- mandeepm, on 10/12/2007, -16/+64Here's an ethical dilemma for you... what would you do? Only one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will discover where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, in which you will have to make a decision.
Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.
You're in Florida...In Miami, to be exact... There is chaos around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods. This is a flood of biblical proportions. You are a photo-journalist working for a major newspaper caught in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless.
You're trying to shoot career-making photos. There are houses and people swirling around you, some disappearing under the water. Nature is showing all its destructive fury.
You see a man in the water; he is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken away with the water and debris. You move closer. Somehow the man looks familiar.
Suddenly, you know who it is... it's George W. Bush!
At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him under, forever. You have two options. You can save him or you can take the most dramatic photos of your life. So, you can save the life of George W.Bush, or you can shoot a Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most powerful men.
Now, here's the question (please give an honest answer):
Would you select color film, or rather go with the classic simplicity of black and white? - Allymarie, on 10/12/2007, -8/+39another scandal? throw it on the heap
- AngryRepublican, on 10/12/2007, -1/+152 things:
1) In America, isn't the burden of proof on the leaks? Don't we need to prove that the leaks are true, not that they they aren't?
2) The claim that his election was rigged is also an unsubstantiated claim, so why the rush to take him at is word in that circumstance?
I think Renzi is a creep, but I also believe in keeping the dialog honest. - RadicalRon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I 'm not a huge fan of Thinkprogress, but Renzi claimed, FTA "... - without any evidence - ...."
- misfit410, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14Simplified-
I got busted, so I blame it on Bush, because there are people who will believe anything bad, as long as it's about Bush. - Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Bravo, sgglynn.
The video was sparse on facts about the DOJ's involvement. It came across as a wild allegation, not a substantiated one. And Renzi never even mentioned Bush, but ThinkProgress had to work Bush's name in there, anyway.
So, basically, a politician under fire fires back by saying that someone needs to investigate the investigators. Yeah, that never happens... :-P - nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9"They're being attention whores. Half of this stuff is probably a bigger lie than what they're claiming to expose."
Yeah, you generally need to have a reliable source to "expose" a scandal. A man sinking in his own ***** grasping at something to keep him from going under is not the best source for truthful information. - GeneralFault, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3no.
- sgglynn, on 10/12/2007, -9/+11Think progress.... That's about as accurate as getting your news from Fox News. Buried as lame. I'm sick of seeing every negative post about Bush Administration IMMEDIATELY reaching the front page regardless of facts just because it's anti-bush
Clarification: I'm not saying they are all false. I'm saying no matter WHAT the content, an anti-bush headline gets Dugg. This is ruining what Digg is about, people need to be more responsible when digging - GeneralFault, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Nice trick. Color... but on that other issue:
I think I would save him... then give him a solid punch in the nose and walk away. What would you do? - bigdsinferno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2this is such bs. A republican needing to rig an election in Arizona?
- bobbknight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Think, Progress, whaaa?
- ramiro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The Broken: Hacking with Renzi.
- MeanYogurt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"And Renzi didn't even try to draw Bush into this, that was ThinkProgress's doing."
I think they covered themselves by using the phrase "Bush Administration". The justice dept is part of the executive branch and therefore part of the "Bush Administration".
I think its amusing that the attorney who brought the charges was also fired by the "Bush Administration". Considering the hoopla over that, I find this just ridiculous. Last week the story was that the fired attorneys were fired to cover up misdeeds and prevent investigations. Now Bush is rigging elections to prevent republicans from being elected in a tight senate race with control of the house and senate in jeopardy. It makes no sense. Will thinkprogress please get their smear of the president straight?
- krellor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Black and white all the way.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2To be a "scandal," you generally have to have some facts and maybe some corroborating witnesses. Or some sort of evidence. Something.
What we have here is a wild allegation, devoid of any facts or evidence, made by a congressman under investigation.
And Renzi didn't even try to draw Bush into this, that was ThinkProgress's doing. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3this guy seems like a scumbag himself. no wonder he's a republican.
- Pilot85, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1as we always do.
- GeneralFault, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1On behalf of you to me... woosh!
LOL. - meltingrobot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@mandeepm
I don't know, is one worth more PP than the other? I thought it was all about timing. ;) - Chull, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ nixonrichard
One could argue that he has nothing to lose, so spilling the beans and dealing with the consequences seems better than the alternative.
He's either the worst, or best source of information. - Cameleopard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@mandeepm
Funny, and it also happens to be based on a true stroy.
Intermission while I find said story....

To answer your question: black and white with hand tinting. - ramiro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1At last, people are getting tired of the spam from the ultra-left and their cheating to make front page.
thinkprogress, rawstory, dailykos, crooksandliars have been getting my bury clicks for a long time. - GeneralFault, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Yah! Lets not listen!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+12They're being attention whores. Half of this stuff is probably a bigger lie than what they're claiming to expose.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2of course they did...thats what the Bush administration does. What do we do about it? Sit here and blog on digg!
- Korexz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2The internet is what unites and divides us. In the end it is nothing more than a distraction.
We all get angry and then... oh look... a puppy juggling flaming chainsaws on youtube...
Even websites focused on ending the tyranny have no power to affect change.
Get used to it. There will be no election in 2008. - spectrm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0@mandeepm:
love it...you made my day - skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Mandeepm, I heard that joke at church - only it was Hillary instead of GWB..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Bush is responsible for me spilling my drink. He lurks everywhere! Impeach him!
- IanPhillips, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Did anyone else read: "Bush Administration Tried To Rig My Erection" and say wtf?
