit me at that moment just how important the life issue was" - Seanathan, on 03/08/2009, -4/+42Speak for yourself, dude.. I voted.
- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -17/+54You want income equality? As in USSR?
- iceman0113, on 03/08/2009, -7/+424 years is a long ways away. But he's getting his name out there, so he'll have a huge fighting chance.
- inactive, on 03/08/2009, -7/+41Ron Paul has a better idea for a stimulus package than borrowing and printing money:
- Eliminate the income tax and replace it with nothing.
- Cut $500 billion from overseas expenditures, put half the money towards paying down the debt, and the other half towards infrastructure. - gutenpress, on 03/08/2009, -4/+38Dr. Paul isn't a politician ... he's a _statesman_. There is a difference.
- skinnyskittles, on 03/08/2009, -13/+47It's about a philosophy, not just power.
- icyfire111, on 03/09/2009, -1/+34Love him or hate him, Ronald Ernest Paul is the most principled man in DC.
- wonkavsn, on 03/08/2009, -10/+42I really love Dr. Paul, but there are certain issues that I disagree with him strongly on, particularly on the abortion issue.
Having said that, I would imagine that his stance on the issue comes largely from having been an obstetrician and isn't simply based on some loose Bible interpretation, which I can find a whole lot more respect for (the former). - anthropodeus, on 03/08/2009, -6/+38ron paul is exactly what the republican party WAS supposed to be about. it's not the same anymore.
- fugazied, on 03/08/2009, -3/+34Key word is supposed. Now they are the evangelical party, the authoritarian party, the war party, the corporate party.
- BaconIsGood4You, on 03/08/2009, -2/+33"My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery. If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that...." Lincoln August 22, 1862
Slavery was the greatest underlying motivator for the war, no doubt, but it certainly was not the cause. The issue was growing Northern economic and political power leading to policies abusive towards the South. The Emancipation Proclamation was a weapon to economically and socially wreak havoc upon the South. - method7670, on 03/08/2009, -2/+31Ron Paul is one of the conservatives I truly respect, he is very classy in his arguments, and will always respectfully disagree, and keeps true to himself, a very good politique.
This is coming from a liberal mind you. - quomen, on 03/09/2009, -1/+29This is the first time in a while I've seen conservative values get dugg up. Democratic/liberal fanboyism has been taken too far as of late on this website.
- Seanathan, on 03/08/2009, -3/+30The entire concepts of "stimuli" and "bailouts" are ***** anyway, are you serious?? I would certainly hope he'd vote to stop it.
- Enjoikr3w, on 03/08/2009, -6/+32So you're telling me his ideas to cut the ***** of worthless spending we do overseas and investing it back in our own country instead of using the stimulus package doesn't make sense?
