All week they've been blaming swine flu on "illegals" (all Mexicans are illegal aliens right?). Probably the biggest culprit, much worse than this guy, is Michael Savage (his real name is Michael Weiner, haha), who's Barbara Streisand voice has been blasting immigrants with phrases like "Make no mistake about it: Illegal aliens are the carriers of the new strain of human-swine avian flu from Mexico" and even blaming it on Islamic terrorists. It's especially ridiculous because investigators are now saying this swine flu outbreak started in California and was basically exported to Mexico. The right wing radio club are all a bunch of clowns.

You can't take away his right to free speech!". Yeah, free speech means you can't be imprisoned for what you say--not that you can't be fired. I can't walk into my boss's office and say "you're a douchebag" then try to argue "free speech" as a reason I shouldn't get fired.

But what they're really doing is creating all sorts of problems for people who legally have the right to cross the border, while at the same time doing nothing to affect illegal immigration. It's xenophobia because it's an irrational reaction that doesn't address the real issues.

People coming into the country don't need to be "conditioned" a certain way before they can fit in; we brag about freedom and then put other people down because of their language, race, religion, etc. People have no trouble settling on their own without the government breathing down their necks, and conservatives should be the to stand up for less government interference.

He was always respectful to callers, even when they didn't return the favor. He'd simply point out what he believed were the errors in their thinking. He lost the show when Bob Grant became available. I gave Grant a listen, heard his inflammatory rhetoric & thought to myself "He's no Jay Severin".
I wonder which Jay Severin is the real deal. -
