- spankaccount, on 04/23/2009, -31/+240Ms. Pelosi, you are a lying sack of <BEEP>.
- brandozilla, on 04/24/2009, -16/+114If they want to go on a witch hunt they better bring down each of these democrats who were aware of this. Its just like with the eavesdropping, top democrats were briefed, and then feign outrage at a later date for political gain.
- VotePaul, on 04/24/2009, -16/+111I just heard Pelosi on the radio two hours ago stating that she heard absolutely nothing about enhanced interrogation techniques in any of the meetings she had. Either she is a lair or she is delusional or most likely both.
- Gandalff, on 04/24/2009, -18/+105Looks like the botox is seeping into her brain. Get her under oath so she can eventually walk the Libby plank out of town.
- natearchibaldy, on 04/24/2009, -15/+99Ms. Pelosi is one of the most hypocritical politicians in Washington. She needs to thrown out of Congress.
- primaldefense, on 04/24/2009, -8/+58Honestly, every time she opens her mouth, I swear she tells half truths or flat out lies. So much for a more ethical and transparent Congress and Administration. What a load of crap...
- Dimeoo, on 04/23/2009, -28/+75All persons involved in torture from the planning, administration, and those in official capacity to speak out should be brought to justice.
This is not a political party issue, this is an American issue and it falls in the face of complete lawlessness and sheer evil. The United States used to represent the idea of freedom, justice, and liberty. We are nation of laws where even our public servants must adhere to. I also request the Attorney General to fully investigate this matter and bring all people to justice and if President Obama shields those involved, then We The People should demand for his resignation and charge him with obstruction of justice. People, shed your political party skins for BOTH parties have put us in a very bad situation that we cannot allow to continue. - inactive, on 04/24/2009, -11/+56Lets rephrase that to
"typical Politician... willing to lie at every turn in the name of power"
Lets face it, with this 2 party system, you get to choose between either a Giant Douche, or a Turd Sandwich. - zelig, on 04/24/2009, -19/+64Of course, absolutely nothing about this on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams.
- brad3378, on 04/24/2009, -9/+51Crazy Bitch must have forgotten her medication.
- nullvector, on 04/24/2009, -12/+48We need one-term limits....
Representation shouldn't be a permanent job anyway. If you "represent" for your whole life, you never know what it's like to be the people you are representing. - ericdano, on 04/24/2009, -11/+44Pelosi needs to go. Period. She is obviously lying or she isn't doing her job. Facts prove it lady.
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -14/+45Dugg for intellectual honesty and lack of partisan blinders. I understand and respect your point of view.
I think waterboarding is an acceptable method of interrogation/torture. However, if this woman, and many other prominent Democrats, knew that this was happening as far back as 2002, they have absolutely no right to criticize the Bush Administration for it now. - moose26, on 04/24/2009, -5/+34<BEEP> = *****
- akhomestead, on 04/24/2009, -3/+30Typical politician. Both sides are a bunch of liars.
- davidg11, on 04/24/2009, -13/+40Pelosi = giant sack of........
I'm not sure what's worse. Bush believing it was the right thing because the justice dept said it was or Pelosi beliveing it was the right thing but not having the balls to defend her position.
I think Pelosi...at least with Bush you know what his position is on the techniques, agree with them or not. Pelosi agrees with the same techniques and then when public opinion turns, so does her lies.
Obama better watch out before the whole of the US govt is under a witch hunt trial. And thats A LOT of democrats included. - SEANWOOKIE, on 04/24/2009, -6/+29Like I reallly need another reason to hate Pelosi.
- AndrewDB, on 04/24/2009, -10/+33Pelosi.. lied?!
NO. WAY.
Call me shocked and amazed. - TCSavant, on 04/24/2009, -9/+32She should resign. If she truly believes that Washington needs to be cleansed from a "culture of corruption," then she should back up that conviction by stepping down.
- justjoehere, on 04/24/2009, -3/+24Brain?
- Annihilia, on 04/24/2009, -3/+24Let me translate this reply to the OP:
"I am a partisan moron that can't come to terms with the idea that ranking politicians on both sides are quite capable of being corrupt. Instead, I will attack you personally by making idiotic assumptions about your political beliefs." - 3nder99, on 04/24/2009, -3/+23Actually Pelosi was informed of everything, this has been confirmed by multiple sources and Pelosi herself. She in fact is merely trying to play down what she knew, but considering the fact that the other Congressmen there say they were told she is completely full of *****.
Just so you know kasjogren, the Democrats voted for pretty much every single measure you are solely blaming the Republicans for. This means you are excusing their behavior because it fits your political agenda. - inactive, on 04/24/2009, -18/+38she is a neo-dem who also is the worst just like the neo cons who also should resign.
- nomarxist, on 04/24/2009, -5/+24You are right! However, it will not be a real witch hunt until they include Pelosi!
- timla, on 04/24/2009, -2/+21oh please, if you are going to say that then lets generalize it and make it closer to the truth:
Politicians: me > country. Always. - SwampAss, on 04/24/2009, -9/+28she is one dumb *****
- inactive, on 04/24/2009, -9/+28Lying bitch.
- snafflepaffle, on 04/24/2009, -9/+27She's my representative and I can't stand her. What a freakin' disaster. I voted for Cindy Sheehan over this lying sack of crap. Cindy ***** Sheehan for god's sake. Even that nutbag would have been better than what we have now.
I think it's interesting that there's pretty much a bi-partisan opinion of Pelosi. Everyone hates her. - InetRoadkill, on 04/24/2009, -3/+21Pelosi was also in on the illegal wiretaps. She was covering her own ass when she took impeachment off the table.
- 3nder99, on 04/24/2009, -3/+20Funny how the other Congressmen who were there say she was informed. Along with numerous other officials.
- Debba99, on 04/24/2009, -8/+24I agree with nullvector. Career politicians are corrupt. Public service should be just that; for the people
these career politicians are for themselves. - 3nder99, on 04/24/2009, -3/+19@BullBearMS
I have been saying this for years, its funny how long it takes for people to even start to care when there is a D beside the name. If she were a Republican it would have been non-stop news all through the election. - BullBearMS, on 04/24/2009, -6/+22Gee, I wonder why impeaching Bush was 'off the table'? Oh wait, I bet I know now you lying ass bitch.
The people in the Bush administration who decided to torture and the members of the House and Senate intelligence committees who approved of torture *all* need to go down. - pilgrim3970, on 04/24/2009, -5/+20THEY ALL WERE. Any that say they didn't know are lying - plain and simple.
- boozedrinker, on 04/24/2009, -4/+18Even if you are a Liberal Democrat, you should be able to see that NBC is RIDICULOUSLY liberal biased. THAT'S why they won't say anything.
- dafragsta, on 04/24/2009, -10/+23Seriously, why has this lady not been called out much louder for her incompetence. She just loves being important. She seems rather distant from the issues she presides over in much the same way Bush really just pulled triggers on things and never really tried to understand them. She's a douchebag career politician first and foremost.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8hMJVXt09E
Alarmist bitch trying to push an agenda. - epm3232, on 04/24/2009, -15/+28this reminds me of the time when clinton denied ever smoking but then later said he "didn't inhale"
- nomarxist, on 04/24/2009, -18/+31Perhaps they could refresh her memory with a little waterboarding! But, first let's practice on Frank and Dodd!
- BOTW, on 04/24/2009, -3/+15Umm - they're in Congress. They can write a bill outlawing anything they want so long as they have some basis to believe the law would be Constitutional (and that won't necessarily stop them). Nor is Congress prohibited from raising objections to those to whom they are giving oversight. Sorry, FooFoo, your attack on the wingnuts is off base here.
- xGORDOx, on 04/24/2009, -13/+25If she wasn't elected by the people of SanFran she would even be in power.
Any other location in America would have voted her out already. - praderwilli, on 04/24/2009, -12/+24Yea, like the left dosnt pounce on every single opportunity to rake the GOP thru the coals. Pelosi is just another crooked, lying politician who got caught and you've got to be either a moron or family member to defend her,,God forbid if your related to her btw. Let the right tear her apart, maybe with some luck she will get booted, but knowing how bias the media is, this story will probably fade away much like the "tea party's" did.
- an0nymous, on 04/24/2009, -3/+14Independent comission. This is a criminal matter, not a political one.
- snafflepaffle, on 04/24/2009, -3/+14And Pelosi is a particularly bad one. She's an embarrassment to the democratic party. They should get rid of her ASAP. Don't tell me that there's no one who could do the job better than she can.
- SeekerDarksteel, on 04/24/2009, -0/+11The attack on LA was foiled months before we even started torturing for information. So the claim that torture prevented an attack on LA isn't just inaccurate, its a deliberate and bald-faced LIE.
Now why would someone deliberately lie about the utility of torture if they could cite actual acts of terrorism it prevented? The only reasonable conclusion is that torture did NOT prevent any actual acts of torture.
So not only were we torturing, we were torturing and gaining absolutely nothing in return. Stop being so ***** gullible just because you don't want to admit that we ***** up big time. - earthtoandy, on 04/24/2009, -11/+21I knew immediately she was a bad seed. She has done so much damage to this country and the democratic party.
Has she done one thing right?? - yeahwhatever58, on 04/24/2009, -8/+18I just heard on the news that Pelosi is flip flopping now and is saying that she did hear about the waterboarding but could not stop it or was not able to do anything about it...
- Bloodwine, on 04/24/2009, -1/+11or at least a two-term limit like the Presidency. There are too many lifetime politicians in Congress.
- 3nder99, on 04/24/2009, -4/+14This is the reason the Democrats have consistently refused to open up this can of worms. Right now the Democrats for the most part are seen as the White Knight. Clean and above all of this, yet if an actual investigation is launched America will have to deal with the fact Pelosi and company not only voted for these things, but had intimate knowledge of the very things they are using to politically attack the Republicans. An investigation would implicate Pelosi, the leader of the Congressional Democrats.
Right now there is nothing more than the Democrats in Congress want than for this whole thing to disappear. They simply cannot win, all they can do is be dragged down. - offrdbandit, on 04/24/2009, -3/+13You've gotta give Dodd time to work a few bills through Congress benefiting his interrogators so he can get the special treatment.
- BOTW, on 04/24/2009, -0/+10Amen. Career politicians - of both parties - are killing us. Maybe 2 terms in any one house of Congress, 3 total. No more than two terms in any appointed executive office.
Folks who are constantly campaigning for election are pretty much tailor made for corruption or for kowtowing to the party extremists who can stay energized for all the campaign BS. My only concern with term limits is the possibility that it would simply result in the parties become even more machine-like. At this point, I'm willing to give it a shot. -
