Pelosi briefed on waterboarding in '02

politico.com — Nancy Pelosi denies knowing U.S. officials used waterboarding — but GOP operatives are pointing to a 2007 Washington Post story which describes an hour-ong 2002 briefing in which Pelosi was told about enhanced interrogation techniques in graphic detail. Two unnamed officials told the paper that Pelosi didn't raise substantial objections.

    I think waterboarding is an acceptable method of interrogation/torture. However, if this woman, and many other prominent Democrats, knew that this was happening as far back as 2002, they have absolutely no right to criticize the Bush Administration for it now.

    I'm not sure what's worse. Bush believing it was the right thing because the justice dept said it was or Pelosi beliveing it was the right thing but not having the balls to defend her position.

    I think Pelosi...at least with Bush you know what his position is on the techniques, agree with them or not. Pelosi agrees with the same techniques and then when public opinion turns, so does her lies.

    Obama better watch out before the whole of the US govt is under a witch hunt trial. And thats A LOT of democrats included.

Clean and above all of this, yet if an actual investigation is launched America will have to deal with the fact Pelosi and company not only voted for these things, but had intimate knowledge of the very things they are using to politically attack the Republicans. An investigation would implicate Pelosi, the leader of the Congressional Democrats.

    Right now there is nothing more than the Democrats in Congress want than for this whole thing to disappear. They simply cannot win, all they can do is be dragged down.

    Folks who are constantly campaigning for election are pretty much tailor made for corruption or for kowtowing to the party extremists who can stay energized for all the campaign BS. My only concern with term limits is the possibility that it would simply result in the parties become even more machine-like. At this point, I'm willing to give it a shot.
