- NiftyG, on 04/10/2009, -5/+284"Presumably if he is being teabagged while doing so, the message will be a bit muffled"
Brilliant. - jhuckabee, on 04/10/2009, -9/+278"Who wouldn't want to tea-bag John McCain?"
Classic! - apeywoo, on 04/10/2009, -10/+251steele looking to "harness the power of mass-organized public teabagging" but denied!!!
- indubitably, on 04/10/2009, -9/+233Will they be serving fishsticks at these tea bagging parties?
- Delphium226, on 04/10/2009, -31/+245Dear Joe TeaBagging Shmoes
Thanks for fighting to keep our taxes low. We promise to keep that 'trickle down effect' going as long as we can, i.e. while it doesn't effect our god-given rights to drive lots of supercars, fly in private jets, and have and indecent number of mansions dotted around the world in beautiful places.
Anyway, just wanted to say we love you guys and appreciate all the hard work and the fact that you're prepared to give even more of your blood and sweat to us.
Yours Sincerely,
The Rich Minority
ps. Don't think you're getting paid for taking time off work to go participate in any teabagging events. Times are tough you know! - orion846, on 04/10/2009, -12/+218republicans, you keep using this word. I do not think it means, what you think it means.
- entropysteak, on 04/10/2009, -20/+191i snickered like a little girl while watching this.
- britva836, on 04/10/2009, -16/+152 "TEABAG OBAMA! Screw it, let's teabag the entire congress. That'll show'em!" For homophobes, conservatives seem to get off on the idea of a pendulous scrotum coming towards their faces.
- flickerbrain, on 04/10/2009, -24/+144Because we all know that the conservative right would NEVER make a laughing stock of American citizens....
- Thomaschaaf, on 04/10/2009, -7/+126Ana Marie Cox made it worse :D "People have been teabagging for a long time"
- paintgrl, on 04/10/2009, -16/+134Yeah I love nuts on my forehead. Woo hoo Tea Bag Party. Where do I sign up?
- JesusSaidSo, on 04/10/2009, -7/+102Uhh.. if I recall, the tax on tea was cut for the British and then increased on the colonies to compensate.
Then we got buck wild and destroyed the tea so no one could have it. - 1nhuman, on 04/10/2009, -2/+89Dumb European here.
Isn't teabagging a very common term for.. you know the whole balls + face thing?
I'm confused. - novenator, on 04/10/2009, -3/+83The funniest bit I've seen her do. She and her guest had a tough time keeping a straight face at times.
- Mexrocker, on 04/10/2009, -4/+84WOW, There were instances where I thought I was watching an Onion video, I just couldn't take it seriously... especially with them bringing out Cox to talk about teabagging.
- zumpiez, on 04/10/2009, -2/+80No no, you got it, that's the joke
- sarahlee, on 04/10/2009, -14/+86Because it is so fake:
How it started:
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/2/28/202318 ...
and from http://thinkprogress.org/2009/04/09/lobbyists-plan ...
"Despite these attempts to make the “movement” appear organic, the principle organizers of the local events are actually the lobbyist-run think tanks Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Works. The two groups are heavily staffed and well funded, and are providing all the logistical and public relations work necessary for planning coast-to-coast protests:
– Freedom Works staffers coordinate conference calls among protesters, contacting conservative activists to give them “sign ideas, sample press releases, and a map of events around the country.”
– Freedom Works staffers apparently moved to “take over” the planning of local events in Florida.
– Freedom Works provides how-to guides for delivering a “clear message” to the public and media.
– Freedom Works has several domain addresses — some of them made to look like they were set up by amateurs — to promote the protests.
– Americans for Prosperity is writing press releases and planning the events in New Jersey, Arizona, New Hampshire, Missouri, Kansas, and several other states." - BeefEnchilada, on 04/10/2009, -11/+76Fox is actually promoting these tea bag parties. There they go being "fair and balanced" again.
- bicyclethief, on 04/10/2009, -13/+75To the Republicans on now being the powerless political minority: "It's supposed to taste like a ***** taco." - Jon Stewart.
- miggie, on 04/10/2009, -3/+63The Republican Party only has missionary sex so they don't know that.
- entropysteak, on 04/10/2009, -5/+65teabagging is nuts in your mouth not on your forehead.
- novenator, on 04/10/2009, -61/+113Somebody needs to tell the tea baggers that the original Boston Tea Party was over a tax cut.
These people are all pawns of astroturfing. Even CNBC's Santelli doesn't want to have anything to do with them anymore. - inactive, on 04/10/2009, -15/+662 years ago, Conservatives would've called these people TRAITORS.
- portnoy, on 04/10/2009, -3/+53Dude, McCain DEFINATELY looks like a biter to me.
- walrusryan, on 04/10/2009, -8/+56I never thought I would laugh out loud while watching MSNBC... I was gravely mistaken.
- inactive, on 04/10/2009, -2/+50Why do you want fishsticks what are you a gay fish?
- LeftieLucy, on 04/10/2009, -12/+58This is beautiful - they are treating the teabagging with all the seriousness it deserves! Hilarious!
- bombmaster2, on 04/10/2009, -6/+52"mass, organized public tea bagging" lol
- MelekTawus, on 04/10/2009, -11/+53You know, if they wanted to be taken seriously, they shouldn't have chosen a form of protest that shares the name of a hilarious sex act.
- tidu, on 04/10/2009, -7/+485urr3al5am, for the last 8 years all I've heard from republicans is "Don't question the president!"
It's also laughable that Bush spent hundreds of billions on another country to destroy and rebuild it, and now people are complaining that we're spending money on our own country to improve its infrastructure. And what did conservatives expect to happen after wasting billions on Iraq? Lower taxes? What a ***** joke. - MelekTawus, on 04/10/2009, -9/+49Hawaii
- lisaawesome, on 04/10/2009, -2/+40And of course they had someone with the name Cox on to talk about teabagging!
- nemodomi, on 04/10/2009, -14/+51Teapot/teakettle, Pal.
- MrSlumberjack, on 04/10/2009, -1/+36I like to put fishsticks in my mouth
- Semblance, on 04/10/2009, -9/+42Ha ha ha ha! I don't know how Rachel and Ana kept a straight face throughout all of this.
- po43292, on 04/10/2009, -1/+34Dugg for "pendulous".
- dafragsta, on 04/10/2009, -3/+36I AM NOT A GAY FISH!
- paintgrl, on 04/10/2009, -2/+35well the guy had bad aim, ok Geeze.
- dn11, on 04/10/2009, -4/+37"NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION" was the slogan of the day. We had an election in November. Obama laid out his policy on taxes and America voted in favor of it. That's the democratic system that was the goal of the Boston Tea party and the revolution in the first place.
- MWeather, on 04/10/2009, -4/+35Actually the Colonies paid less tax on tea than the British. Tea imported into Britain had a 25% tax. If it was re-exported to the colonies, that tax was refunded. They then added an additional tax (less than 25%) on tea in the colonies.
This not only made tea cheaper than it was, but it was now cheaper than smuggled Dutch tea.
We were pissed about a tax placed only on the colonies and not elsewhere, no matter if it meant cheaper tea or not. It was the principle of it. - britva836, on 04/10/2009, -7/+37Putting your balls on America!
- scalded, on 04/10/2009, -6/+35I need a rule 34 for women in their mid-30s talking about testicles ironically.
- dreamofspirals, on 04/10/2009, -4/+33....thanks for once again proving the failed Bush policy of "No Child Left Behind"
- inactive, on 04/10/2009, -3/+31Everyone who attends the teabagging parties leaves with a free pearl necklace!
- Maddoktor2, on 04/10/2009, -14/+42buried for idiocy
- orion846, on 04/10/2009, -3/+30i was trying to give the delivery some style, a la inigo montoya. c'mon.
- MrSlumberjack, on 04/10/2009, -1/+28When she said "Who wouldn't wanna teabag John McCain" I couldn't stop cracking up
- Ford_Prefect2nd, on 04/10/2009, -6/+32Digg is not your own personal wikipedia, Google, Yahoo...
- kemp34, on 04/10/2009, -7/+33It should be noted that the modern "Tea Party" idea was first formulated by Constitution/Libertarian/Principled Conservative folks supporting Ron Paul in the 2008 campaign.
The original "Tax Day" Money Bomb raised over $6 million in one day for his campaign, all grassroots organized. -
