- zobcat, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16This man is a snake. He spoke at my brother's graduation a few years ago in Houston. I'm not sure, but I think I smelled sulfur.
- rm999, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1Actually, we cannot fire him.
- kent1146, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4"President Bush won't fire Attorney General Alberto Gonzales... but YOU can!"
Ummm... can we fire President Bush instead? - Cwo655321, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2sorry, i'm a bit weary about putting personal information on a website i know nothing about.
- firehydra2k, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2I don't remember this being a place to lure thousands of mindless idiots to sign a petition. I can't believe I wasted 15 seconds of my life thinking this was an actual news entry...

wow... a Burning Bush. Just like in the Bible. - Oatlord, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0Where was the public outcry when Janet Reno, the attorney general under Clinton, fired ALL (that's 93 attorneys versus Gonzales' 8) U.S. attorneys?? Where were the petitions and the public outrage and comments like "Please add your name and restore accountability and ethical leadership to the United States Justice Department. We can make a difference." Maybe it's because Bush has an R by his name instead of a D?
And if I were Gonzales (or any government official for that matter), I would answer "I do not recall" to ANY question asked of me because I wouldn't want some politically motivated perjury charge to come my way for some completely unrelated comment I made, a la Scooter Libby, just so the other side can thump their chests over hanging a member of the other party.
Point is, all politicians are the same. Why are you all putting so much effort and attention into Bush as if he and his administration is the only dirty politician in our country? How about some of those New England senators that have been in office for longer than I've been alive?
- Danalorraine, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16If you want to join in urging Congress to fire Gonzales, there will be rallies all this week (May 21-25) outside the Justice Dept in Washington, D.C. at 11:30am EST.
- SheilaNoya, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14Gonzales isn't concerned with enforcing our laws or upholding the U.S. Constitution. Our Justice Department needs someone better than this incompetent crony. His only concern is to protect the corrupt Bush administration at all costs. Bush always says "We are a nation of laws", but he obviously doesn't believe any of those laws apply to him or anyone in his own administration. A huge revolt is brewing in America and Bush is only feeding the flames of discontent by putting himself and his personal cronies above the law.
- tblasko, on 10/11/2007, -6/+5The fact that Bush "stands by his man" is indicative of everything that's wrong with him, his administration, and his policies. RECOGNIZE MISTAKES YOU *****.
Gonzales said "I don't recall" like 60 thousand times in his hearing and bush comes out and says that it bolstered his support. Unbelievable. I love how people that support bush say "He sticks by his word and stands up for what he believes in." Well what if what he believes in is wrong, and he doesn't have the ability to admit it!! Then we've got a major ***** problem on our hands. It's like the twilight zone every time bush comes up to the podium. IRAQ IS *****, admit that you made a mistake, accept full responsibility and start fixing it.
Gonzales ***** up, recognize it, have him resign. It's like leaving in the pitcher after he gives up 3 runs in the 7th and not bringing in relief. It's why Grady Little got fired by the Red Sox when he left Pedro in. Unbelievable - tblasko, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2*bury above comment*

Stop avoiding cognitive dissonance by blaming everyone else and trying to justify the war, just like you try to justify Gonzales actions.

- camknows, on 10/11/2007, -7/+4I signed. Is he fired yet? NO!? WHY NOT!?

i have no faith in anybody that the bush administration appoints- FearlessFreep, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3I have no faith in online petitions
- one321, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2I wonder about online petitions as well. I signed this one and got a 404: Page Not Found message after submitting.
- lastliberal, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0He has to go NOW!
- ThisIsBob, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2He was just doing what he was told to do. So will the next guy. Gonzo is NOT the problem.
Speaking of which, Gonzo's parents were illegals - why isn't Lou Dobbs all over this? - skyscape, on 10/11/2007, -5/+0I got easier solution. Ban all liberals from Digg, and such stories will no more again make it to the front page again.
- bamaref, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3What a waste of time.
- JDoorjam, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2Alberto Gonzales really sucks for a variety of reasons, but this petition will be as effective as the petition to keep Paris Hilton out of jail.
- ChristianBk, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0Because online petitions *always* work =/
- duxwig, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3I have petitioned.
I work for the DOC and I even used my work email.
If I get canned, so be it, atleast it will hopefully be for a good cause. - unrequited, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2"We can make a difference."
no... you can't. not without a public real world march or demonstration and the support of your elected state and federal representatives. - skyscape, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2diggers are idiots on steroids
- fdldd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0The Difference, OATLORD, is that the president now has the authority, under the so-called patriot act, to replace those attorneys WITHOUT Senate confirmation. No small difference, I'd say.
- janeuner, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1$10 says you are signing up for a terrorist watchlist.
