- novenator, on 05/15/2009, -17/+256The conservatives have attacked Obama for everything he has done (or hasn't done) since taking the oath of office...including taking the oath itself. They need to get over it, they lost the election, deal with it.
- RoroCo, on 05/15/2009, -15/+192"We understand the RNC is frustrated their lack of a coherent message, but going negative on Bo isn't going to help, and neither is blatant hypocrisy."
That is what you call a verbal pimp slap by the DNC.... - mgraham80, on 05/15/2009, -14/+154LOL, are we sure that Michael Steele isn't actually a Democratic plant? If I were a Democrat, and I wanted to make the Republicans look petty, irrelevant, and just plain mean, this is *exactly* what I would do.
- barkus, on 05/16/2009, -4/+132Q: When do Republicans become fiscally conservative?
A: When a Democrat is in office. - LiberalThinker, on 05/16/2009, -14/+130May 2001, the US government gave $43 million to the Taliban.
The Iraq war has cost $860 billion in eight years.
Bush borrowed more money than the amount of money that was borrowed by the 42 presidents of the past combined. Based on U.S. Treasury, from 1776-2000, the combined borrowed money of the past 42 presidents added up to less than the money Bush borrowed during his term of eight years.
That leaves us at nine trillion dollars of debt, three of which is Bush Juniors, three more belongs to his dad.
Total the receipt for the Bush dynasty: 6,860,000,000,000 dollars +
The total cost of the stim bill: Generously, 1,000,000,000 dollars plus or minus.
The stimulus bill is at least directed at creating a rising economy again. Infrastructure and social programs.
Eight years of political cronyism and puppet presidents, unconstitutional wars and under the table deals to terrorists, SIX times the cost of the stimulus package. This money was directed at benefiting certain opulent individuals. You can do the balancing yourself. - ManUnitdFan, on 05/16/2009, -7/+121I'm sorry, was the implication that Bo and the NBA tickets were paid for by tax dollars? That's ballsy. And desperate. And a ***** outright lie.
- IrishJoe, on 05/15/2009, -15/+128Coward's motto: if you don't like someone kick his dog.
- ezrastiles, on 05/15/2009, -20/+129*****!
- mmittimm, on 05/15/2009, -13/+91The whole Mastercard parody thing is so five years ago. It's a shame, we could have made one about 15 minutes long for GeeDubya.
- roloenusa, on 05/15/2009, -12/+68The GOP needs to get their head out of the gutter. This needs to stop very soon because it's driving a wedge in the country. It's one thing to be critical of your government, which is the duty of any responsible citizen. It is a very different thing to try and split your country in half just cause you lost.
- _jinx_, on 05/15/2009, -6/+60"Drowning your country in debt...priceless."
The RNC should be ashamed of themselves after a comment like that. What a bunch of *****! - lolque, on 05/16/2009, -8/+61No. You call Obama an idiot and irresponsible for spending on a dog.
We called Bush an idiot and irresponsible for spending on a war that is impossible to prove has made the United States any safer. - ChristmasPoo, on 05/15/2009, -13/+60Who is Bo and can the American people trust him?
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -2/+45Bo knows baseball. Bo knows football. I trust Bo.
- Phoenix99, on 05/16/2009, -5/+47So wait.. Let me get this straight. They're trying to take this ***** of debt that the Bush admin started and trying to spin it off as though this whole deficit started when Obama took office... Yeah. That is fricken priceless. Considering we were already fuqed when he took office. Nice one.
- jstohler, on 05/15/2009, -12/+54About time someone stood up to that canine Socialist, living off the taxpayers' dime and not contributing to society.
- inactive, on 05/15/2009, -5/+37It's not being a hypocrite if you actually endorse the spending. It's being a hypocrite if you say you're going to reduce spending, but then increase it. I mean, if you object to spending, well that's another deal entirely, but the point is, the Democrats openly acknowledge they planned to increase spending, so I don't see the problem here (other than if you object to increasing spending - but the point is, it's not like they lied about spending or anything, unlike the Republicans).
- roloenusa, on 05/15/2009, -2/+33In Bo We Trust
- MikeOxbigg, on 05/16/2009, -7/+38That was such a reach my bag hurts.
Honestly I love these things. They're wearing their desperation. Squirm, you douchebags. - govtdoesnotwork, on 05/15/2009, -26/+55From what I've heard, Teddy Kennedy bought the dog.
And the party of big spending hypocrites should not try to be critical of the OTHER party of big spending hypocrites when both have ***** this country over so badly while libertarian types like me (who have been consistently wanting less spending but getting more for DECADES) around. - canada42, on 05/16/2009, -3/+31Are you actually trying to say he's not allowed to purchase anything you don't approve with the money he earns? Seriously?
- 8FoldPath, on 05/15/2009, -12/+37Sad and pathetic.
- FreddieD, on 05/16/2009, -3/+28It's Sasha, not Natasha. And yes, we get it... Republicans are outraged at Obama's $787B stimulus package and feel that the Democrats are being fiscally irresponsible. They seemed perfectly fine letting their own guy turn a $155B surplus into a $1.5T debt, however.
The reason Republicans are in the ***** right now isn't because the country all decided to turn liberal, it's because Republicans employed the exact opposite fiscal policies of their core values. - richirwin, on 05/16/2009, -5/+28Thank GOD John McCain didn't get elected. We'd be in a world of *****.
- nihilville, on 05/16/2009, -3/+26I think the point was that liberals _are_ laughing... At conservatives... Again.
- scy1192, on 05/16/2009, -5/+27Are they still spoofing that MasterCard ad campaign? That stopped being funny and/or creative after the first spoof. And even then it wasn't very funny.
- Snakedal337, on 05/16/2009, -3/+24Salary sal-rē

He's offering services, you're paying him, write your rep if you don't like it. - canada42, on 05/16/2009, -4/+24Brought to you by the same people who actually made it a talking point that he ordered a burger with Dijon mustard.
Do people seriously pay attention to this anymore for more than comic relief? - Jaleho, on 05/16/2009, -3/+23So we're comparing the RNC to a comedy show? Yeah, sounds about right...
- eir574, on 05/16/2009, -6/+25Yeah, the dog part was more about provoking class envy. That makes it much better.
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -1/+19But... but... but... WAAAHHHHHHH!!!!
- TheNyquilKid, on 05/16/2009, -3/+19That's progressive for the GOP.
- PilotHead, on 05/16/2009, -5/+21Um...it's not like the Presidential position doesn't pay, he can buy w/e the hell he wants with his paycheck -.-
But seriously, I never liked Republicans, but this is just stupid. Not only are they cash hogs, but awful losers - inactive, on 05/16/2009, -4/+20lolrepublicans.
- algaeturd, on 05/16/2009, -8/+24I have to agree that after knowing the few republicans that I know, (I don't know many...most of my friends are well educated and completed at least a bachelor's degree) it's been a real pleasure watching them have breakdowns after power was snatched from the destructive, incapable hands of the Bush administration.
The further down this party goes, the more I'm going to celebrate. And I really mean that. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 05/16/2009, -4/+19Q: When do Democrats become fiscally responsible?
A: Whenever they're in office.
http://www.city-data.com/forum/attachments/2008-pr ... - gropo, on 05/16/2009, -1/+16More importantly, was Bo verifiably born in the United States of Jesus' America?
- ppan1, on 05/16/2009, -5/+20If there are people who think that was funny, we're more ***** than I thought.
- jitterbits, on 05/16/2009, -3/+18@btschul~
Maybe you don't but you seem to be defending the practice. - Kragnerac, on 05/16/2009, -1/+15YOU KICK MY DOG!
- Loie, on 05/16/2009, -1/+15WAKE UP SHEEPLaahnevermind.
- digitalArtform, on 05/16/2009, -5/+19When Carter did things cheaply they called him a hillbilly, and cooed and purred at Nancy Reagan's $30,000 chine set purchases. Ooh, how regal the Reagans were!
- AmazingSteve, on 05/16/2009, -9/+22LOL. It's only been 4 months. This meltdown has FAR exceeded my wildest expectations.
- ironhide, on 05/16/2009, -3/+16Kennedy didn't buy the dog, it's a descendant of one of his own dogs.
- ozydingo, on 05/15/2009, -2/+15@govt
I just want to clarify one non-essential point, because 1984 is a brilliant (and useful?) masterpiece whose message should not be misapplied. I do no believe the terminology that you speak of can be called Newspeak. Doublethink, perhaps? Newspeak is a deliberate simplification of a language with the goal of making it in fact impossible to have rebellious thought. This is not the same as the deceptive or contradictory naming practices your implicitly refer to. - SpeedSteamBoat, on 05/16/2009, -0/+12How does that make any sense? You're going to pay taxes for as long as you're alive and living in the United States so... yeah. Who told you that one day you would just not have to pay taxes anymore?
- radix2, on 05/16/2009, -5/+17Non-biased? How about a foreigner's (Australian) view? He is doing very well in repairing the image of America. He seems capable of facilitating the fixing of many of the domestic issues, but there is a lot there that is out of anyone's control. He has started to fulfill some of his campaign promises but has a long way to go. It **is** only 100 or so days after all.
On the other hand, he (or the government in general - hard to tell) has disappointed on many things - the most prominent of which is the continued blocking of investigations into blatantly criminal actions committed by American personnel under Executive order (or pressure).
All in all a good start. We are watching though. - COINTELPROAgent, on 05/16/2009, -4/+15Hmm, very sloppy work. Even if spending was a legitimate issue, "they're attacking the dog" should have been anticipated as an obvious reponse.
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -4/+15actually, the stimulus package hasn't even begun to get spent. It is way too early to know if it is working.
Just thought you should know. Everything else was pretty spot on. - Kaegro, on 05/16/2009, -1/+12I would have voted for Bo.
