- LooseFur, on 10/05/2008, -11/+203If this scenario doesn't chill your blood, nothing will.
Palin has a history of using older men to further her political career, only to dump them like a used condom when she's done sucking out the marrow in their bones.
Guess what? That means John "Maverick" McCain is EVEN STUPIDER that I originally suspected.
Folks, we CANNOT afford a Palin in the White House. - inactive, on 12/08/2008, -3/+144If McCain wins the election, he should consider hiring a food taster.
- jdelgado8, on 10/05/2008, -2/+124The last minute dirty campaign to discredit Obama has begun, with Sarah Palin front and center. The local fox channel in Chicago began their evening newscast with "Talking Points Sarah" associating Obama to William Ahers, a 60's radical. Mr.Ahers has disavowed his former past and now is professor at University of Illinois Chicago. Obama was six years back then, but the republicans(Rupert Murdoch) are betting that this desperate propaganda will some how stick. Please pass the word around to all everyone we know. We must debunk the *****. They will throw everything but the kitchen sink at him.
- cheesegypsy, on 10/05/2008, -6/+93I predict McCain's final hail mary is to announce a week before the election that he has terminal cancer and will die in 6 months, asking voters to elect him as his dying wish.
- redtaboo, on 10/05/2008, -4/+71FTA--You have to wonder how long it will be before they plead with him to think of his health, get out of the way and pull the ultimate stunt of flipping the ticket. Palin, we can be certain, wouldn’t even blink.
This is the most chilling thing I've Read this whole campaign! I believe my heart almost came out of my chest, I stuttered many times while reading it aloud.
We cannot let this happen, this woman has no clue how to run this country. Sarah Palin does not have my best interest at heart and, as a woman, has never spoken for me.
No matter what the Polls say in the next few weeks we must all get out and vote!!!!!!
Sarah Palin deserves neither our respect or our vote! - onyxcoltrane, on 10/05/2008, -4/+69It's almost as if Palin believes God has selected her to be President.....oh ***** I forgot. :(
- duckley, on 10/05/2008, -5/+64Republicans voters have Religion. That religion is ANYTHING the party throws at them.
They swoon when transparent Palin appears on stage.
Their faith in her is just like their faith in their god, their "leaders" and their party: Based on nothing of substance.
Neo-Cons - They LOVE "Amerika", but hate Americans. - chrissku, on 10/05/2008, -6/+63Palin is a retard.
Let me phrase that in a more respectful way....
Governor Palin is a retard. - NoDrama, on 10/05/2008, -2/+50Folks, it's not about Palin, she's already proven she's the political equivalent of a trophy wife (is there such a thing as a trophy VP?)
It's about McCain's judgment. If he picked Palin, as many believe, he's picked an unknown who undermines his premise that Obama's too inexperienced, since obviously a VP candidate has to be held to the same standards as a Presidential candidate is (look at how many ascend during their time in office...)
I doubt McCain made the choice. I think his advisors felt that GOP handlers could get Palin up to the performance level of George Bush, and produce another folksy talking points echo machine in short order. And that means, again, it's about McCain's judgment - he couldn't pick his own running mate?
His first significant political appointment was Sarah Palin, a woman he had met once, with ties to a secessionist group. She destroyed the budget of a town while Mayor, and evidently doesn't even read any newspapers, or recall that she was (advised to be) against the Supreme Court decision reducing damage awards from the Exxon Valdez disaster, arguably the single most important decision for her state that the court has ever handled.
McCain admits he doesn't get the economy. He is acting like a weather vane, turning with the hot air coming out of GOP advisors mouths while trying to say he's not part of the establishment.
John McCain missed his chance. He let Bush become a figurehead, and his only chance of winning is if the voters fail to learn from history. - joand315, on 10/05/2008, -1/+44His name is spelled Ayers and Obama was eight years old, not six. Just for the sake of accuracy.
- wilhoitm, on 10/05/2008, -1/+40I hate to say it but Palin uses "sex" to get ahead. You see it in the debate with the winks and the adorable talk and catering to male egos. It is blatantly obvious. I think women can see this too.
- MediaWeasel, on 10/05/2008, -3/+40The Republicans are in a bit of a sticky spot. They can't pull the whole ticket without looking like losers and completely destroying their own campaign. They can't ditch McCain, for the same reason. They could pull Palin, although that too would impact on their ratings, and she'd probably let out a screech you could hear from China. Given the reactions to Palin within the Republican party that seems to be the only option they have.
Palin as President? *shudder* Worst nightmare ever.
So all McCain has now is to try and eflect attention from his own disastrous campaign, and hope the voters will vote Obama out - rather than voting McCain in. Subtle difference. - NuclearTomorrow, on 10/05/2008, -1/+30I'm getting sick of the "Joe Sixpack" image she is trying to portray. If your husband makes $100,000 a year and you have a million in solid investments, you're hardly middle class. I'm an educator, make $55,000 per year and have a few thousand dollars in investments, and I wouldn't classify myself as poor. However, according to Ms. Joe Sixpack I'm pretty far off from being "middle class." Give me a break!
- brightlight4, on 10/05/2008, -1/+28Nor a McCain either if he is so stupid as to be taken in by a "Sexy" bit of skirt!!
- Echota, on 01/05/2009, -3/+22Being a heartbeat away from being President,Palin has show the American voters that she is grossly unprepared to step into the Presidential roll if it should become necessary.
That being said,Do the American voters want another Bush in the White House?
That is exactly what America will get if McCain is elected POTUS! More incompetence and more bad decisions!
If McCain were to die while in office and Palin stepped in........well we're done for dontcha know! - normalkid0615, on 10/05/2008, -1/+19Just want to add, I have never seen so many young people AND children involved in a presidential election. At the Bruce Springsteen concert in Philly yesterday, I saw just as many people under 18 as over 18.
Remember when you were a kid and you always thought you were right? And you were? Listen to the little ones for once :) - BishkekBuddy, on 10/05/2008, -2/+20No it couldn't..... But I do remember his camp making a prediction that he would pull ahead in the polls 4 days before the election or something like that... I wonder what evil plans they have - another terrorist attack?
- deadbaby, on 10/05/2008, -1/+19Palin isn't as dumb as she sounds. She knows McCain's chances of winning this election are fading. She's now working for her own political career. If you watch her carefully over the next couple weeks she's going to start planting some seeds for 2012 or 2016.
- MediaWeasel, on 10/05/2008, -1/+18I wouldn't put anything past this bunch of crooks currently in the White House. I know there has been a lot of rumbling about an attack on Iran - news is filtering through from Europe - the Netherlands particularly - that this is what Bush is planning.
God protect America if he does that. - joand315, on 10/05/2008, -1/+18OMG! It could work, too.
- barbiesnow, on 10/05/2008, -2/+19She has emasculated McCain.....questioned why he pulled out of Michigan...this "love affair" is not going to last and she will blame him and vice versa and Cindy gets the booby prize.Poor little match girl..
- Teku, on 10/05/2008, -1/+18Good article, it mentioned many of the things from the VP debate that stood out to me with respect to her disturbing attitude.
- mebble, on 10/05/2008, -4/+20Palin IS the Manchurian Candidate.
- IpecacNeat, on 10/05/2008, -1/+17More smears. Nobody cares about your lies anymore. Move along troll.
- booyahbitch, on 10/05/2008, -2/+18Dugg for Palin sucking bone marrow!!!
- normalkid0615, on 10/05/2008, -2/+17Overall public opinion is on our side. The news media has shown some balls for the last few weeks. Be prepared for a complete flip-flop over the next 30 days. If you believe in yourself and the good of the people, believe that Obama is still the best candidate for president and the light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
Even if you don't want to vote for yourself, vote for your children! OBAMA 08 - liuite, on 10/05/2008, -0/+14you mean she used beauty pageant parlor tricks? say it ain't so!
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -5/+19Tell Sarah Palin to stop quoting racist anti-Semite from John Birch society.
- Shadoblak, on 10/05/2008, -2/+15...if she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will.....
- tunit000, on 10/05/2008, -1/+14All that means N-O-T-H-I-N-G by just you saying it. You might do better by having links to something that proves each point.
- Rusty626, on 10/05/2008, -4/+14We are not a nation of whiners, as Phil Gramm would have it, but the G.O.P. is now the party of whiners. That rebranding became official when Republican House leaders moaned that a routine partisan speech by Nancy Pelosi had turned their members against the bailout bill. As the stock market fell nearly 778 points, Barney Frank taunted his G.O.P. peers with pitch-perfect mockery: “Somebody hurt my feelings, so I will punish the country!”
Talk about the world coming full circle. This is the same Democrat who had been slurred as “Barney Fag” in the mid-1990s by Dick Armey, a House leader of the government-bashing Gingrich revolution that helped lower us into this debacle. Now Frank was ridiculing the House G.O.P. as a bunch of sulking teenage girls. His wisecrack stung — and stuck. - gdonald, on 10/05/2008, -2/+12Sarah Palin is a moron, plain and simple.
- stonecircle, on 06/11/2009, -1/+10In Michigan, we're seeing Palin/McCain yard signs -- not homemade signs -- but of the same quality as the signs handed out by the campaigns. Johnny, boy, better watch your back!
- Jareth86, on 10/06/2008, -0/+9--Obama best friends are known terrorist
If by "Best Friends", you mean that the guy lived nearby when he was EIGHT YEARS OLD, than I'm "best friends" with a whole lot of psychos... - Lazerz, on 10/05/2008, -0/+9I'm tired of the repub Anti-America argument. What really, do YOU think, America is? What does it mean to be American?
- robopuppy, on 10/05/2008, -3/+11Palin and her kids offend me all of the time. The fact that she accepted the VP nomination is offensive and shows her (and McCain's) lack of intelligence and concern for the future of America. I find it offensive that she has a gay friend somewhere who happens to be one of her best according to her, yet she can't possibly understand homosexuals' urge to want to marry if they love each other. In fact, ***** Palin for using her 1 gay "friend" as another tool in her belt. I find it offensive when Palin talks about how John McCain and herself are mavericks and how Obama and Biden are Washington insiders, when McCain IS a Washington insider. I find it offensive when Palin talks about women's rights and shattering the glass ceiling, but when it comes down to it, doesn't really want women to have the right to do anything they've fought for and won over the past few hundred years. I find it offensive that Palin would choose life for her daughter's baby; what, her daughter can't make her own decision, it's suddenly your decision Sarah? I find it offensive that Palin gets all worked up and offended over nothing that anyone does, yet she goes out on stage and winks at the camera and giggles like a school girl, uses her supposedly good looks (I find her hideously ugly, but maybe I can just see through her facade) as man-vote bait, and believes that any woman who doesn't support her is going to wind up in a special place in hell.
***** Palin and ***** her children if she's offended, because she's one of the most offensive people I've ever seen take the public spotlight. Stop insulting my intelligence; that's highly offensive. Stop effectively calling ME a retard, Sarah. - Terisita, on 10/05/2008, -0/+8Palin's income last year was well over $ 300,000.00 plus assets that make her a millionaire.
I doubt most hockey moms can compare themselves to this rich lifestyle Palin likes so much. She also has not declared that $ 17,000.00 she billed taxpayers for her hotel expenses when she was really sleeping in her own home.
So much for truth, and justice, more of the lies of the McSame policies. - Alprazolam, on 10/05/2008, -7/+14A pit bull with lipstick is still a pit bull. They attack and maim their neighbors for no reason. They attack children who have adored them for years. They fight each other to the death. Do we really want a pit bull for VP?
- Nillerus, on 10/05/2008, -0/+7People see through a lot of things. How's that working out for you so far troll?
- etx313, on 10/05/2008, -1/+8They talk about McCain and Michigan but let me tell you, McCain already lost Michigan a long time ago.
- pitdog, on 10/05/2008, -5/+12It is derogatory for real American Pit Bull Terrier to be compared to this woman. I am writing about real APBT, not some poor mutt bred by morons. And BTW normal sane Pit Bull never wants to attack a human, only other dogs.
- brandonpierce, on 10/05/2008, -2/+9don't put it past them to also throw the sink too when this fails
- txchica, on 10/05/2008, -0/+6Wow, you are so wrong about the pit bull and your metaphor is poor at best. The pit bull is actually very people friendly and not aggressive towards people. When you see an aggressive pit bull it's normally due to poor socialization, poor breeding or a combination of both. A responsible breeder will euthanize an aggressive dog and not breed it as it's a trait that is wanted. Irresponsible breeders only care about the dollar and not the breed. My pit bull lives in a home with 6 cats and 2 other dogs, so stop with the generalizations, especially when they're completely wrong and you're educated enough to have done some research on this subject before saying something so asinine.
- snowbeard, on 10/05/2008, -2/+8Frank Rich is consistently cogent and articulate. I never miss his articles.
- Pusod, on 10/06/2008, -1/+7Dumbass.
- inactive, on 10/05/2008, -1/+7Although I have my own opinions about Barney Frank for pushing through the unconstitutional bailout, I must say that being called "Barney Fag" by someone named Dick Armey is one of those things that makes you stop and say, "Really? REALLY?"
- SeeingtheLight, on 10/05/2008, -0/+6She already has.
Before McCain put her on lockdown, away from the media and large crowd appearances, she was saying the "Palin/McCain campaign."
And when she's bashing Joe Biden's age, 66 yrs, who is she really talking about? McCain is 72 yrs.
Lastly, if she reads nothing else, her narcissism guarantees she reads all the articles about herself. Who attracts the crowds? Who brings in the money?
She wants it. I just hope the majority doesn't give it to her. - WhatKindaBat, on 10/06/2008, -0/+5"EVEN STUPIDER that I originally suspected."
Never a good idea to have a typo in a sentence involving stupidity. - mizlane, on 10/05/2008, -0/+5Where ARE his medical records anyway?
- Rioracer916, on 10/05/2008, -0/+5I think she knows how to be an opportunist.
Someone as ambitious as her wouldn't hesitate to try to set herself up for a presidential bid if she were given the chance.
This chance seems as good as any.
But I do agree that there are many more qualified Republicans, let alone Republican women, than Palin. -
