- rwiggum, on 10/27/2009, -13/+201Republicans prove once again that they don't get the basic human decency thingy.
- awinters, on 10/26/2009, -18/+174I call SUSPECT!!!!! Because I find it hard to believe anyone on that site can spell or understand "miscegenation."
Poor RNC. They keep trying to say "we aren't racist" then this stuff happens. The true Republicans have got to take their party back from these people because images like this only reinforce what people suspect. I know many Republicans and they are not racist, but if they don't handle these people at some point, they deserve to be branded by them. This photo should not have been allowed to stay up for a day, let alone a week. - Trigonometron, on 10/27/2009, -8/+163I didn't know they had wifi at Walmart
- slifty, on 10/27/2009, -3/+141since when was cowboy an anti-white racist term? Chuck Norris is gonna kick your ass.
- MalarkeyPN, on 10/26/2009, -22/+124Okay, I'm a liberal. I wonder if that picture was posted by a liberal and was intended to be a parody, and the republicans just didn't get the joke for a week. It just LOOKS like a parody to me.
Not that this would excuse leaving the pic up for a week, unless the admins are too lazy to look at what people post in their own photos section. No matter how it happened, this is just more proof that Republicans suck at internet. - rwiggum, on 10/27/2009, -8/+101Racist according to pretty much anyone with a soul.
- sarahlee, on 10/27/2009, -11/+78From Think Progress: "While it’s likely that the RNC “wasn’t aware the racist photo was on their page and it wasn’t produced or posted by anyone at the RNC,” the group had attacked MoveOn.org for a similar incident in 2004. As Chris Harris at Media Matters Action Network notes, when “a web user posted a self-produced web video that compared President Bush to Hitler as part of a MoveOn.org video contest, the RNC acted as if the video had been produced by MoveOn itself.” According to the National Journal:
“This is the worst and most vile form of political hate speech,” Republican National Committee spokesman Ed Gillespie proclaimed. “MoveOn.org should apologize.”"
MoveOn apologized. Will the RNC? - MelekTawus, on 10/27/2009, -5/+62"Cowboy" and "Redneck" are not anti-white (no, you do not capitalize it) terms. There are plenty of non-white cowboys and rednecks.
http://www.billpickettrodeo.com/ - rwiggum, on 10/27/2009, -2/+55I guess you don't understand what free speech is, or how it at all applies to this. (hint: it doesn't)
- redlantern64, on 10/27/2009, -2/+52No, eating fried chicken in and of itself is clearly not racist.
When you show an African American eating fried chicken on a racist propaganda poster...well...that's a different story entirely. - ironhide, on 10/27/2009, -3/+51One of the biggest racist scumbags on Digg is claiming something isn't racist. This is my total lack of surprise.
- pilot3033, on 10/27/2009, -4/+50I find it more amusing that the RNC called it "the worst and most vile form of political hate speech" but have been calling Obama "Hitler" and "Nazi" since before he even took office.
Credibility=0 - tovarish22, on 10/27/2009, -3/+44Best comment ever.
- r1y23, on 10/27/2009, -4/+41I cant really tell you what I think about those photos....I really cant. But I want fried chicken now.
- absurdist, on 10/27/2009, -13/+48There is, however, a long detailed written record here on Digg documenting mollydog12's dementia, racism, and general *****.
http://digg.com/users/mollydog12. - DDRSkata, on 10/27/2009, -3/+38Yeah, promoting racial stereotypes while calling for the end of interracial marriage is not racist at all.
- Eight7, on 10/27/2009, -4/+39As a conservative, the people defending the photos on this thread are an absolutle ***** disgrace to conservatives everywhere. I encourage all true conservatives to call out these morons out on their ***** whenever you encounter them.
- twiztidsinz, on 10/27/2009, -2/+36While it is insulting, that's not racist.
Whites were never compared to monkeys to imply lower intelligence.
Another example, while maybe not exactly racism, would be a Jewish person hording a bag of gold/money (while it is a religion and not a race, you can draw the parallels). - twiztidsinz, on 10/27/2009, -0/+32JessicaWinters is a troll account.
Look at its "About" section and its comments. - fuzzynyanko, on 10/27/2009, -4/+36Actually, recently, some whites have taken the term "Redneck" as a term of pride.
- crunchdigg, on 10/27/2009, -2/+33don't hold your breath. This is just another way of pushing their position without taking responsibility.
- JK1150, on 10/27/2009, -19/+49These are fan posted facebook pictures, meaning all you have to do is have a facebook account, join the RNC group, and you are able to post a fan picture. This is like saying Digg is racist because of racism in the comments section.
- slifty, on 10/27/2009, -2/+32Your questions and your demands make no sense. Nobody said eating fried chicken was racist.
- Loonacy, on 10/27/2009, -0/+29"hours after a liberal news forum brought attention to a series of days old controversial photos"
The photos were up for "nearly a week" but were taken down "hours after" someone pointed them out. Next time try reading the article. - absurdist, on 10/27/2009, -6/+35"The true Republicans have got to take their party back from these people because images like this only reinforce what people suspect."
What in the wide world of sports makes you think these people are anything but "true" Republicans? The "No True Scotsman" argument gets very old. - ironhide, on 10/27/2009, -4/+31So you speak for your entire race? Did you take a poll before you posted this comment? How do you know that some of the people who are calling this racist aren't black as well?
- DDRSkata, on 10/27/2009, -4/+30I'm black and, unlike idontknowpizza, I'm intelligent enough to see that this picture is incredibly racist.
- falconear, on 10/27/2009, -5/+31You're a liar. I can't imagine one *real* black person who wouldn't finding a picture of Obama eating chicken with a caption to end miscegenation to be offensive and racist.
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/27/2009, -3/+28BushChimp is racist? Showing an unflattering image of Obama eating chicken with a demand to criminalize race-mixing isn't racist?
I don't know if you're black, but I do know you're an idiot. - 7m7uf, on 10/27/2009, -1/+26Monkey is not a term used to describe white people; it was however used to describe black people (Porch Monkey), along with coon, jiggaboo, n**gerr and a lot of other names.
Those pictures are about a PERSON, irregardless of race; actaully to go out on a limb, i'd say it a very good chance someone of the same race as Bush created that image.
However, If they were to call Bush a cracker, then it would be racist. Redneck is also not a racist term, because it's not broadly used to define people by race, neither is cowboy. Those terms being used is more likely due to mannerisms, dress, accents and location. - bigheadstu, on 10/27/2009, -18/+42way to keep it classy RNC...
- schuenator, on 10/27/2009, -7/+31Well thank goodness they reposted the photos back on here so I can save them and post them on facebook
- xKore, on 10/27/2009, -1/+24Why did you assume that everyone showing outrage to this is white?
- brese1200, on 10/27/2009, -8/+30Not at all... I found that they aren't moderating their comments either and submitted it to digg also...

Here is the a link to the snapshot of the comment thread. Effin hilarious.
http://i38.tinypic.com/jgqptv.jpg - ironhide, on 10/27/2009, -2/+23Then, *moron* your sentence should have read - "I'm tired of of white people telling ME when something is racist."
- fishbeef33, on 10/27/2009, -3/+24Nearly 1/3 of all 19th century cowboys were black.
- NightEmber79, on 10/27/2009, -0/+20Yeah, but it's wifi-tes only...
- Hetman, on 10/27/2009, -1/+21They have free speech. They also have to take responsibility for there free speech. You always hear this excuse from racists and bigots. Well what about free speech? You have free speech and I have the free speech to point out that what you said was racist.
- ironhide, on 10/27/2009, -6/+26"I'm tired of white people telling US when something is racist"
Sounds like you're speaking for more than yourself to me.
I think my reading comprehension is just fine, thank you. - ironhide, on 10/27/2009, -3/+22Then who is *US* are you royalty?
- Hetman, on 10/27/2009, -1/+20No one is saying that. You can use free speech to be a racist. If you are in a public position and you value votes it is probably not the best bet though. I would argue that the majority of people are against racism.
- Aero347, on 10/27/2009, -1/+19What part was supposed to be funny again? Oh sorry your FAIL is showing.
- archiesteel, on 10/27/2009, -1/+19"I'm black and I'm tired of white people telling us when something is racist."
Why exactly do you think they chose a picture of him eating fried chicken?
Also, people do not have a color on Digg. We should always debate posts based on their content, not who made them. If you have no problem with people using racist imagery to highlight a racist comment (i.e. "no miscegenation"), that's your right, but you can't fault others for disagreeing.
As far as Bush is concerned, there is nothing racist in comparing a white man to a monkey, as this has not been a historical anti-white slur. Context is everything, as others have said above. - 7m7uf, on 10/27/2009, -2/+20I'm white and this is racist. I'm sorry, moran, that i have to inform you what is and isn't racist, shouldn't have skipped 2nd grade history for the entire month of February. But here in the southern part of the country it's a reasonalble to find someone that associates a love of chicken, watermelon and colt 45's as a "Black" thing -- never mind the fact that i too love those things (minus the 45, more of a Boulevard or Spatan man myself). Though the picture is hilarious, you have to think of it in the context it's shown:
We will have to pair that image up with with another common way of thinking that is down here;being that whites are better and shouldn't be mixin' with the 'colors' -- the old laundry way of thinking. Though this way of thinking in itself very definition of racism, the image adds to it -- making it a double whammy of racism.
I'm sorry if you believe that mixes should not be allowed to mix no matter how much one loves another or if you don't fall into the stereotypical paradigm and cannot relate to loving to eat chicken (honestly, just dip it in some honey, ***** delicious). But the average person knows these myths and stereotypes exist, and they're used commonly to point out differences in people's racial background in a derogatory manner. - xKore, on 10/27/2009, -1/+19@idontknowpizza
When you say 'us' you are speaking for a group. You can't admit being wrong so you come up with childish name-calling responses. - Bookant, on 10/27/2009, -1/+18I think we got a whole lot of wingnut who don't know what miscegenation means, leading to one big giant collective WHOOSH.
- geodebug, on 10/27/2009, -1/+16Well, before us liberals get too high on our own farts we need to acknowledge that we have plenty of unsavory types in our fringe-groups.
The RNC, probably out of desperation, isn't taking charge of its image and is letting the racists, the Becks and Limbaughs, and the Orly's speak for them.
We can learn an important lesson from this in that, even when we lose power (politics is a pendulum), we should make sure we weed out the extremists and weak-minded early and often. - MalarkeyPN, on 10/27/2009, -1/+16She's more a parody than a troll. Everything the account's author writes is basically making fun of the stereotype this JessicaWinters character represents. Ignorant rich ditz. It's like someone wandered away from Myspace and accidentally ended up on Digg. Some of it is really quite funny. I'm a fan.
- awinters, on 10/27/2009, -0/+14I'm black too and it doesn't make any difference if you're black or white. Any image of a mixed race person put with words that say race mixing is a crime and should be outlawed is racist. It just is. Just because someone may have done the same to someone else doesn't change the fact that this is racist.
