- tucsonsun13, on 10/13/2008, -6/+138Palin/McCain 08. Pandering to the dumbest, most racist, ignorant *****-heads in America - and failing at it miserably.
- Anomaly100, on 10/13/2008, -4/+100"while 35 percent said McCain is addressing the issues. A staggering number."
That''s the scary part. I don't get how they don't get it. Palin scares the hell out of me, and as a woman, I find her an empty headed embarrassment. I'd love to see a female in the White House, but I'd like her to have a brain and a conscience. I'm happy that the majority of the voters aren't buying into the hate campaign they are heading. It's dividing our country and division certainly isn't what's needed at this time. - macdoodle, on 10/13/2008, -5/+90http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ...

THE GOP'S WHITE ELEPHANT SALE COMING SOON. - inactive, on 10/13/2008, -2/+60Just barely, but it is encouraging!
- MooseJawMan, on 10/13/2008, -4/+60Only thing the Republicans have left is outright lies.
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -7/+45polls are meaningless with rigged voting booths.
- travis712, on 10/14/2008, -3/+28But when you see the people at McCain/Palin rallies, it's hard to still not lose hope. & the minority in this case is still huge..
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -2/+26Yeah, youtube's more their speed. Less need for that elitist "reading" over there.

Why don't they go back to attacking Obama for eating arugula or drinking Honest Tea. Maybe they can make another case for him being elite because he eats chocolate protein bars. Or maybe they can compare Obama to Paris Hilton/Britney Spears again.
All of those were winning "issues" for republicans.
In 2004, Karl Rove talked about a "permanent republican majority."
In 2006, Democrats took control of the Senate and the House. No Democrat incumbent lost.
In 2008, Democrats stand on the verge of recapturing the White House, getting up to 59 members in the Senate, and getting up to 247 members of the House. No Democrat incumbent is currently losing.
The republican brand is on the verge of total collapse. The KKK loves you, but that's about it. - emeghara, on 10/13/2008, -6/+29It might be a little too late for both McCain and Palin anyway, but I couldn't stop not sharing this:

Will you marry me? All of the women where I live are scared of Barack Obama and are voting for McCain simply because his VP candidate is female.
Sad state of affairs. - elliotys, on 10/14/2008, -3/+23Apparently the majority at their rallies is still a minority in the rest of the country. . .Thank god.
- roxgod666, on 10/14/2008, -2/+20Digg? I think you're mistaken with youtube. Digg for the most part has a good 2% republican troll level opposed to youtube's 65%
- TurdZilla, on 10/14/2008, -1/+19Whats really bad is you see them on CNN says stuff like Palin looks like a person i could sit down and have snacks with. ***** that!!! I want the our leaders to be WAY smarter than i am. Got be that one person that was hitting the books when i was out playing football. If you can't answer simple questions like name a publication you get your information from as a journalism major in college, you are not qualified to pick up trash.....
- IllBeBack, on 10/14/2008, -1/+17No, it's not. We are voting for the SMART guy. Not because he's black. We want someone that is smarter than us to run our country for a change.

Anonymous registration doesn't mean a damn thing. - dinot, on 10/14/2008, -0/+14dude, seriously... why do you even bother?
- stock, on 10/14/2008, -1/+14I'm simply pointing out that John McCain's own website is set up by an anonymous registration as well. Just because the person wants their information to be private does not mean they aren't to be trusted.
- RodBorn, on 10/14/2008, -1/+14It's like giving the TV remote to your little brother and watching him flip through channels hoping he picks the Discovery Channel over Rock of Love on VH1
- inactive, on 10/13/2008, -1/+13Wow, that's quite the stretch, buddy... Shouldn't you be playing in the street somewhere?
- DangerCollie, on 10/14/2008, -2/+14No, no. They still have cheating, stealing, fear, intimidation and thuggery to fall back on.
I wonder if the Republican hate squads will wear brown shirts or red ones? - inactive, on 10/14/2008, -1/+12My wife HATES Palin. She actually was watching, uh...The View???, and there was an interview with Michelle Obama. My wife said, "God damn it, why did McCain have to pick a bimbo moron? Michelle is articulate and intelligent, why couldn't he pick somebody like that?"
My wife is going to vote Obama because of Michelle and Barak.
Oh and eat a bag of d*cks you racist *****. - inactive, on 10/14/2008, -1/+12You mean disgust speech? How about revulsion speech, or shame-for-others speech? There's plenty of that going around.
- magus_melchior, on 10/14/2008, -1/+10Uh, sorry, Wosat. You don't get to claim reverse hate speech like the fake conservatives claim all the time.
Thanks for playing, though. - ErickStevenson, on 10/14/2008, -1/+10No because we already see it in his rallies, you watched some of these recently?
- stickyman, on 10/14/2008, -0/+940% + sill support them though. It's pretty depressing
- TrueXtremeIcon, on 10/14/2008, -0/+9The only thing missing from some of the McCain/Palin rallies are the white hoods
- ninjadave, on 10/14/2008, -0/+8You kind of realize how great Hillary Clinton really is now.
- mrogi, on 10/14/2008, -0/+8Nobody will know if McCain's negative attacks ads worked until Election Day. Millions of folks who hate pollsters will never tell them the truth in advance. Nobody can accurately determine who the majority of white undecided voters support until they actually cast their votes. It is an unresolved question whether massive numbers of skeptical white voters are willing to set aside their apprehensions and give a black man the keys to the White House.
- shiftless, on 10/14/2008, -1/+8McCain absolutely disgusts me. I feel SICK seeing such a vile campaign even being run and watching the hateful ignorant ***** that follow him.
- inactive, on 10/14/2008, -0/+7Today's gallup poll have Obama leading by 10%. Obama 51% - McCain 41%.
- acroyear2, on 10/14/2008, -1/+8vomit
- neonoodle, on 10/14/2008, -1/+8Ooooh, F words! Like no Republican has said "***** Obama" before. And of course they'd never call Obama a Baby-Murdering Muslim(1). And I certainly haven't seen Obama as a racial stereotype on a Waffle Box(2). And yeah, the republicans are too moral to vandalize a car with McCain stickers, or, say, burn an Obama sign on a black family's lawn (3). It's those damn liberals with their hateful t-shirts! (4)

4. http://thinkprogress.org/2008/06/20/website-pulls- ... - SpeedSteamBoat, on 10/14/2008, -2/+9@RRJackson: I agree that this has been a divisive election. However, I disagree with on a couple of things. Personally, I don't care who anyone supports so long as they have good reasons based on issues not rumors and hear-say.
However, this division is the very basis of your candidates campaign. That's a pretty important distinction. The McCain Campaign has concluded that it cannot win on the issues so it has proceeded to ooze fear, uncertainty, and doubt at every turn. However, even more damning is the fact that these tactics aren't new. This campaign season has, in fact, simply been a continuation of the strategies of the 2000/2004 Bush campaigns. 2004 was especially nasty, and yet somehow now a losing Republican ticket has proven it can sink even lower than Swift Boat campaigning.
John McCain has been nasty, even disrespectful, toward Obama. Now the fear mongering is getting out of control. McCain/Palin supporters are screaming the Obama is a "terrorist" and "kill him." They did not simply show up to the rallies feeling that way of their own accord. Their hateful tendencies and ignorance have been allowed, even encouraged, by the McCain camp all to willing to engage in outright rabble rousing.
Certainly no all McCain supports are racist uneducated bumpkin, but that image is not one that suddenly appeared entirely without warrant. It is the racist uneducated bumpkin that McCain has instigated, with or without realizing it. They willfully stirred and prodded the fears of this demographic, and now their chickens have come home to roost. McCain now seems to be second guessing the wisdom of what he's done, but unfortunately the fire has been set. You wish me to believe that equal blame is to be placed on both side, but I just can't agree with that. I'm not even sure John McCain would believe that.
Now, that being said, you talk of civil war. I do not agree with that sentiment, and in fact I'm rather repulsed at even the suggestion. We are a long way off from civil war. Surely the divisions of this election run rather deep, but in a nation already facing three wars, and on the verge of total economic collapse I find it extremely hard to believe people are about to take up arms against each other. - acroyear2, on 10/14/2008, -0/+6Body: Fake

- TurdZilla, on 10/14/2008, -1/+7Actually alot of the ***** are taking her up on that offer
- neonoodle, on 10/14/2008, -1/+7That's gotta be a helluva comeback. He needs to resurrect Ronald Reagan if he wants to win this election.
- RAT-Man, on 10/14/2008, -3/+9Really?
Matt Drudge has been caring on as if McCain is mounting a comeback...
/sarcastic post - TrueXtremeIcon, on 10/14/2008, -0/+6I always thought the "what do you read" question was pretty damning, but this is the first time I've thought about it in the terms of her being a journalism major.
Thank you for giving me a sad face :( - AzielBaal, on 10/14/2008, -4/+10Blah blah blah if you think that McCain has a chance you are sadly mistaken from the get go. I'm burying this because it's so painfully obvious it deserves to be on CNN not Digg. What you should really be doing is pointing out the fact that Republicans have had more then enough ample opportunity to get Roe Vs. Wade overturned, haven't, and never will because it is the only tool they have to keep suckering the right wing back into voting for them. Tell this to every republican you know and watch as the light of truth dawns on their faces. VOTE THIRD PARTY NOW!
- neonoodle, on 10/14/2008, -0/+6How about the statistic IN THE ARTICLE that "59 percent of Americans accused McCain of negative campaigning, while 35 percent said McCain is addressing the issues."
The actual study in the linked article states:
"McCain’s receiving blowback for what’s perceived as negative campaigning; registered voters by 59-35 percent say he’s been mainly attacking Obama rather than addressing the issues. Obama,
by contrast, is seen by an even wider margin as issue-focused."
It's fairly obvious to everybody but you and the hard-line rightwingers that McCain is running a more negative campaign. - brstilson, on 10/14/2008, -1/+7No. This isn't Flavor Flav running for president. Obama is well-educated, a proven leader, and ready to be president. That's why people are voting for him.
- sprNmgcHlmt, on 10/14/2008, -1/+6george bush. he not only destroyed a country but he also destroyed a political party.
republicans: next time pick someone who isn't a functional incompetent. - inactive, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5@boot20 -- dugg for "eat a bag of dicks"
- Dumbledorito, on 10/14/2008, -0/+5You mean the "shenanigans" of so-called "fraudulent" applications for voter registration? News flash: ACORN has to pass along EVERY form because it's THE LAW. That means even if someone fills out a form with the name "Amanda Hugginkiss," ACORN is legally bound to pass it on. They can draw attention to them for the feds, but there's nothing they can do about it.
And McCain thought highly enough of it to attend at least one of their gatherings. - dhyancraig, on 10/14/2008, -1/+6Why do certain campaigns think hate rhetoric will help? The only thing hate rhetoric does is please people already loyal to your campaign; everyone else looks down upon your campaign for spreading hate.
