- JoeParanoid, on 11/09/2009, -4/+68Same old tactic: victimize while playing the victim.
- Anomaly100, on 11/09/2009, -5/+37I'm scared. I'm a Christian & now it's confirmed. My gay friends are going to kill meeeee!
These idiots are making all Christians look bad. Gee, thanks guys! - Firstdaughter, on 11/10/2009, -2/+30Wow, as usual the conservatives are really reaching... This just goes to show you that if you are demented enough, you could equate anything.
What are they so afraid of? If homosexuals are afforded the same rights as heterosexuals, I fail to see where this affects any heterosexual personally.
P.S. I sure am glad I live in one of the East Coast states where same sex marriages are legal! I'd hate to live in a state that would not allow my son equal rights. - ocean17, on 11/09/2009, -4/+31In all fairness, do these people have some funky Magic 8 ball with groups they don't like & violent verbs in it?
Matt Barber could find a lot of unchristian violence inspiring comments on Fox Nation - wonder what he thinks of those? - shedtroll, on 11/10/2009, -1/+26As a young member of the LGBT community my I just say this.
*Clears her throat*
99.9999% of the LGBT community is NOT, I repeat, NOT out to get you. Perhaps bash back (if you are unlucky) but they won't do much other than smash a couple of windows.
FFS Right wing christians would do ANYTHING to bash the LGBT community. - Joest23, on 11/10/2009, -3/+27I don't understand. Christianity, which has ruled a good portion of the world for the past 2,000 years and is the most widely practiced religion in the world, is being oppressed? THEY'RE the victims when THEY are the ones oppressing the gays? That is infuriating.
- Diefree, on 11/10/2009, -3/+26Nope because we don't follow a religion that supposedly preaches love then oppress people. I think we all know who the hypocrite here is David, and it's the guy that doesn't know what the word means. Now just run along before we all really embarrass you.
- Coven, on 11/10/2009, -4/+27No, he's talking about morons like you.
- Coven, on 11/10/2009, -5/+24Human rights? But they can just CHOOSE not to be gay. Just like DavidNiven can easily CHOOSE not to be straight, and just for a day, run around like a flamboyant little queen...
wait - Alheithinn, on 11/10/2009, -5/+24More craziness from conservative Christianity. This is the religion that claimed persecution while actively annihilating every alternative to itself for a period of better than 15 centuries (and killing millions in the process), the people who brought you the Crusades, Witch Trials, Forced Conversion, Conquistadors, Anti-Antisemitism and the Reconquista. Do we really believe anything they claim at this point?
- Coven, on 11/10/2009, -3/+22So, David...basically what you're saying is:
Tolerate my intolerance!!! - Paranor01, on 11/10/2009, -1/+19If Jesus came back today, his followers would kill him as being a socialist leftist long-hair hippie freak.
- j0phus, on 11/10/2009, -1/+18Coven, I think they call that day Sunday.
- Paranor01, on 11/10/2009, -3/+19@DavidNiven: Where's your tolerance and lack of hate?
Every place you post you are filled with hateful, judgmental tripe.
Go play with your dolls David, while the adults have a discussion. - Paranor01, on 11/10/2009, -4/+20@DavidNiven: Terrorism comes in all shapes and colors... as in the shape of a cross.
- futurepastnow, on 11/10/2009, -2/+18Christians, permanently persecuted in their own heads. Jesus would be so proud.
- Maddoktor2, on 11/09/2009, -3/+17May 15, 2007 was a day of celebration in Hell. One of their own had finally come home.
- sarajohnson3, on 11/10/2009, -3/+17I have know idea how people take this with a straight face on
- Diefree, on 11/10/2009, -4/+17It's about them being bigots and wanting to force their idiotic bigotry on all of us. Just like creationism and abortion they want to force everyone to follow their religion, and they're willing to lie, murder, and cheat to make it happen. They are simply a less violent version of the Taliban.
- Floobins, on 11/10/2009, -8/+21>attacking Christianity or conservative ideas get special algorithmic placement
We can only hope. - Paranor01, on 11/10/2009, -4/+16The religious !right-wing is no better than the Taliban. But they'll refute that comparison to their death (or yours).
And they can be as violent, or did all of those Doctors that perform abortions just blow themselves up? - carbonfilament, on 11/10/2009, -3/+15THIS JUST IN:
Radical bigoted right wing fringe group is radical and bigoted and right wing. - Diefree, on 11/10/2009, -2/+14I make a distinction between the real churches, that acknowledge homosexual rights, and the Christian right bigots. Unfortunately the bigots seem to be the ones making all the noise and giving Christians a bad image. If all Christians would stand up to the bigots like Rick Warren, Pat Robertson, and the rest then they could reclaim that peaceful image.
- oldhick, on 11/10/2009, -0/+11I just want to know how homosexual activists victimize others.
- RagManX, on 11/10/2009, -1/+10I have come to the conclusion that DavidNiven is a satire account gone bad. No real human being could possibly believe all these hateful ideas while claiming to be a christian, right? Right? Helllllooooooo? Please tell me this can't be a real human.
*le sigh* - Diefree, on 11/10/2009, -6/+14The right wing is simply calling LGBT what they are. The Christian right has proven they will lie, cheat, and murder the intimidate people into an American style taliban. George Tiller, the lies they put on tv in Maine and California, the threats against judges, and of course terrorist groups like Operation Rescue. These people should be ashamed, they are scum that want to deny equal rights to American citizens and make us all follow their fairy tale book. This of course is the same group that screams about the government being involved in their lives which also makes them hypocrites. It's time the supreme court did their job and ruled the same sex marriage bans as unconstitutional like they are.
- Landover, on 11/10/2009, -0/+8Yes, these are the same people who were cheering when a pro-life supporter charged into a church with guns blazing. Of course that wasn't terrorism, that was a '200th trimester abortion, lol'.
These people are soulless. Their tears are all vapo-rub, and their outrage is practiced in front of a mirror. - Propethic, on 11/10/2009, -2/+9Do you get paid to make comments like this about every single liberal article/news site? Do you really think you're swaying anybodies opinions?
- ApokalypseNow, on 11/10/2009, -1/+8@DavidNiven
Tell me, who have equal-rights proponents victimized lately? Name one person. - betobonix, on 11/10/2009, -4/+11Come on, gay terrorists? The gay movement is more about love than any christian church...
- askantik, on 11/10/2009, -0/+7That's pretty much why he as crucified, but somehow that point is lost on the Church.
- Paranor01, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6and prove their point. that's the problem with dealing with their hate filled paranoia.
it's a catch-22. don't shut them down, you advocate hate. shut them down, and it helps their paranoid point where it may implode into something more explosive.
what to do, what to do... - seala, on 11/10/2009, -0/+6You forget -some of us are socialist leftist long-hair hippie Christians
- Landover, on 11/10/2009, -1/+7Oh heck, they've blamed us for 9/11, Katrina, the Holocaust...the list goes on.
I don't think they've blamed us for the Titanic yet. - PhoebusAl, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5This is what they're calling a terrorist threat!?
“What I fear is that once gay and lesbian people give up hope of achieving equality through nonviolent means, there will be radicals who will begin to hunt down haters like LaBarbera and [National Organization for Marriage founder Maggie] Gallagher."
“All [it] will take is a small group of radical zealots who are willing to kill for their cause….”
He's saying that he's afraid that this could occur if non-violent means continue to fail. I think it's fairly clear that he's against any sort of violence. Leave it to the Christian Right to blow the whole thing way out of proportion to support their view. Regardless, Christian motivations have driven more violence and murder than gay rights activists could ever possibly hope to cause. - dsfjvhbd, on 11/10/2009, -2/+71.) register on the forums of your opponent, preferably with several names
2.) post ridiculous or violent comments there
3.) quote these comments in an email to your supporters.
(Alternatively to 1. and 2. just wait if some idiot shows up and posts what you need) - Diefree, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5I mean calling out the bigots as the hypocrites they are, stopping the support for any church that campaigns against gay rights. Actively seeking to get any Church that tries to force their religion into law's tax exempt status revoked.
- dsfjvhbd, on 11/10/2009, -0/+5The homophobic churches love to find comments like this one. Very useful for their next email.
- ApokalypseNow, on 11/11/2009, -1/+5@Paranor01
I don't think it is entirely genetic in nature - I think we've found that there are genetic predispositions, sure, but another large part of sexual orientation is the environment of the womb during the development of sexual characteristics. - dumptaker, on 11/10/2009, -1/+5As a conservative, Christian, GAY man, stuff like this makes me ill. Very ill.
- ShootTheCore, on 11/10/2009, -1/+5You know what? That makes us WANT to do stuff like that >_>
- Paranor01, on 11/10/2009, -0/+4@seala: Nice to meet you! /* hand-shake
I'm a long-hair 420 social hippie liberal Pagan Atheist Zen Spiritualist.
EDIT: oops, forgot one: freak! - Maddoktor2, on 11/10/2009, -1/+4If you awarded tax-free status to homosexuals, Republicans and Libertarians would be coming out of the closet in droves.
- jhollida, on 11/10/2009, -0/+3Like Christians don't have a LONG history of their own terrorist tactics. Hmmm, like attacking homosexuals and then claiming they are doing Gods work. These people are every bit as despicable and evil as the Taliban.
Unlike my fundamentalist counterparts, it is because I am a Christian that I will stand beside and defend homosexuals until they have all the same rights and freedoms as the rest of us. All men are equal under the law and in the eyes of God. So simple yet so hard for those fundamentalists that believe themselves to be better than others to understand. The sin of pride, the sin of sins, the sin that transformed Lucifer, an anointed cherub of God, the very "seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty," into Satan, the devil, the father of lies, the one for whom Hell itself was created.
OK, a little too heavy. How about "fundamentalists are fundamentally evil," fits on a bumper sticker. - ApokalypseNow, on 11/11/2009, -0/+3@Paranor01
I seem to recall a study about the subject as I spoke of it, and another that drew a correlation between the order in which children were born, with the idea being that the mother's body fought against the testosterone as an invader, a foreign body, after the initial exposure to it from a first male child. I'll see if I can't find them for you. - ComeOnNowReally, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2"The Sum of All Fears" FTW?
- askantik, on 11/10/2009, -0/+2Liberty "University." Need I say more? I think not.
- Suricou, on 11/12/2009, -0/+2Out of curiosity, I did some googling. No luck, though. I've found sites suggesting that people on the titanic may have been gay, but none blaming the sinking on this.
- RockCosmos, on 11/10/2009, -1/+2If he came back (to paraphrase Woody Allen) and saw what has been done in his name, he would spend all his time vomiting
