Sen. Obama is still a long way from November. But I find the present trends heartening. McCain really is in a fix. He has to appeal to George Bush' base in order to keep it, but loses more votes nationally as he does so. Grandpa McCain has been swerving erratically, saying whatever he needs to say to get elected, but contradicting himself incoherently in the process.
On the other hand, Sen. Obama is pretty much speaking from principled, pragmatic positions. One of the nice things about being consistently truthful and honest is that you don't have to keep a photographic memory on hand at all times to remember what you said to whom. Another benefit which comes from being honest in accordance with time-honored principles and values is that it permits one to speak with conviction. That's one of the main reasons why Obama's rhetoric resonates with so many of us -- he is speaking the language of the heart. - Stonecipher26, on 07/03/2008, -0/+4tc is right, that really is interesting.
Maybe part of the reason Lieberman's numbers are so bad in Connecticut is because he's a back-stabber:

I hope I'm wrong but there is still a lot of people who think Obama is a muslim bent on destroying America no matter how little evidence and how stupid it sounds.
