Good men and women within the party try to regain control, but......we'll see what happens.

    We're not alone... it's not as if there hasn't been racism in the news in the UK recently, for example.

Once it's out in the open, I think slowly but surely SOME people come to their senses that they didn't actually hate any PEOPLE, but hated the way they felt marginalized and slighted because of minorities.

    But there will always be idiots. I searched "I hate foreigners" on google today and got 2000 hits, then searched "anti-racism" and got a bazillion. The trend is good.

    That's the most biased comment I've read so far. Every race on this planet is racist on one level or another. I don't think Obama is a good candidate because I personally don't agree with his Legislature. The fact is I know a lot of hard core LIBERALS who won't vote for Obama and all of them are of mixed nationalities and religions.

    Newsflash: Not everyone in the US is racist. If we were, Obama wouldn't even be campaigning at all -- yes, that's the way it used to be. Racism is a serious problem in lots of other countries too.

Where exactly does the First Amendment stop a PRIVATE company from doing this? Please stop lumping every single thing, no matter how silly, under the blanket of "freedom of speech." The public forum is protected so that we may criticize the government, the church, companies, etc. The private forum is not regulated in this manner.

Blackwell was a complete scumbag (incredibly abuse of power through RACE BASED voter purges), no matter what race he is, where as Obama is the real deal: Brilliant, caring, charismatic, and an incredibly moving orator to whom the regular person matters. Obama is someone that can provide healing, Blackwell just provided more divisiveness.

    As far as racism in America, we have another 2 generations before it is 99% gone. I think we often forget just how awful our internal history truly is. For that, I blame our public education being left to corrupt state legislatures, making us 17th in the world.

The survival of a species does not hinge on one group liking or disliking another. Like I said, race is a social construct, it doesn't have a biological basis.

In Mexico I had been on a tour bus in which the guide was of Aztec descent was very vocal on the Spanish culture, and effects on his race. I've read in Rwanda I can't remember the names of the tribes Tutsi and hutsu that was just basically privileged non privileged war but if generalizations had to be made it was light Rwandans vs dark Rwandans.
    I remember watch Muhammed Ali telling the south Africans that they were better than American brothers. That even though black Americans had more money the Africans were rich with honesty and integrity.
    I remember that people used to tell polish jokes, and wop jokes. As a teenager we used to give out graphic blond jokes everyday to all blondes in our school. And jocks used to pick on nerds.
    What I am saying is I don't believe racism is a USA only issue. Sorry but my limited travels abroad have always undisclosed some unknown race issue to me.
    Racism is based on ignorance and the US is not the only country with race issues, and ignorant people.

    Dude, if you want to argue that way, I might as well say 'nature' is extremely liberal: For example nature 'gives' everyone the same amount of land, food and natural resources. And taxes them equally too (flood, hurricane, etc)
