It is NOT "Obamacare" or "Obama's healthcare plan".
The Plan is being written by the CONGRESS, not the President.
Calling it the President's plan is playing right into the !right/republican plans to use defeating it as the key to defeating President "scary black man".
It's OUR health care plan, written by OUR Congress and it BETTER be written to benefit the PEOPLE instead of the insurance companies or there will be a great number of incumbents losing their cushy jobs in the coming elections.
Can I be more clear? Are you listening Congress? For your sake I hope so. - Anomaly100, on 10/18/2009, -25/+270I'll bet half of them aren't even doctors either. All the doctors I've spoken to are for the public option...unless, they're with Glenn Beck. They all seem to be affiliated with FOX somehow.
- Alexmtz101, on 10/18/2009, -4/+120But doctors wear white coats. Those guys were wearing white coats. Therefore they MUST be doctors.
/s - Chooxo, on 10/18/2009, -8/+117How did this guy find work with *anyone* after they found him circulating that picture?!
- richirwin, on 10/18/2009, -14/+119At least this doctor didn't rape and murder a young girl in 1990.
- Diefree, on 10/18/2009, -6/+83Racists like to hire racists.
- NoDrama, on 10/18/2009, -17/+83Want to know how to confront racist acts, or people who say racist things? http://obamesque.wordpress.com/2009/10/16/lets-tal ... GREAT video.
But if you want to understand why Fox, among others, lies with impunity you should read: http://wp.me/pbSfp-a5 It explains why they're glad to have Beck, for instance, doing his ratings-boosting nonsense (because, after all, Murdoch is profit-motivated.)
You have to tell the truth on your taxes. You have to tell the truth on your job applications. But when Fox went to court in Florida a judge ruled they didn't have to tell the truth while reporting the news. SERIOUSLY. http://wp.me/pbSfp-a5 - Seafea, on 10/18/2009, -7/+73How is that picture NOT racist?
If you REALLY can't see it, then... wow. There's just no words for how blind you are. - sonofabiscuit, on 10/18/2009, -11/+61I'm talking about "Republican", of course.
- Mujokan, on 10/18/2009, -3/+46Plausible deniability through skirting the line of racism is no bad thing for these guys. It's like a code that they wink at among themselves, and then if you make too much fuss about it, out comes the line: "So, any criticism of Obama is racist, is it?"
It isn't even so much that they are necessarily racists as that they are pushing buttons and baiting people into attacking them. Then they paint you as against freedom of speech and oversensitive. Wedge politics. - sonofabiscuit, on 10/18/2009, -13/+54There's that "r-word" again. By the time this presidency is over, the word will no longer have a meaning.
- daEvan, on 10/18/2009, -6/+46Watching these guys is nearly scary. The ridiculous propaganda that they spew regularly on television is infecting their audience in a frightening fashion. They go unchallenged on these shows because they arrange them to be that way, and when the opposition is going to be on the show, they use loaded questioning and bullying (mostly O'Reilly). It's disturbing how people can continue to think Fox is not a propaganda machine when they see this stuff daily.
- RatatRatR, on 10/18/2009, -4/+44I suppose the fact that the latter scenario has nothing to do with race, for starters.
- biotch, on 10/18/2009, -1/+36Didnt republicans accuse Obama of cherrypicking for dressing up doctors and having a photo op with them? Even though 73% of doctors want a public option or public only plan.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?story ...
So if cherrypicking is when the majority of doctors agree with you and you have a photo op with them dressed as doctors suggesting that is so, what do you call it when the majority DOESNT agree (by a large margin) and you go around and find the ones that do and dress them up etc. ? - AgeofMastery, on 10/18/2009, -9/+42Yes, you have been and deservedly so.
- Seafea, on 10/18/2009, -3/+35that was PRICELESS! :)

- seltaeb4, on 10/18/2009, -12/+41^^^
The above comment is a not-so-subtle insult to Anomaly, to all of the poor and sick in need of medical care, and to all Americans who realize that it's far past time to address the abuses of the Health Insurance Cartel.
All of us, including mollydog, are but an Insurance Corporation's whim away from "the doctors down at the clinic [who] probably are for the public option." - Diefree, on 10/18/2009, -3/+28No common sense is.
- firewall1, on 10/18/2009, -12/+37I have been a strong supporter for Obama, but that is slowly changing. He could have pushed this through both houses of congress months ago. He is pandering to the Republicans, thinking that somehow 'reaching across the aisle' is helping his image and cause. The reality is the longer this drags out, the more leverage the Repubs are gaining and the less valuable this 'health care reform' will be.
It's a mess, and it will be NOTHING like he promised me before he was elected. Just a thin shell of what could have been a great advancement he could have made for America.
So sad - say all the bad things you want about Bush (and I have a detailed list) but if it were his baby, Bush would have had this bill pushed through in the first few months of office. Obama seems to be more talk than action, and now the Republicans have taken this weakness of his and keep exploiting it.
Obama, grow some ***** Balls! - FurryToaster, on 10/18/2009, -6/+30Damn it. I was hoping to see a clip of Beck crying again.
I can't stand that pig faced *****.
Oh yeah, don't forget he hates 9/11 victims surviving families ...

"portray the president in a less flattering manner than he's used to"
cmon... be serious here, the media attention over those "frumpy" too-big jeans he wore 6 months ago was "portraying him in a less flattering manner than he's used to", how can you possibly use the same expression to describe the mailer where his face has been superimposed onto a tribal witch doctor, complete with bone through nose, axe & giant headdress? - DougChristian, on 10/18/2009, -2/+22You really think some mysterious "trial lawyer" industry is the biggest player in healthcare and is single-handedly preventing malpractice reform? Why don't you just admit your information is solely from conservative talking points and you don't understand the healthcare industry enough to justify your strong feelings?
The CBO estimates that total malpractice liability accounts for a whopping 2% of healthcare costs. And defensive medicine is a much more complex issue than you understand. This is the CBO's take on that: "defensive medicine may be motivated less by liability concerns than by the income it generates for physicians or by the positive (albeit small) benefits to patients"
http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d03836.pdf
In other words, the costs of defensive medicine are a result of our incentive system, not our malpractice system. I think Democratic opposition to malpractice reform is misguided, but it is motivated by concern for PATIENTS' RIGHTS, not by lawyer lobbyists.
The bottom line is that full malpractice reform is predicted to save $54 billion over 10 years, which is a tiny fraction of total costs. We should do it, but it is no panacea.
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/6 ...
But it all comes back to the real bottom line. You and everyone like you have NO ***** CLUE what you're talking about. Healthcare is an unbelievably complex thing and you haven't studied it. You aren't an expert. You have no real claim to your strong opinions on this. You are a HUGE part of the problem. - teamgwho, on 10/19/2009, -0/+20"hello is this the Glenn Beck hotline phone?"
"yes it is."
"this is the White House calling. Did you have a man who circulated a racist photo of president Obama on your show?"
"yes."
"why did you do that? Why would you associate yourself w/someone who has been shown to have racist views?"
"Oh I see. You don't like white people. it's because he's white isn't it? And stop talking about my mother! Let's stick to the facts!" - RatatRatR, on 10/18/2009, -2/+22That's a pretty remarkable question. Just look at the situation. A couple key words in your question: First, "pictures." That's misleading, as if Obama actually dressed that way and someone objectively documented it with a camera. Since that didn't happen, the created image was obviously meant to allege something... What could it be?
Second, "black." Who was the picture circulated by? Is he also black? No, he's a white doctor, trying to make a disparaging point about the black president and his plans. Roughly, I'd say it's that he's like a pre-scientific, tribal, ass-backwards, ignorant tribal witch doctor practicing crazy voodoo.
Are you really looking at that situation and asking how it has anything to do with race? - detcade, on 10/18/2009, -2/+22Quit defending racism.
- WafflesID, on 10/18/2009, -2/+20And we're happy for you that you don't give a *****.
We do though.
People should be held accountable for their actions.
So get out of the ***** way if you don't give a *****. - Anomaly100, on 10/18/2009, -4/+22Hi Molly-
Actually I'm referring to every doctor in two different hospitals that I've spoken to in the last 2 1/2 months. I've been visiting them about 10 hours a day to see an old family friend. Honestly, I didn't think many doctors would be for it which was why I asked. I thought greed would get in the way & to my surprise, not one said they were against it. In fact, they were all for a public option. You live in the same city I do. I know you may not believe me, so ask some of them. Go to the clinic and ask. :-)
* It was Lenox Hill Hospital & Beth Israel if you want to ask around. I'd like to know what kind of health care reform you would approve of. - theonlywizdum, on 10/18/2009, -3/+21If by "hard evidence" you mean flat out lies and deception mixed with racism and *****, then you are right.
- Mejari, on 10/18/2009, -6/+23"i've never seen it posted by a conservative."
Did you miss the part where this guy sent it out in an e-mail? - twiztidsinz, on 10/18/2009, -4/+21Bitching about being buried before anyone even touched your comment?
Go ***** eat all the dicks.. I mean have a wide stance in a public mens room. - Mship, on 10/18/2009, -4/+21You are getting buried because everyone was over the whole rev wright thing over a year ago. Also everyone knows that whatever those two people did in the acorn video was done two people it was not the policy o the organization. Acorn got 53 million dollars in government funds of a 15 year period. However others like haliburton or phizar who gets billions in government contracts a year and have already been convicted of crimes still get more.
So please tell me how that makes any sense

- inactive, on 10/18/2009, -5/+21What a piss-poor photoshop job.
- bobbi21, on 10/19/2009, -0/+16As a med student, the doctors at the hospital here are pretty split. I think it's largely an age thing though. Most of the younger docs are all for the public option and national health care. All the docs I've seen against it are a lot older. Think it's the classic conversative liberal split based on age.
ALL of them hate insurance companies though. ALL of them want serious reform. Its just the details they argue about. - iletumi, on 10/18/2009, -3/+19Anyone else notice the stupid prop rubber hammer McKalip had in his pocket? I thought they said he was a neuro surgeon or something as well. As far as i could tell no other "M.D" had anything of the sort.
Maybe he thought it would make him more "doctorish" - fury420, on 10/18/2009, -1/+16how does a native witch doctor with a bone through his nose wearing a feathered headdress and holding an axe have anything remotely to do with politics or a health care plan?
please, explain the logic for me. would this same image make any sense whatsoever if it was someone other than obama?
John Kerry as native witch doctor with bone through his nose?
Hillary Clinton as native witch doctor with bone through her nose?
Bill Clinton as native witch doctor with bone through his nose?
all seem like absolutely ridiculous ideas, yet all three were pro-health care reform just like Obama...
Just what is the the connection between the native shaman and your current president?
Did Obama openly encourage conversion to Voodoo & Shamanism for health care?
More money for reading chicken entrails & tea leaves?
Rain Dances? Animal Sacrifice?
No? Nothing?
You mean... the connection is only as deep as the color of their skin?
How is that not racist? - weaksnyc, on 10/18/2009, -5/+20molly, i call *****... and even if your story is true, it's anecdotal at best, with doctors exaggerating about retiring to begin with. Truth is the private sector of medicine will always have a market, and if you have the insurance/money to pay for it, you still can.
I don't get the argument that we're going to end up single payer just because there's a public option... it's about as sound as the argument that obama is a nazi and that we're becoming communist.
Leaving doctors out of it, most of America against reform don't know what "single payer" or "public option" even means anyway, they're too busy sending out emails to all their church friends on how Obama is Lucifer incarnate and he's going to enslave the whites. I'm not making that ***** up either, you should try to have a conversation with these people if you want some entertainment. - biotch, on 10/18/2009, -4/+19maybe...
But 73% of doctors support a public option or a public ONLY health care system.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?story ... - DeadpoolPHP, on 10/18/2009, -4/+19And now It has -6 as I'm posting this one.
- Kaiosama, on 10/18/2009, -1/+15Yes, that doctor in particular is a racist.
Any other questions? -
