Police: Ignorant of Bike Laws? Make Them Up!!

westsidebikeside.blogspot.com — Police in LA County are taken to task for their poor knowledge and erroneous enforcement of bicycle traffic laws. Particular attention is paid to the Santa Monica Police Department and it's relationship with Santa Monica Critical Mass. One rider was ticketed for not having lights, despite having them, in the presence of 50 eyewitnesses.

  • Dipster, on 01/29/2008, -0/+1As a founder of the Inland Empire CritMass, I've seen very rare occasions where the police in Rancho Cucamonga give any of us a hard time undeservedly. We're probably a bit more fortunate since I work on a rail-to-trail advocacy group with the Mayor Pro-tem, who is also an avid cyclist.
