- john2kdiggs, on 04/30/2008, -3/+24This is actually a relatively BIG story. Charlotte Iserbyt is not your average delegate. She was a policy adviser for Ronald Regan. (reference: http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com/pages/author. ... ) This is quite a significant development considering that she would go so far as to send this letter to 1500 other Maine state delegates.
You might consider updating your description for this digg with that info. Maybe even include the other quote: "McCain has little support nationally...there are never huge rallies for McCain, unless people are paid to show up. In short, he is a media creation and the darling of the Trotskyite neoconservative warmongers who have hijacked our party" - kemp34, on 04/30/2008, -3/+24John McCain should absolutely NOT be our next president.
- billyjack1958, on 04/30/2008, -2/+18Finally!! A voice the GOP might listen to comes forward with truth!
- kemp34, on 04/30/2008, -1/+11I concur.
- angelliberty, on 04/30/2008, -4/+13THIS IS AMAZING NEWS!!!!!! YOU MUST SPREAD THIS WORLD WIDE.......PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH , THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA WONT ........
- veeew, on 04/30/2008, -1/+10This type of letter needs to be sent to the delegates from the other states as well, including North Carolina. McCain is not conservative and he doesn't have any widespread support (except by the media that's been touting his "presumptive nomination" repeatedly for so long that many actually believe this tripe). Her wording is superb; the party has been hijacked and we need to take it back through our determined support for the true candidate. No "unity" garbage. The neo-party can shrivel up and die for all we care; we will not ever support McCain. The fall convention promises to be very exciting!
- 4pple5auce, on 04/30/2008, -3/+10John McCain is an *****.
- inactive, on 04/30/2008, -4/+10Republicans must be looking back at their primaries and wondering what the f**k happened. In my opinion, the Republican party went off the rails with W, but many people believe it started earlier. I guess we should have known that "Compassionate Conservative" meant neither.
Now, Republicans are stuck with John "Bush Jr." McCain as their candidate? I wish the true conservatives a lot of luck overriding that decision. - mykidsfuture, on 04/30/2008, -1/+6McSain doesn't have a chance in hell or on earth
- katie212, on 04/30/2008, -4/+9The word "Neo" means "New". This New conservative doesnot belong in the GOP standing for Grand OLD Party. They should start their own party called GNP for Grand New Party. And just who hijacked who? They could also be called simply "Trotskyite socialists" of which John McCain is.
- Tess101, on 04/30/2008, -1/+6I concur as well. The media has created this monster, and he does not represent the true conservative republicans at all.

[make your own nonsensical comparison here] - brjohnson789, on 04/30/2008, -2/+5"The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America" is a great book, and explains why d-bags like McCain, Clinton, and Obama have so much support.
- savannahcat, on 04/30/2008, -3/+5Thank you, Charlotte! Everyone should know the REAL McCain. He is totally unfit to be President....mentally and morally. I am disgusted everytime I see his beady-eyed face!
- photinacook, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1The Denver Post reported that McCain came to Denver and only 300 people showed up. The article had a quiet tone.
When Ron Paul came 2000 people stood up and screamed with joy about "every sentence out of that man's mouth" as his wife put it. I never saw so much enthusiasm in all my life before.
The reason for the difference is Ron Paul supporters do a great deal of research on everything under the sun and know a whole lot about their candidate. He's actually running on his Record!
GO RON PAUL! - Bhima, on 04/30/2008, -2/+3I will never understand why Americans brand anyone or idea they don't like or disagree with as "socialist"... or if they really don't care for them 'Marxist', completely without care of the actual spectrum of political ideologies.
- 3tcp, on 04/30/2008, -0/+1Yeah, did you bother reading all of what I wrote? Who would you have said was more libertarian than McCain, Romney in all his socialized medicine glory? Huckabee with his 'fair' consumption-tax wannabe VAT? Giuliani with his 'slavery is freedom', DHS loving police-state? Fred Thompson was allright with his decentralization and state rights but he was just dying to drop out.
In the absence of Ron Paul, McCain is the best indication that the republican voters want a more libertarian candidate than what they've gotten used to the last 10 years. - quesi, on 04/30/2008, -2/+3Reagan was not the greatest neocon. His Administration was certainly filled with the same neocon criminals as Nixons and the Bushes. He was merely their puppet, and was pushed around. HW was arguably in charge for all of the above.
- inactive, on 05/07/2008, -0/+1McSongbird is a collectivist.. he does not have my vote.
- sirellyn, on 04/30/2008, -2/+2Theres a recording of the convention from a link to youtube in the comments. Any call for information or objection (which is well within the rules) were ignored. It's pretty eye opening. Is this on digg already?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUbtwSsSxIk - umbriago, on 04/30/2008, -3/+3The biggest suspense will be whether McCain can stay up that late to give the acceptance speech. I'm betting no.
- Prophit0, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0You mean "McInsain" don't you???? LOL
- kemp34, on 05/01/2008, -1/+1Please research the history of neo-cons before speaking on the issue.
- Prophit0, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0Actually, your correct in your assessment. Reagan refused to accept Bush as his VP and held out for more than a week. He was then called to NY and a meeting with Rockefeller who told him he VILL TAKE BUSH, ZE NAZI as his VP, then 3 months after being sworn in, his life was threatened by an assassination attempt. Nancy made a deal when she figured out what happened and told Bush he could run the country if he let Ronnie live. That is the story and why Bush had two of his people as the triumverate of chiefs of staff. Remember that??? It was Baker, Meese (both bush people) and Devers who was a Reagan man but outnumber two to one. That is the rest of the story. Reagan was an idealist and not a neocon.
- Prophit0, on 05/08/2008, -0/+0I am a stalwart republican and active in same in my community and I can assure you I know of very few repubs and no independants who will support McInsain for the general election, which means Obama with Hillary's help will run the country. Now THAT is a scary thought. He has 6 CFR advisors on his staff, including Big Briwzenski (spelling?) who was carters handler for the CFR.... that is the largest number on any of the neocon candidates staffs. I would rather shoot myself than vote for McStain.
- JigoroKano, on 04/30/2008, -4/+2You appeal to the greatness of Reagan, but then spurt out the derogatory phrase
"Trotskyite neoconservative warmongers"?
Ronald Reagan was the greatest neocon. He defined neoconservatism.
And Trotskyism doesn't make any sense here. Neocon's want an international proletarian revolution? I think not. - JigoroKano, on 04/30/2008, -5/+1There are many labels you can give John McCain and the other neoconservatives, "Trotskyite socialist" is not among them. That doesn't make any sense.
- Nonya, on 04/30/2008, -7/+2WOOHOO GO RON PAUL! For those who want an awesome collection of Ron Paul songs go to www.quickfixservices.net/ronpaul/music There will be a nra file for burning the collection. The intent here is to reinvigorate our supporters plus show those who aren't sure, where the majority in this country stand. We all know its not with McCain, Clinton, or Obama... Lets prove it by passing out these cd's and letting people hear where the cultural divide lies. This collection ranges from hip hop to folk, lots for everyone to enjoy while deprogramming and becoming aware of the real issues facing us her in America today. Also, there is a cover for light-scribe and CD cover enthusiast.
Best Regards,
David
PS the business section of the site is not completed but is definitely meant to take away money from the establishment and give it back to the people. More will come so keep an eye out as we hope to launch this by the end of July provided our business model can be setup legally. If not we will have to spend a little more time to figure out another route. - 3tcp, on 04/30/2008, -8/+3Who are they going to nominate instead, Ron Paul? That'd be great except the entire republican party has been telling libertarians to go fck themselves ever since Bush won the nomination. Outside of Ron Paul, McCain is the closest candidate to a libertarian republican and everyone else in the party was already pissed that he won instead of romney or hucklberry
