House Minority Leader John Boehner, asked yesterday to explain why he and 177 of his colleagues switched their votes, answered: "Oh, we just wanted to make sure that everyone was on record in support of Mother's Day."
By voting against it? "
Typical GOP. Voting AGAINST something is supporting it.
I guess that's why they consider having our boys killed in Iraq as "supporting the Troops".
Who knew the GOP lived by the bizarro meaning of "support"?
Well, we all knew, I guess. - NinjaYaddaYadda, on 05/10/2008, -0/+4This whole thing is ridiculous.
I'm sure the nation will survive if you don't declare your support for mothers and mother's day, Congress. Idiots. - dunderballer, on 05/10/2008, -1/+4Congress has more important things to do than voting on freaking Mother's Day. They are all acting like a bunch of hooligans in the video. This is what our partisan system creates.
- LloydBentsen, on 05/10/2008, -0/+2Reviewed by whom? Congressional committee?
- inactive, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Yeah but that doesn't make a very sensationalist title:
"BREAKING: pointless resolution that has absolutely nothing to do with anything important not passed!" - Rotzooi, on 05/10/2008, -1/+2The current GOP is a joke.
- nizzy1115, on 05/10/2008, -1/+2I hope these practices get reviewed and do not happen anymore.
