            Frankly, I think a better plan of attack would be for hot topics of the moment to have some way to consolidate all of them as links, but under a single (sticky?) submission. Imagine something titled: Hot Topic - Eliot Spitzer Scandal. Click the submitted link and it takes you to a page of all the submitted stories within that category.

            Problem is, I don't know how to make it work, but think about how many BREAKING stories, scandals or other lingering topics something like this would be appropriate for. I like that TSG has just the pictures. I like that the NY Times had the pictures and some background. I haven't seen it, but I'd bet someone submitted "Kristen's" MySpace page, which is something else entirely. In this sort of situation, these aren't actually duplicates, but there's an overload of information that needs to somehow be managed. Deciding that some of the information presented is not valid probably isn't the right answer, though...

            The story with the most diggs would the one displayed in the upcoming queue and that could change dynamically if another URL around the same story surpassed it in votes.

            In this way the community would be voting on *the best* coverage of any given story. Sometimes, its nice for another source. Sometimes stuff gets submitted and just totally slips through the cracks too- what do you do then resubmit and "dupe" something no one ever saw or "play the rules"?
