dailykos.com — Guest host Rachel Maddow took over for Keith Olbermann and hit it out of the park. She beat O'Reilly by 100,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo.

- lsumed, on 05/20/2008, -18/+134She should 'do it live' more often. Better yet, give her a show.
- plimpton777, on 05/20/2008, -20/+3(pssst...***** thing sucks.)
- Acewrap, on 05/20/2008, -2/+6I didn't mind it but it seemed like she was doing an Olbermann impression. I like her better when she's acting herself.
- jabberwolf, on 05/20/2008, -21/+5This is the same night where Bill was OUT ?
and people flocking to see someone (anyone) but Keith Olbermann and his hypocracy?!
Yeah, sounds like a good recipe for her to beat Bill. Will it last? Probably not. - schuder, on 05/20/2008, -9/+1Am I the only one who noticed the demo? O'Reilly still clobbers Olbermann in ratings and clobbered Maddow too. Olbermann is at least as much a hack as O'Reilly, O'Reilly is just more of a douche.
- JointVenture, on 05/20/2008, -8/+1I want to see her go down on Anne Coulter, she is the butch one after all.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1go down on?

- junkwheel, on 05/20/2008, -2/+2OLBERMANN / MADDOW 2016!
- stix213, on 05/21/2008, -3/+2Considering Bill had a guest host, I don't think this means much. Especially when you add in the under 25 and the over 54 crowd Bill's show still stomped the competition royally.

She looks like a man. - mrgreenjeans9, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1she ought to have her own show for sure. get rid of tweety bird and give her a timeslot.
- kimhunter, on 09/18/2008, -0/+0The only show she should have is one with her hooked up to a lie detector while she talks and large "Lie" meter behind her.
Then everyone who tunes in to her show could see what a rabid liar she is. As a Democrat woman for over 30 years I am disgusted at her behavior.
She sounds and appears like a bitter lesbian who is jealous of Sarah Palins good looks and success and her decent husband. For the 1st time in 30 years I am thinking of voting Republican so this dynamic woman can show her stuff!
- moolaismyfriend, on 05/20/2008, -21/+106It's always inspiring to listen to a well educated articulate insightful news anchor.
Lets hope she gets her own show.- Ladymongoose, on 05/20/2008, -2/+16I agree. She is one of the funniest, smartest women on radio. She would kick ass with a TV show. You can also listen to her radio show nightly on Air America: http://airamerica.com/maddow/
- ProKid, on 05/20/2008, -2/+6They should give her the 6pm Tucker slot. Or maybe one of the Hardball or Countdown slots.

- lsumed, on 05/20/2008, -12/+26I miss Rachel's radio show podcast.

John- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/20/2008, -9/+3well he's right, what's on in that time slot on msnbc isn't journalism. It's political opine.... of course that's when there's time left to talk about something after the OCD review of what a host on another network is doing every day.
- bjornski, on 05/20/2008, -2/+4You sure you're not talking about O'Reilly?
- richbleak, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1You are a ***** tool. Signing your posts? You are so incredibly lame that my stomach hurts just thinking about it. Please fall into a ditch and die alone and weeping like a child. I wish every digg down represented a hard kick to your balls.

- AydenV2, on 05/20/2008, -10/+80If MSNBC is smart they will QUICKLY swoop in and give her a primetime slot.
- apothekari, on 05/20/2008, -3/+7Absolutely!
Maybe at least replace Tucker Carlsons stupid bowtie- wearin'- ass!- sugarazor, on 05/20/2008, -1/+5Tucker's show was replaced a few weeks ago by David Gregory's Race to the White House.
- Schmapdi, on 05/20/2008, -1/+1I Imagine that show will only last as long as the election though.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/20/2008, -0/+5They should get rid of that crappy "The Verdict" show and put her in its place.
- TheSwashbuckler, on 05/20/2008, -3/+1Olbermann wouldn't want the competition...
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/20/2008, -0/+3They'd be working for the same network in two different timeslots. That's not competition.
- TheSwashbuckler, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1It sure as hell is...
- dan222555, on 05/20/2008, -6/+2I guess beating a fill-in for O'Reilly is a huge victory for a channel that is failing as badly as MSNBC is...

- bjornski, on 05/20/2008, -1/+12Considering she's a lesbian, you'd be watching.

You dont think that looks like a man?- rdoger6424, on 05/20/2008, -2/+1Good god!
- bjornski, on 05/21/2008, -1/+3I don't care what she looks like. That's not why I like her.
But hey, leave it to the superficial types that can't get over their own bigotry and sexism to paint everyone else with that same brush.
I'm not sleeping with her. I don't give a damn what she looks like.
But if you value looks over brains in YOUR newscasters, I'm sure there will be a bleach-blond bimbo on at almost any moment on FOX.
I prefer brains. But that's just me, I guess. - JointVenture, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1You might want to take a look at Olbermans girlfriend, she said the same things you did.
Make sure you read her blog quote on the page first, its so funny considering Olbermans frosted hair and spray on tan.
and look at her,
http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2007/05/a_r ...
I havent watched fox news for years ya rainbow chasing *****. - bjornski, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1So because a well-paid newscaster has a pretty girlfriend he's a hypocraite?
She's not saying that all bleach-blond bimbos are bad, because obviously she IS one. But the fact that a news anchor is based on their looks, and not their intelligence is just revoltingly stupid.
I'm not getting my news from Keith's girlfriend, I don't care what SHE looks like either.
But again, if you want to judge your talking heads by how they look, and not what they say, go right ahead. "Ugh! She looks like a man! That's why you like her!"
Your ignorance and bigotry are showing.
- swrostmore, on 05/20/2008, -8/+109Yeah, but I bet O'Reilly STOMPED her in the 65-90 demo!

No, it's b/c they are stuck in there ways and aren't open to change. Noooo, I'm not talking about Obama's slogan but for instance, my grandmother just got a dvd player last year after vowing never to own one. And she down right refuses to get a computer, but would rather spend x amount of dollars weekly on newspapers... Sure this is a weak argument but the fact still remains that old people are are stubborn as hell! So to introduce a guy like Obama into a system that has never really deviated much from center practically means that Obama won't getting their vote. - SpinningHead, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1Hey, one of the best parts of being old is you can be a bastard and nobody calls you on it. Buried as inaccurate. O'Reilley's viewers have always been the AARP crowd. I'm sure he's not worried about losing eyes he never had.- Jexie, on 05/20/2008, -6/+6Considering the great majority of his viewers are seniors (we all know what happens in time...) he should be worried. He might have duped this generations old timers but I wouldn't expect others to get on his bandwagon as they get older.
- whataboutdave, on 05/20/2008, -4/+2Of course he should be worried about the future, but advertisers will throw money at him for some years still.
- korvan504521, on 05/20/2008, -0/+4won't he be retired by then? the guy is getting on up there himself already.

- oldhick, on 05/20/2008, -20/+10Does this mean they should dump Olbermann? Wouldn't you be concerned if your guest host was not only beating your competition, but beating the primary hosts ratings?

She's going to Hell, everyone at MSNBC is going to Hell, Olbermann is going to Hell, and everyone who watched this is going to Hell. Remember what your preacher said - God is unchanging. VERY LOUD NOISES!!! - dn11, on 05/20/2008, -0/+17LOL, you're the most obvious, worst troll ever. and you didn't even mention the fact that she is a lesbian. I would think that would make fire and brimstone shoot out of your eyeballs
- bjornski, on 05/20/2008, -0/+5And you know what? Women shouldn't be working, either. Or voting. Or have ANY way in news/politics at all. "Barefoot and pregnant! Back to the kitchen with ya'!", right?
Heck! Let's actually go back to laws based on an ancient book of fables and mystical *****! My neighbor worked on the Sabbath! (sat/sun, they're both *****), let's smite him! But wait, if I smite him for working on the sabbath, wouldn't that be considered work? Do I have to wait a day to kill my neighbor to please "God"?
I know! I'll sell my daughter into slavery, and take a slave from our neighboring country! I know I can own a Mexican slave, but what about a Canadian?
Hey know what? USURY! Let's get all Christian about USURY! When you can convince the banks to live under your "christian" rhetoric, maybe I'll start paying attention.
You say these things as if this is a "Christian" nation. Know what? It's not. Most of the people PRETEND to believe in that flavor of invisible sky fairy, but NOBODY LIVES ACCORDING TO THE RULES.
Christian in name only. Greedy, selfish ***** by action.
So again, you keep working to pull teachers out of schools, and take away the vote of women. Then you can go worship the idol of a man on a stick. You know, the kind "God" told you not to make.
You're not supposed to WORSHIP Jesus. You're supposed to worship HIS GOD, and ACT like he did. Again. 99% of Christians are "Christian" in name only. Not in deed.
But you tell us how your effort on bringing us back to the 4th century goes. - alliekins619, on 05/20/2008, -0/+5Worst. Troll. Ever.

- bjornski, on 05/20/2008, -1/+1I dunno, I've started to like Abrams lately. Heck, I've even gotten to like Scarborough.

- fantasmacanino, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1I'm not entirely sure Bill does.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/20/2008, -27/+15Well she's ridiculously liberally biased, so it's considered well balanced reporting.
The number 1 thing to take out of this is, who the FK are those people watching Nancy Grace? They are the ones keeping her on the air.- SeaMowse, on 05/20/2008, -7/+11Biased? Everything she says, she can back up with fact. How is that biased?
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/21/2008, -1/+2That's what every journalist is supposed to do. They still reach their own conclusions, especially the pundits like Maddow, who is, very biased, even if she does pick and choose facts to make her conclusion like most other logical people.
- swrostmore, on 05/20/2008, -10/+6It IS well balanced: MSNBC is the Fox News of the Left. Olbermann is just as bad a demagogue as O'Reilly (albeit more factual not to mention less annoying). You think only the right-wing is allowed to have a "news" channel to broadcast their talking points?
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/20/2008, -0/+5No, but I think left wing politicts having a near monopoly on main stream media wouldn't lead to so much bitching about right wing slant on 1 network. Before Fox News AM radio was the only place to get news story selection (that's a big portion of bias) and editorials with a conservative slant. Luckily I found the economist, which usually states any slants up front, doesn't pretend otherwise, and reports the facts. Even I'm starting to come around and can't watch Fox news for very long (Hannity is such a tool), but that goes for CNN and MSNBC too. I like the MSNBC election coverage, the rest is garbage.
- nick111, on 05/21/2008, -2/+1What you don't seem to understand is that America (and especially the media) has been taken over by ludicrously bent, right-wing zealots.
And they've ruined the country, and people like you have gone along with it - often, ironically in the name of patriotism.
The most left wing American politician is still very right wing by normal world standards. Can you understand that? You aren't normal.
Anything that questions authority has been labelled left wing. You people should be ashamed of yourself for what you have done. The actions (and inactions) of people like you have sold your children and quite possibly grandchildren into debt slavery.
You should be ashamed. - InnerRayg, on 05/21/2008, -0/+3I dunno what nick is smoking. In any case, I applaud you for recognizing bias in all it's forms. I hate it all, and I gotta say that Maddow, from what I've seen, does seem like a left talking piece much like O'Reilly is for the right. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would watch any news network with this kind of stuff on. It's not news, it's analysis. No thank you.
- NonLeftistDiggr, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2@nick111
No the media hasn't, how you came to that conclusion is a mystery of the world. Are most left politicians are not very right wing in the rest of the world, take the Moveon.org Che Guerva Bill Moyers blinders off your face, pick up an economist for god sake if you really want to know what you are talking about with the rest of the world, and get yourself educated.
Anything that questions authority has been labled left wing.
Well of course nicky!, since the lefty-bots like yourself don't believe controlling how people live with bullying from public sector unions, preventing school choice, taxes, gun laws, social program wealth redistribution, tort law, and fascism disguised as environmentalism, counts as "authority."
This crazy out of control right wing media has ruined this country!!! WTF, are you 12 years old? Did you just right your first political paper for government class? GTFOH
- nick111, on 05/21/2008, -2/+1What you don't seem to understand is that America (and especially the media) has been taken over by ludicrously bent, right-wing zealots.
- lattethunder, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Answer: my mother and other bitter divorcees.
- Pillage, on 05/22/2008, -1/+1Not even that, but man is she uuuugly. At least Bill-O gets a hotty like Ingram to fill in for him.
- SeaMowse, on 05/20/2008, -7/+11Biased? Everything she says, she can back up with fact. How is that biased?
- pintomp3, on 05/20/2008, -6/+15might we finally have and end to "I'M RIGHT BECAUSE I SCREAM LOUDER!" tv?
- DaDrake, on 05/20/2008, -3/+5And replace it with "I'm right because I have the most awesome passive aggressive attitude"
- kc23266, on 08/07/2008, -0/+0That's Rachel for ya.
- mco5t9, on 05/20/2008, -1/+5Or the "I'm right because I never bring on any guests that disagree with me" tv
- DaDrake, on 05/20/2008, -3/+5And replace it with "I'm right because I have the most awesome passive aggressive attitude"
- greenwald, on 05/20/2008, -7/+8She is solid. Though she needs a better haircut and I like to see her opposite a right leaning host who can make arguments to the counter in the same logical civil manner. ah, who am I kidding.
- InnerRayg, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1You don't understand. Civil arguments are not ENTERTAINING.
- lattethunder, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1A better haircut? Will that allow better ventilation for her brain, hence increasing her acumen and grasp of the days political news? WTF?!?
- motogoat, on 05/20/2008, -4/+33
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/20/2008, -0/+4Woah there guy, Rachel Maddow is actually pretty hot.
- korvan504521, on 05/20/2008, -4/+4am i the only one who thinks she looks like a guy? At least with look that google spat out.
- petebot, on 05/20/2008, -0/+3No, dude, I'm there with you...
- petebot, on 05/20/2008, -1/+1That being said, I think she's a great show host and activist...
- solid12345, on 05/20/2008, -0/+3No, honestly if she approached me on the street I would think she were a 17 year-old boy.
- ggacid, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1With all the hype everyone is talking about.. I was expecting a hot chick like that one French anchor Melissa Theuriau.. I googled the name and had to come back to make sure people were using "she" instead of "he"
- korvan504521, on 05/20/2008, -4/+4am i the only one who thinks she looks like a guy? At least with look that google spat out.
- dagzine, on 05/20/2008, -4/+1do you not realize how ridiculous your comment is, not matter how well-meaning you meant it?
it's sexist and just as gender constructed as an overtly sexist position. women should appear as you'd like them to be ... what about the men?
how about suggesting how the men should or shouldn't look.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/20/2008, -0/+4Woah there guy, Rachel Maddow is actually pretty hot.
- DaDrake, on 05/20/2008, -19/+15How is this really an achievement? If you look at Fox News... they are utterly crushing MSNBC and CNN. I find this amusing since years ago, I remember "TV analysis" saying Fox news would be a failure. Honestly, I like the fact that there are conservative analysis on TV ... it would be utterly unfair, retarded, and narrow-sighted to only allow liberal opinion pieces on air (as I think most diggers would prefer).
- acevoncash, on 05/20/2008, -5/+1the inverse is also true. enter fox news.
- pkulak, on 05/20/2008, -6/+7Reality has a well-known liberal bias.
- sgglynn, on 05/20/2008, -1/+4Fox News was a failure until they reformatted to put an American flag in every single spot possible. There is an image from a hannity and colmes episode floating around where something like 15 flags(digital) could be counted waving on the screen. The sheeple followed.
You may think every other news network is liberal, but that just shows you are listening to what fox tells you. They repeat on a regular basis that every news channel is liberal and they are the fair ones. They aren't. And they are NOT conservative, they have a neo-conservative agenda. There is a big, and real difference- DaDrake, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Actually... they are liberal. Commercial TV is more liberal than any public broadcasting, including NPR. When you read about these channels from watchdog groups, the BBC America is actually more conservative than CNN or MSNBC.
The the inverse is true with talk radio... where conservatives litteraly own the air-ways (Air America highlights their failure).
FOX is successful because they enter a niche where the market hadn't existed.... conservative talking points (Like O'Reilly and Hannity) were non-existent on other cable TV networks. - tkstock, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1There are multiple studies which have shown that Fox is the closest to the center of all the major TV news organizations - they are slightly right, all the others are much further to the left.
You can google it if you like, I read the most recent one on journalism.org which was an article about Campaign coverage. CNN was overwhelmingly favorable to Obama, less so to Clinton and the other Democrats, and they were more negative towards the Republican Candidates.
- DaDrake, on 05/21/2008, -0/+1Actually... they are liberal. Commercial TV is more liberal than any public broadcasting, including NPR. When you read about these channels from watchdog groups, the BBC America is actually more conservative than CNN or MSNBC.
- chrissku, on 05/20/2008, -14/+24Rachel Maddow is hands down the best political commentator in the country. She is both intelligent and balanced in her opinions. She does an amazing job.
- coresnake, on 05/20/2008, -2/+10What do you mean clobbers? To end the show?
- UnFriendlyFire, on 05/20/2008, -2/+1F*** it, I'll do it live.
- Commodore69, on 05/20/2008, -16/+6Dude's name is Rachel LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111
- jbenson2, on 05/20/2008, -13/+4So Rachel Maddow can clobber O'Reilly, something Olberman has not been able to do for the past couple years.
If MSNBC has any smarts, they will throw Olby to the dogs and let Rachel take over.- acevoncash, on 05/20/2008, -0/+6or put maddow in tuckers old slot instead of airing hardball twice a day. just a thought.
- Cumella, on 05/20/2008, -2/+7Except she didn't clobber O'Reilly really. E.D. Hill was hosting his show that night. That's like the Red Sox claiming victory over the Yankees after playing and beating their AAA team. Not truly a solid win.
- jbenson2, on 05/20/2008, -0/+2Get out of town! If E.D. Hill substituted, then the Dailykos was not telling the truth.
Say it ain't so. The Dailykos fudging the figures? Yeah, I guess it is possible. Most of the Dailykos writers are fudge packers anyways.
- jbenson2, on 05/20/2008, -0/+2Get out of town! If E.D. Hill substituted, then the Dailykos was not telling the truth.
- dracostimpy, on 05/20/2008, -10/+5***** OR GTFO

- PopePhred, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1(A'la Chris Matthews) Ha! That, sir, brought a smile to my face. Or, to put it more succinctly: LOL.
Well played!
- RedHeadedFreak, on 05/20/2008, -22/+19Liberal media, GOOD. Conservative media, BAD
Digg is so predictable and hypocritical.- troymccluresf, on 05/20/2008, -9/+7Yeah, and?
No seriously. Conservatives are apparently hellbent on destroying the planet, one melanin-saturated, oil-rich country at a time, and liberals, while not perfect, at least have the sense to try to make things a little *less* ***** up.
So yes, shame on you, Digg, for not supporting this dangerous administration and for not sticking your head in the sand every time reality rears its ugly head. Even though we all know reality has a well-known liberal bias.
To be clear, it'd be even better if people learned to think for their own goddamn selves, but sometimes we gotta make do with what's in front of us.- ajamison, on 05/20/2008, -0/+3That's the important thing - having people learn to think for themselves - critical analysis and independent thought! I don't want to get rid of one biased ideology only to replace it with an equally biased one on the other end of the spectrum. More "yes men/women" leads to the same song, different tune.
- dagzine, on 05/20/2008, -6/+3hmmm. digging things is pretty democratic. you only get one digg per topic. so. it might just be that nobody appreciates conservative media.
and calling FOX conservative is ridiculous. FOX is simply down with whomever has power. FOX isn't conservative; FOX is fascist.
Hannity is not a conservative. Hannity probably doesn't even know conservative history. His pov is not in line with tradition. He is a paid bigot. - lewhich, on 05/20/2008, -5/+3It not about LIBERAL or CONSERVATIVE media. Its about FACT vs rhetoric
- InnerRayg, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1And it's about recognizing that neither side has cornered the market on either.
Assuming one's own side is infallible is the best proof that it is not.
- InnerRayg, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1And it's about recognizing that neither side has cornered the market on either.

Maddow beat fill-in host E.D. Hill, not O'Reilly.- korvan504521, on 05/20/2008, -2/+9shh, don't bother telling them that. they don't want to hear it.
seriously guys, let go of the hate. . . i mean, we KNOW digg hates o'reilly. . .but does it have to be so passionate? get some new hobbies. . .

- jasoninoakland, on 05/20/2008, -7/+22I knew Rachel in college (she and I were 2 of a handful of "out" people in our freshman class, so we found each other) and I can say from experience that Rachel not only knows her stuff, she is a highly principled person, too. It's great to see her finding an audience with the intelligence to appreciate her. Little known fact: she had long blond hair in college!

- john2kx, on 05/20/2008, -10/+4Wow, if that beat O'Reilly, his show must have really sucked... which wouldn't surprise me.
- texasag03, on 05/20/2008, -3/+15"She beat O'Reilly by 100,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo."
Yeah, but he beat her by 445,000 in the overall viewers. Probably just curiosity...- dagzine, on 05/20/2008, -9/+2then what is it that attracts people to OReilly?
probably just hatred or something like morbid stupidity.
i'll take curiosity every time, mate, every time.- Mabx86, on 05/20/2008, -2/+2Maybe its just the fact that the entire US population isn't liberal also known as the digg community. People do have different view points.
- dagzine, on 05/20/2008, -9/+2then what is it that attracts people to OReilly?
- BlacklabelSAR, on 05/20/2008, -3/+6Hot Lesbian News Action.
- bigfinger, on 05/20/2008, -6/+4100,000? Thats not a whole lot
- hansonc, on 05/20/2008, -4/+7Am I the only one who would rather see the news on the news channels instead of any of these dumbass talking heads? This includes O'Reilly, Olbermann, Grace, King and any of the other dumbasses who's names don't matter.
It really pisses me off when I want current news and can't even get the news on Headline News because there's some dumbass telling me how much the President sucks instead of telling me the current news.- jasoninoakland, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1I tend to agree with you a bit, although not as forcefully. I don't mind that they exist, but rather that some of them pretend to be newspeople and use up a lot of space that should be reserved for news.
- rjn17960, on 05/20/2008, -1/+1Absolutely. The fact that the President sucks isn't news, we've known that for quite awhile.
- dan222555, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1There are like 2 hours out of everyday on FNC that are commentary programs. You can get the news the rest of the day. Trust me I just watched hours and hours of coverage about Ted Kennedy...
- nick111, on 05/21/2008, -1/+1Yea, but with a caveat:
I'm in Australia now with about 500 cable stations...
And there's nothing with an American accent that you can call news. It's all really really weak. If there's anything that goes against the status quo, it simply isn't reported, and most of the time there's a strong republican/conservative slant even though these people are a laughing stock to the rest of the planet. I mean something that's obviously ommited in US news is just how badly damaged America's international repututation has become. Seriously.
If you're American, and you can't get a foriegn news service, then it's highly likely that you can't get news at all.
Nothing to do with talking heads of course, but at least with a non-establishment talking head, you'll hear something that the others are trying to hide from you.
Who was it? Hearst? who said "News is always something that someone somewhere is trying to hide. Everything else is advertising"
Well that's all you're getting right now. Advertising.
- vinnyvenus, on 05/20/2008, -1/+9But what about overall rating ? I am pretty sure Bill O Reilly would beat her in that.
- stix213, on 05/20/2008, -9/+26Buried as Inaccurate, the article states that these are the full results of the 8pm eastern time slot, but then only show the 25-54 demographic instead of the full results.
Full results for all viewers is below:
8pm
FNC O'Reilly - 1545
CNN Brown - 754
MSNBC Countdown - 1100
HLN Grace - 540
As you can see, when actually looking at the "full results" Bill O'Reilly still smokes everyone by a very wide margin.- defska42, on 05/20/2008, -5/+3I think the article is pretty clear that they are referring to the 25-54 demographic. But, people are going to see what they want to see, I guess.
- stix213, on 05/20/2008, -2/+3From the article:
"Here's the full results for the 8:00 Eastern time slot:
8p:
FNC O'Reilly:
309
CNN Brown:
246
MSNBC Countdown:
416
HLN Grace:
122
Rachel had the highest rated show for the night, by a lot. She added 130,000 viewers to her lead in. It's hard to imagine how anybody at MSNBC could not be really impressed."
Yeah that's pretty clear.- defska42, on 05/20/2008, -2/+1The sentence before that: "She beat O'Reilly by 100,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo." Those are the full results from the 25-54 demo; "full" meaning all 4 networks.
- tkstock, on 05/22/2008, -0/+1Rachel beat O'Reilly's stand-in by 30% in the 25 to 54 demographic between 28 and 29.7 north latitude and 77.2 and 77.3 west longitude for those people in homes valued between $120K and $142K with 2 cats and a dog and no children, excluding those people with two or more legs and a hat.
Yeah, she trounced him. I bet he's really worried. /sarchasm
- stix213, on 05/20/2008, -2/+3From the article:
- jasoninoakland, on 05/20/2008, -6/+2Yes, you mustn't forget that O'Reilly's key demographic is the 80+ set, which helps explain why his key sponsors are Depends adult undergarments, and the Clapper.
- dan222555, on 05/20/2008, -1/+10The article also neglects to mention that O'Reilly was off yesterday. Somebody was filling in for him. And the show still beat everything else in overall ratings...
- junkwheel, on 05/20/2008, -5/+3Not in the people with average IQ or higher demographic.
He gets fifty seven viewers in that category, all of which are only watching to hate him more. - chrgrose, on 05/21/2008, -0/+2They don't call it the boob tube for nothing.
- defska42, on 05/20/2008, -5/+3I think the article is pretty clear that they are referring to the 25-54 demographic. But, people are going to see what they want to see, I guess.
- phrenzy, on 05/20/2008, -2/+6In all fairness to Bill, There were no words there.
