- SiNN4R, on 01/20/2008, -45/+335Bush should be hanged for treason.
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -12/+289Good thing the rest of the world is not bound by US laws.
- tdrizzle, on 01/20/2008, -10/+274Yes it passed, and CONGRESS pardoned president Bush. He was just smart enough to get them to do it.
- AbbyRoad, on 01/20/2008, -10/+236Did this pass? This video is from before the 07 elections.
- medalian1, on 01/20/2008, -22/+176Everyone that voted for this tool should sure feel proud right about now. Thanks America!
- AndrewDB, on 01/20/2008, -14/+139Everyone who's just sitting here and writing stuff like "This crap makes me sick" and blah blah blah.
GET UP, TAKE A STAND. WRITE YOUR CONGRESSMEN/WOMEN.
Digg can take a huge part in righting this wrong, but nothing will happen if you sit on your ass. - pedo, on 01/20/2008, -11/+102this is really old, like from fall 2006. before the democrats had control of the house
http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0923-22.htm - bremstrong, on 01/20/2008, -10/+87The only reason the current administration gets away with the things they do is because most people don't pay attention.
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -15/+89wow! that is incredible
- Timmetie, on 01/20/2008, -4/+72It passed. No one cared. But now it's on dig things will change! Right?
- mjmelies, on 01/20/2008, -19/+81You know, as much as I strongly dislike the man, he is quite adept in CYA
- tdrizzle, on 01/20/2008, -6/+61I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a world court hearing.
- cerealjynx, on 01/20/2008, -14/+62Let's hang Bush, 'tis the season.
- Dingoboy, on 01/20/2008, -9/+55This ***** makes me sick.
- eighties, on 01/20/2008, -10/+56As a non-US citizen, I wonder: How could this be legal? Is this some sort of administrative/political loophole?
Does this mean that if the President were to commit a crime, and before he was caught pardoned himself, he would not be held responsible for his actions? - swrostmore, on 01/20/2008, -8/+53Yes, the 109th congress - when the GOP controlled both houses. Its not that Bush tricked them into anything, its that the GOP leadership rubber-stamped everything and anything he wanted them to.
- nixon956, on 01/20/2008, -8/+48woah, woah, woah, why the hell does he get away with this *****?
- rootnik, on 01/20/2008, -7/+44I thought this already happened about a year ago?
- fartbuttes, on 01/20/2008, -5/+38Law has no meaning in the United States anymore.
- drunkentoad, on 01/20/2008, -7/+38the kwick-e-mart is really. . . . d-oh
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -7/+34Can you even do that? Like...can he just pardon himself from any crime he wants and then go rape 50 women?
- Eskapismus, on 01/20/2008, -2/+29wasen't there a story that rummy can't travel to france anymore because he would get arrested there?
- poppacherry, on 01/20/2008, -11/+35oh! well i guess if congress says its cool to own black people as slaves, then we should have it!
- dumpyhumpy, on 01/20/2008, -5/+27Of course it did. Who has ever actually taken a stance against Bush & Co.?
- bradcrc, on 01/20/2008, -13/+34Yet the Bush apologists, in their neverending quest to destroy America, will try to find a way to justify this offense, as they do with the rest of them, while most of the weary public is too apathetic to care.
- gnoshme, on 01/20/2008, -8/+29This has got to be old.. it talks about "if the democrats take the house in November". Must be summer of 2006 before end of session. If you were like me, before Ron Paul came along you were so sick of politics you didn't bother keeping an eye on it.
- swrostmore, on 01/20/2008, -2/+22Yes, unlike the current congress. The Democrats only rubber-stamp what Bush wants 90% of the time.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 01/21/2008, -1/+21When it's lying about a blow job, yes, it's pretty ***** trivial. He never should have been put under oath for it in the first place. No one really thought he deserved to be impeached. It was just partisan *****.
- raz98, on 01/20/2008, -7/+26this is unbelievable...
- chronically420, on 01/20/2008, -9/+27i hate bush. yes i know hate is a strong word. i use it sparingly.
- HYPEractive, on 01/20/2008, -1/+18Kucinich...
- CrazedLeper, on 01/20/2008, -4/+21He should be shot out of a cannon--into another cannon.
- andrewcubbie, on 01/20/2008, -3/+19One year, today!
- KarlH, on 01/20/2008, -5/+21I bet Saddam Hussein was kicking himself for not having thought of this in time.
- Thedarklord187, on 01/21/2008, -1/+17http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Commissions_ ...
Its passed back in 2006 for those of your who were wondering - windfanatic, on 01/20/2008, -2/+17See my point?..
- kevdude421, on 01/20/2008, -6/+21***** Bush.
- inactive, on 01/20/2008, -1/+16You fail English, no sense makes your comment.
- DismantleRepair, on 01/20/2008, -7/+21The poster needs to pardon himself for crimes against correct apostrophe usage.
- Timmetie, on 01/20/2008, -6/+20This news is ancient. Are you 6 years old? Did you not follow politics until Ron Paul came along? Seriously get a grip people.
- lacronicus, on 01/20/2008, -5/+19The president can pardon anyone he feels like pardoning, apparently including himself. It's supposed to be a check on the judicial system, in case they do something they president doesn't like, but it's BS to me. How they thought that pardons could ever be used legitimately, I'll never know.
- impedance101, on 01/20/2008, -1/+15Hehe.. if you use RSS for digg you probably only saw this much -- President_BUSH_PARDON_s_HIMSELF_against_POT
- Cheesecrunch, on 01/20/2008, -6/+19In theory yes - but the public out-cry would prevent that. While something like this, the general public isn't as knowledgeable on the subject, and most probably won't even realise this is happening.
- TheTaoOfBill, on 01/20/2008, -4/+17So what is your solution? Arm the UN? Allow them to start wars? Would you like the UN to bomb US soil?
It's called personal responsibility. It's a common misconception that there are 3 branches of government. There is not. There are 4 branches. The executive, the legislative, the judicial and THE PEOPLE.
We are a part of the checks and balance system as well and we ***** up royally as a nation by re-electing this man and we failed once again by not standing up and shouting to congress at the top of our lungs "WE WANT IMPEACHMENT" "WE WANT PEACE" "WE WANT WAR CRIME TRIALS"
No. We as a people don't feel it's our job to stand up against the government anymore. We as a people feel it should be someone elses job. Why isn't the congress doing their job? Why isn't the courts doing their job? Why doesn't the UN save us?
I have a newsflash for you. No one is going to do ***** for a bunch of people unwilling to lift themselves up. No amount of government programs or international laws and armies are ever going pick us up if we don't become proud of our country's principles and realize it is our duty to march on Washington and it is our duty to picket the government and it is our duty to call for impeachment of presidents who commit war crimes.
Because if we do not stand up everything our fore fathers and our veterans fought for would be for nothing. All the freedom we've been given would be in vein. When are we going to stand up as one country united for freedom once again? - toconnor, on 01/20/2008, -3/+16"its that the GOP leadership rubber-stamped everything and anything he wanted them to" - unlike the Democrat led current Congress???
- Thing2, on 01/20/2008, -6/+19The problem is - writing them and calling them does nothing. I not only e-mailed and called - but I did it consecutively multiple times and it *STILL* didn't stop them from voting for this. See we really have no power in that respect....we can't *make* them listen to their constituents......
- soundman07, on 01/21/2008, -2/+15I think that Dick Cheney just posted on digg.
- chimeofdeath, on 01/20/2008, -5/+18Impeachement is not simply a legal suit, it opens the door for an actual conviction, Nixon resigned before he was impeached so that Ford could pardon him, once an impeachment is set, nothing can help the suspect party in getting out of it. The Republican party opened the door by impeaching Clinton for essentially a trivial matter, which is technically possible as long as it is illegal, but if anything else more serious occurs, now people freak out looking for impeachment.
- Supurcell, on 01/20/2008, -3/+15Don't you mean January 20th, 2009?
