- AmericanElitist, on 10/17/2008, -3/+255wow, how do these nuts get elected in the first place? she doesn't see that rejecting people's right to question their government is as un-American as it gets? she needs to be recalled asap. what an embarassment to Minnesota.
- afajem, on 10/17/2008, -1/+131Seriously is this my America? Who are these people?? We are all americans, with inalienable rights that dictates that were're created equal and hence have the rights to question our government. Whether you're a republican or democrat, these crazy assertion that there are "pro-american" vs. "non pro-american" people in this country is simply inane.
We all have a love for this country, and that's why we live in this country. We continue to question authority because it is a right afforded us by the constitution. This is a slippery slope that we're on... living in a nation where the politics of division has reached an all-time high--pitting one group against another, small towns against big cities, black against white.
I say enough! It really is time for all of us to rise above this. We as a nation are better than this. - DeliciousWolf, on 10/17/2008, -14/+127Yes, lets, starting with the Republicans.

- zenbud, on 10/17/2008, -2/+102This is what 8 years of the house, senate and shrub presidency brings us. Total lunacy, fundamental religious nut jobs and people afraid of a dark skin color. . . I am so ashamed of these people and what we are showing to the world. McSame and Palin are pox on our houses.
- ShoggothDreams, on 10/17/2008, -4/+98This kind of story should exist only in the Onion News. How can we be falling back into this???? I wish the quote "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it" had not become known as a cliche, it's needed now more than ever...
- Siliconshaman, on 10/17/2008, -4/+96Yowsers... are the Republicans *trying* to throw this race to the Democrats. I mean, they're beginning to frighten even their own people now...
Or have some of them drunk a little too deeply of the red Kool-aid? - 5celery, on 10/18/2008, -4/+94donate to her opponent:
https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/entity/18660 - DeucesWild, on 10/18/2008, -3/+84Wow this needs to make front page. I just saw it on TV and holy crap this is one scary lady. Wow, just wow.
I'm donating to her opponent tonight and I don't even live in Minnesota.
http://www.tinklenberg08.com/ - PistolSO, on 10/18/2008, -4/+62I'd say any start of investigating Un-American practices has to start with the GOP and their selling out of America. I read in Mother Jones how they get away with selling public land to Big Oil on the cheap, and the other selling-out Bush plans to do when he leaves office. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bush give Abramoff and other crooks a pardon as his last act of office.
- Berkana, on 10/18/2008, -4/+56Bachman about as right-wing and as shrill and callous as Ann Coulter.
Let me remind you that Bachman is the one who dismissed calls to protect the environment as efforts to "save the planet", saying "We all know that someone did that over 2,000 years ago, they saved the planet -- we didn't need Nancy Pelosi to do that."
Even as Christian who believes in Jesus' atonement for my sins, I must confess that Bachman makes me want to say "Lord, save me from your followers!" Ditto for Palin and Coulter and all these self professed Christians who 'strain out gnats and swallow camels'; they have a log in their own eye, yet they pick at the speck in their brother's eye. American conservatism–especially the variety tainted with self-righteous religious zeal–needs Jesus to come kick their asses. May judgment begin in the house of God. - nycjap, on 10/18/2008, -2/+53"Tailgunner" Michelle was in rare form.
Just when you think the far right has gone too far, they manage to keep on going just a little bit farther. - inactive, on 10/18/2008, -4/+54PLEASE DONAT TO EL TINKLENBERG NOW AND GET THIS PSYCHO OUT OF CONGRESS http://www.actblue.com/page/nonewmccarthy
- noen, on 10/18/2008, -5/+54I'm from Minnesota, Michelle Bachmann's district is mostly suburban and deeply racist. It's the suburbs where a lot of the current insanity is coming from. Michelle is actively delusional, you can see it in her eyes. She belongs in a closed psych ward.
- rebotfc, on 10/18/2008, -4/+52That is one sick bitch.
- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -4/+47Michelle Bachmann is a disgrace to Minnesota. The campaign she got elected in basically was her lying about Patty Wetterling (saying she supported terrorists, and wants to see dead babies on the streets... I'm not kidding one bit). Since being in congress, she's done nothing but oggle the president, and give hate speech.
She's one of the worst ***** Neo-Cons out there. I'm ashamed to say she's from my home state.
Then again. My district is represented by a muslim. So it kind of balances out. - Berkana, on 10/18/2008, -5/+47If you want to remove this callous neocon from Congress, donate to help the Democrat running against her:

Michelle Bachman is neocon Republicanism at its worst.

http://erstarnews.com/content/view/4499/42/ - algaeturd, on 10/18/2008, -3/+44It's well established that this woman is crazy as a ***** house rat. She's the one that said that God spoke to her on several occasions and told her how to vote. Get this bitch out of the congress. She is a danger to the people she represents.
- bitfreak, on 10/18/2008, -4/+44"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross." -- Sinclair Lewis, 1935
"The ghost of McCarthy, the memories of Nixon." - Pink Floyd, The Final Cut - Batfishy, on 10/18/2008, -0/+37I watched her when it happened. I don't really think this is about fundamental religious nut jobs or skin color. It's more to do with money, in my opinion. I am surrounded by the right, from mild to extreme (I admit it sucks for me), and their biggest fear, by far, is how much money they think they are going to lose. It's is always about that. Always. I think they are just afraid of having to share, like toddlers.
This will be unpopular, I know - but taxes don't bother me all that much. I pay my fair share. When the country is doing well we see our money in our streets and parks, schools, science, space exploration, education, etc. Taxes are a good thing and gives us a vested interest our world. I want clean sidewalks? I pay for them.
Bachmann is some kind of loonjob crazy, though. - rald84, on 10/17/2008, -4/+37the irony, of course, is their new standard-bearer Palin has secessionist ties. thats one step removed from treason isn't it
- preneel, on 10/18/2008, -3/+36Her opponent got over 30,000 dollars in donations right after she did this. Donate to El.

- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -3/+33MICHELLE BACHMANN= JOSEPH MCCARTHY!
- Batfishy, on 10/18/2008, -2/+32Uh oh. I see a big fight brewing. This is getting mean.
- RuffBong, on 10/18/2008, -3/+32This lunatic needs time in a padded cell, and a good copy of the constitution.
- jchrome, on 10/18/2008, -2/+29She sat there (in between spouting off that *****) for about 16 minutes without ever changing her expression. She blinked once the entire time - I think it's on a timer. She's a freaking scary android lady straight out of the 50's, held together with duct tape, mascara, a wig and 3 quarts of botox. And her statements indicate that she's likely got an underclocked Neocon® processor running at 12Mhz in turbo mode behind those fake eyeballs.
- honeybrass, on 10/18/2008, -1/+25According to latest rhetoric, being in the same room as an alleged "anti-American" makes you one. Doesn't really leave many of them out, looks like we will be in for some old fashioned witch hunts and burnings at the stake
mmmm... Steak. - inactive, on 10/18/2008, -1/+24I meant it as Minnesota being progressive enough to elect a Muslim. I'm proud of that.
I'm sad that I had to vote as a North Dakotan, i really wanted to help re-elect him. - ErickStevenson, on 10/18/2008, -4/+25Watching that clip was scary, to think we have people like that in office. But not surprising after Bush administration...
- heystoopid, on 10/18/2008, -2/+22Curses this incompetent fruitcake first class due for relection until 2008 , and appears to take an extreme dislike for the middle class to advance themselves via education , a true self wanking wowser who sucked up to Bush's posterior like all good boot lickers do .
One hopes the wiser heads in Minnesota vote her out of office come super Tuesday in November 2008 as pollster com is showing 50/44 pro Obama , looks like Elwyn her Democrat opponent (he 38 , her 42 undecided 20) will have a possible chance in the backwash anti Bush feelings to defeat her(pictures exist of Bush kissing her not a good idea at the the moment) and boot her ass out of federal politics and thankfully send her back into obscurity where she belongs permanently . - wherearemymeds, on 10/18/2008, -2/+22Hasn't your party done enough damage yet?
- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -0/+19Settle down, and get excited, because she's just guaranteed Al Franken's ascension to the US Senate.
- wing05, on 10/18/2008, -1/+19...that pro-america populations live in small towns while anywhere liberal is anti-america?
Weren't the 9/11 targets in liberal parts of America?
Why do they get so hung up about terrorism then?
It's whatever reason they can find to push their cause.... - DeucesWild, on 10/18/2008, -1/+18Donation Done.
- hmunkey, on 10/18/2008, -3/+20Mccarthyism is just like the Salem Witch Trials.
I just wrote a paper on the two and it's scary how similar they are. - mewho, on 10/18/2008, -0/+17She got elected because of smears against Patty Wetterling. Patty's son, Jacob, was abducted and she was very dedicated to finding him. She became a voice for exploited children. Michelle said that in this work she disrespected the police force and would never be able to work with "authority". This is also the woman who groped Bush. She has very little approval.
- LBTS, on 10/18/2008, -2/+19She's un-American, she seeks to divide the citizenry of the United States into those she deems worthy, and those she deems not.
That's the classic definition of a person who is a traitor to their country.
From now on I will call her Michelle Benedict Arnold Bachmann. - secrity, on 10/18/2008, -1/+16Al Franken could make a great Senator.
- DrSithMirth, on 10/18/2008, -0/+15I lived in Minneapolis for 10 years, and I loved it there. This is really an embarrassment, people. I can't believe such a person was elected from there.
- devobergso, on 10/18/2008, -0/+15if you don't like what Bachmann represents remember to vote Tinklenberg
- abrazoarboles, on 10/18/2008, -4/+19Bears repeating - DONATE TO ELWYN.
(I just did.) She's got to be defeated. - shupy, on 10/18/2008, -1/+15All Americans need to get off their duffs and vote. It is pitiful to see how few eligible voters actually vote. Then they sit around and say "it doesn't matter, they are all the same."
It does matter. All politics are local. If people didn't vote for or these people when they were at the local level, they would never make it to the national scene. How many people know who is on their city council? How many people bother to find out who is serving in their state legislature? That's where these nut jobs start out. If people don't care enough to pay attention at that level, it is a little too late for them to start whining once their local wingnut gets to congress.
The Republican party produced McCarthy and Nixon, Gingrich, Bush and Rove. Why is this a surprise?
I find it very interesting that words like communist, marxist and socialist are being used in arguments against Obama. - EarlOfLade, on 10/18/2008, -2/+16She is a great example of how rampant fascism is in todays USA.
This country is so far to the right and it will be the demise of this country. While the rest of the world is busy at making their country the best place it can be for it's citizens, this bitch wants to go back to pogroms, KZ camps and re-education camps for those who disagree with her politics. Hitler would have been proud of this nazi-bitch. - kcpistol, on 10/18/2008, -4/+18If we let this happen the terrorists really have won.
- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -4/+17No, start with the 'Israel first' `americans` such as John McCain and Joe Biden, Dick Morris, Sean Hannity, all the members of AIPAC, George Bush, William Kristol, et al.
THOSE, are the american traitors of the new millennium. - Muleyinoz, on 10/18/2008, -4/+17More Orwellican politics from the Masters of Deception, people here in Australia ask me all the time if Americans will ever wake up and NOT fall for the lowest common denominator... again.
Hey... I'd love to have a beer with Dubya and gosh Sarah's a hoot but I still want an intelligent leader! I want America to be respected and looked up to for it's ideals and not for people to say "American" like it's a dirty word... Trust me, recently a lot do. - copyland, on 10/18/2008, -0/+13RE:I'll tell you how. Not enough people vote in Minnesota
You're right! except for the fact that Minnesota's turnout leads the nation most of the time.
http://www.fairvote.org/turnout/preturnstate.htm - richirwin, on 10/18/2008, -0/+13It was funny watching her.
It seemed obvious to me that she realized she was going down a slippery slope, the wrong path. But Matthews kept hammering her and instead of correcting herself and getting away from that, she kept justifying it and trying to weave and bob.
Like the guy said on Matthews' show once.... When you're six feet in a hole, stop digging. -
