- neognostic, on 08/12/2008, -0/+7And yet when Congress votes to pay current Veterans the same benefits the McCain got when he was in the Armed Forces, he votes against it. Shame on you John, you ultra rich elitist.
- inactive, on 08/13/2008, -0/+4I wonder why a multi-millionaire like McCain doesn't like Social Security? Oh, that's right, he' s got his, so ***** your parents.
- 3tcp, on 08/12/2008, -1/+3Are we back to this again? He bought his social security payments by paying social security taxes out of every paycheck for decades. It is ridiculous to ask anyone to throw away money that they earned. This is akin to mccain joining the 'meat of the month' club than calling him a jerk for eating his meat because there's people out there who would really like to have a bite of that.
- bumb1ebee, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2What a terrible argument. McCain paid into the system for years, and yes it is broken, but why should he let the government keep his money in protest? I don't agree with Social Security either, but when the time comes I will be ***** sure to collect every cent I can (if there is anything left!) from the government because it's my money in the first place.

Millionaire takes money from SS while complaining SS is broken. - Wilarseny, on 08/12/2008, -1/+2I'm no McCain fan--in fact about as far from it as one can be--but to say Social Security is working out just fine for this country is idiocy. I mean, haven't you seen those pie charts? I'm joking on the charts, but in terms of national budget, we do need to fix this system. Granted, not in the way McCain's suggesting, but perhaps, oh, maybe leaving the countries we've invaded? Or raising taxes onthe uber-rich? Those would be my suggestions, although I'm not naive enough to think that somehow money will stop controlling politics and allow fair and intelligent laws to be passed.
