There are 55 electors in California
there are 3 in Montana and
there are 9 in Louisiana...
that is 68 total electors he could win!! In a close election that would throw the actual voting for the President to the House of Representatives..
Each elector casts one vote for President and one vote for Vice President. In order to be elected, a candidate must have a majority (at least 270) of the electoral votes cast for that office. Should no candidate for President win a majority of the electoral votes, the choice is referred to the House of Representatives.[5] Should no candidate for Vice President possess a majority of the electoral votes, the choice is given to the Senate.[6]
If that were to happen... It is very possible that with the state of the economy the house could end up voting for him as Pres. or VP... anything is possible... - TruthExposed, on 10/23/2008, -1/+19Somebody worked REALLY hard to make this happen, and I guarantee the establishment will see this, whether or not they acknowledge it or not, they will see it.
- voicce, on 10/23/2008, -0/+16There is no elected official right now more knowledgeable and honest than Ron Paul. He warned us of the looming budget crises before it happened, clearly explains why it happened. Ditto he warned us abount blowback and moral wrong of unprovoked wars over many years.
For peace and budget sanity, vote Ron Paul. - rlmcintosh, on 10/23/2008, -0/+14More people know who "Joe the Plumber" is than know what the Libertarians stand for, or who the Constitution Party is, or the Reform Party, let alone who their candidate is. Now these same folks that are cognizant of Joe the Plumber know who Ron Paul is. Remember: It's not about the man...its about the MESSAGE. And the name Ron Paul spreads the message of less government, less taxes, and sound money far better than Bob Barr. (Besides, what's up with that guy anyway? Is he intentionally trying to ruin the Libertarian party? geesh! what a tool bag.) So on election day not only do we have the benefit of writing in the exact guy we want and need to be our president, RON PAUL -Republican, we will also be effectively spreading a message to the masses who will be plopped in front of their TVs. And as a bonus, we will be letting the Republican Party know they effectively screwed up and that they will have to re-brand in order to win the white house ever again.
RON PAUL 08! - macinit1138, on 10/24/2008, -0/+8Neither Obama/McCain is getting MY vote. I'll vote AGAINST the 2-party duopoly that has done nothing but strip us of our rights and bankrupt our nation! I like to have one more choice than communism on my ticket.
- groverblue, on 10/23/2008, -2/+9why did him down? Ron Paul said it himself: vote for a third party. The Revolution is about really really changing thin and restoring the Constitution. Right now, a third party vote is the best way to accomplish that. I'm voting for Bob Barr and the Libertarian Party.
- TruthExposed, on 10/23/2008, -1/+8See which parties have nominated him in those 3 states.

- emazur, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5"Great men do not seek power, they have power thrust upon them"
So true in this case - Ron Paul has dropped out of the race but his supporters will not let up. Congrats to the hard working people of CA, MT, and LA for making this appen. You might argue that Paul WAS seeking power by running for president in the first place, but you could counter that by saying his goal is to greatly reduce the powers of big government.
Also, who do they have down for VP? - j.carcinogen, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4US Presidential Write-in Candidate Requirements for each State: http://writein2008.blogspot.com/
- dreicher, on 10/24/2008, -1/+5Great news for this Californian. I'm glad to know I will be able to vote for someone I agree with for a change and have my vote count. I couldn't care less if he receives .000001% of the vote here - knowing I will be in that group is good enough for me.

Obama is a socialist.. (in hiding) he wants to take your guns... (no 2nd amendment) force you to pay $$ into another gov health care scheme... and wants to send more troops to Afghanistan...... NO CHANGE THERE.. JUST MORE GOV. BS... vote Ron Paul if you want real change!! - odigity, on 10/24/2008, -0/+1I'm a huge Ron Paul supporter, but I am capable of appreciating alternative pro-liberty perspectives. Here's a very insightful one that I recommend everyone consider:

- MrObjectional, on 10/24/2008, -3/+3"very possible"?
Really? What are you smoking? - blarch, on 10/23/2008, -7/+6well i'm going to not vote for him since he said that he isn't running and has endorsed third party candidates
http://www.lolcats.com/view/24710/ - Redline500, on 10/23/2008, -9/+7At this point it would be much better to use your vote for Bob Barr. Obama has this election in the bag, but Nov. 5th reports of a third party candidate taking 7-10% of the popular vote would go a long way towards waking up the average Joe to the fact that they have another option! Our government needs get back to the principals that made it great!
- bobtheunholy, on 10/24/2008, -3/+0He's not even on the ballot in Ohio and not recognized as a write-in. So yeah.. no point really. Why not vote for a third party to get our system less polarized if you're going to chuck your vote in trash anyway.
- bobtheunholy, on 10/24/2008, -3/+0I'm voting for Obama actually. I like Ron Paul, but voting for him in this election is a waste of a vote unfortunately.
- beastmoon, on 10/24/2008, -3/+0I'm not sure that this is true, I think I need to check this out....I still trust Obama in this election
thanks... - nomorepaul, on 10/24/2008, -11/+1buried as spam
- mannyqui, on 10/23/2008, -20/+2I got news for you.... he is not going to win..... Oh... but his party is if you vote for him.... hmmmmm
