Those Muslims need to be kept out, what with their cooperation with tough immigration, desire to become citizens legally, and willingness to set their own lives back year after year for the chance to live in America. They obviously have no desire to become contributing citizens whatsoever!

States don't *have* to give citizenship to anyone -- BUT, if they do give citizenship at all, they're not allowed to discriminate when doing it. That's a violation of international law and it's a betrayal of America's fundamental values of non-discrimination and equality.
And yes, immigrants from everywhere should be allowed to come here. But if we're making obtuse and inane generalizations about where "smart" and "deserving" immigrants are coming from, then why would we allow Koreans in, when one of them went on a shooting rampage last week? And why would we allow Indians in? -- they're also part of the group that's being profiled by these policies.
For the record, all the people being profiled here *are* patriotic, they've done everything right, they've passed every test, and they're dying to be citizens. The most patriotic and American thing we can do here is to not be discriminating hypocrites and to let them become full members of society. - beka670, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2great story

We want people who will contribute to the economy and become patriotic citizens. We have no need for Muslim fifth columnists.
