- StripeyMagee, on 04/16/2009, -4/+35Is this the same bunch of people who made fake news stories for TV news a few years ago? Sure sounds like them.
- inactive, on 04/16/2009, -6/+35On one hand, President Obama is teetering on the edge of keeping Bush's worst torture memos secret, which upsets me greatly, and then he does something good like this.
- MiddleAmerica, on 04/16/2009, -1/+23Yes, "accused" is the wrong term.
"Proven" is the accurate term.
- MercyPolitics, on 04/16/2009, -7/+26Guess what, Bush & Rumsfeld's Pentagon propaganda crack team can always apply for a job as " military experts" on Fox News....
- inmymindzi, on 04/17/2009, -1/+20They're closing down Fox News?
- freedomjoe, on 04/17/2009, -5/+20How do you know the propaganda will go on? Do you have proof that the Obama administration is sending WH talking points to the news channels and paying "advisers" who will back up their story on TV, without being disclosed as WH advisers? Do you have proof that the Obama admin makes war movies in Hollywood and sells them as real footage on the "news" to the public?
I have proof of all of the above during the Bush administration.
Please don't make allegations like this against the President lightly, as it cheapens the horror of the truth.
The truth is that not every president does this. The truth is that the Bush administration propagandized this country like we hear Hitler did in Germany. I do not use that comparison lightly, and accusations of this kind should be reserved for when PROOF exists. Otherwise, it becomes "crying wolf", like the right screaming "socialist". It means nothing.
And it shouldn't mean nothing, unless that is the goal by making these unfounded accusations against the Obama administration. I mean, is the goal to make Bush' s crimes seem less heinous? To sell the idea that "everyone does it"?
Everyone does not do it. It is unacceptable and it is a FACT that Bush did this. - MiddleAmerica, on 04/16/2009, -5/+18President Obama has done a lot of good things...
- arvvvs, on 04/17/2009, -0/+9Would this have happened under Bush?
- madmanz123, on 04/17/2009, -0/+9He released the torture memos and did the right thing. More good news!
- fldigger, on 04/17/2009, -6/+15Well I am happy that taxpayers will not be paying for this anymore. Obama has so many challenges ahead and it seems so daunting!
- freedomjoe, on 04/17/2009, -2/+9yes, and I can verify this as a fact.
- Arramol, on 04/17/2009, -0/+6Much as I hate Fox News, we absolutely must NOT set the precedent that the First Amendment doesn't apply where we don't want it to.
- mgraham80, on 04/17/2009, -0/+5Wait, I don't get it. Are you saying that shutting down the office you admit is responsible for the problem...does not fix the problem? Removing causation does remove effect, right? I'm confused.
Edit: Oops, should have been reply to LoneRanger85. - ajgasper, on 04/17/2009, -6/+11I have to agree with the comments. Having a centralized story telling clearing house to cover activities eliminated, but leaving the activity generating apparatus in place is like taking an anal temperature when someone is having a heart attack. Then again, maybe there's a method to the madness. The government probably thinks everyone enjoys having things crammed up their anal perforations.

- moose26, on 04/17/2009, -0/+4Dear Santa:
For Christmas, I desire that you finally give me what I have been wishing for. A world of peace, of human growth and a world without Fox News! - LeepII, on 04/17/2009, -1/+5The office wasn't "accused" it was verified to be a propaganda machine by the GAO. Of course most Americans won't know about that because they watch tv for their news.
- youareretarded, on 04/17/2009, -0/+4LOL, the pentagon already had "military experts" on fox, in fact they were on multiple news networks.
- mgraham80, on 04/17/2009, -1/+5What, is the Pentagon some rogue branch of government now? It's not headed by Obama appointees? Wonders of wonders.
- rpgmakr, on 04/17/2009, -0/+4"Pentagon Closes Office Accused of Propaganda Under Bush."
Last time I checked Fox News still was the #1 cable news channel... - SpinningHead, on 04/18/2009, -0/+4Um...yeah. Dont close the ministry of truth. Just change it into the office of happy fun time message massaging.
- Kaegro, on 04/17/2009, -1/+5hopefully he's the man for the job and with all things considered, he is doing a good job of all this mess.
I'd like to shake Obama's hand and spit in Bush's face at THE SAME TIME, maybe with a glass of scotch on the rocks just to make myself feel classy. - ciaran036, on 04/17/2009, -1/+4I see your point.
- manosinistra, on 04/17/2009, -1/+4Its amazing how difficult it is to transmit the notion of sarcasm and irony when writing here.
mgraham80, if you could see me, you would realize i'm a half-breed myself and that i was just being very very sarcastic in my comment. Judging by all the thumbs down i got, you're not the only one to fall for first degree reactions.
Read between the lines and most of all mind your language, because you end up being more obnoxious than what you thought i was...
Did you actually imagine some contemptuous, fat and cynical blue-eyed person? Racism includes anti-white feelings, and though I used to have those its been a long time since i've given them up. - Culero, on 04/17/2009, -1/+4
2arvvvs I propose bumper stickers! : WTHHUB - noahhoward, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2If you will never believe that anyone in government can do something good, why would you even bother commenting. Crawl back under your rock and continue to be angry at the world.
- traveler1217, on 04/17/2009, -1/+31 bureau down. Hundreds more to go! How many can President Obama close down while he has the chance? As many as he can, I hope.
- zyklon, on 04/19/2009, -0/+2If by "you", you really mean "almost all of us", then yes. We wish. Very hard.
- mgraham80, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2My bad! No hard feelings I hope. :)
- blacklilyninja, on 04/17/2009, -1/+3they all work at fox now
- Kaegro, on 04/17/2009, -1/+3They dont lie enough to be part of the elite Fox News team, Fox has propaghanda down to and art form. An exact science if you will.
- ftc08, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2They can bust Fox News for false advertisement.
Fair and Balanced -> Unfair and Biased - HPSYK, on 04/17/2009, -0/+2I get the most distinct feeling that post may have been sarcastic.
- VdigginG, on 04/17/2009, -1/+2shouldn't the tea-bagging have started a few years ago???
they should've been tea-bagging bush since 'mission accomplished' - Alderon, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1@Hortnon,
Um where do you live? I live in America where the Constitution Party was on 38 state ballots; the Libertarian Party was on about as many; the Green Party were on enough to win by Electorial College votes; then you got to the write ins.
Maybe you should know what your talking about before spewing misinformation. *wink* - Kaegro, on 04/17/2009, -3/+4...so you must have voted for McCain.
- Hortnon, on 04/17/2009, -3/+4Legally, yes. No one went through the write-in process, so in 95% of places, there were only two candidates.
- inactive, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1"News Flash: The Pentagon has closed its Office of Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation, according to the Pentagon Office of Domestic Propaganda and Disinformation."
- arvvvs, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1Ministry of Information
- arvvvs, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1down to the last molecule
- mgraham80, on 04/17/2009, -3/+4Mixed breed? Reported, you racist prick.
- nirvanix, on 04/17/2009, -1/+2They'll soon open up another office that will do the same ***** under a different name. That's the way they roll.
- funkyloki, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Destroying the object that is creating the problem IS a solution. And your little car analogy failed miserably. He didn't junk the Pentagon because one component was bad AND obsolete, he just removed the bad component.
LoneRanger85, get back on your horse, and go back to where you ***** came from, because no one wants you here. - ProLick, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Too bad the tea baggers missed it. Apparently the other media propaganda arm missed reporting on it so they could decide.
- funkyloki, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Dude, you really need to learn to use the reply button. The person you are replying to is not a top-level post, so it is all ready beneath someone else's comment, making it very difficult to understand the relevance of your statement in relation to the topic. I was interested in what you said, but I had to backtrack every comment above yours to find the one you were referring to. Pain in the ass, friend, pain-in-the-ass.
Maybe you should learn more about how forums work before you start posting your replies as original thoughts. *wink* - ProLick, on 04/22/2009, -0/+1Clearly he/she would benefit from more money spent on education and less on propaganda.
- manosinistra, on 04/17/2009, -1/+2Yeah, and what about the socialist quip? Why didn't he pick up on that? Guilt?
- Kaegro, on 04/17/2009, -0/+1The US first amendment is one thing, but lie after lie after hatefull screaming lie is another. Freedom of the Press doesnt mean freedom to say what you want.
- Gabberwok, on 04/19/2009, -0/+1Because there are too many of their cronies still in government and they could basically shut down large parts of the executive branch if they wanted. Obama also doesn't want to be seen as a Democratic Kenneth Starr (even if the crimes are much more severe). I think they may have underestimated the effect of releasing the torture memos though, so they may be forced to prosecute eventually (or they're very smart and planned for that to happen so Obama could be seen as a reluctant prosecutor of his predecessor's crimes).
