- tinkerthinker, on 05/08/2009, -28/+195She is a damm liar!
We need to fire them all! - pookydirt, on 05/07/2009, -28/+192FTA:
The report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, appears to contradict Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics. Instead, she has said, she was told only that the Bush administration had legal opinions that would have supported the use of such techniques.
The report details a Sept. 4, 2002 meeting between intelligence officials and Pelosi, then-House intelligence committee chairman Porter Goss, and two aides. At the time, Pelosi was the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee.
The meeting is described as a “Briefing on EITs including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities, and a description of particular EITs that had been employed.”
...At the briefing, Pelosi did not formally register objections to the interrogation techniques authorized by the Bush administration. President Obama has said he considers such techniques to be "torture."
...The report also details dozens of other meetings with members of Congress -- though not with Pelosi present -- where the use of waterboarding and other interrogation techniques was described.

So they didn't know, huh? - Harvester1, on 05/08/2009, -23/+168Is lying by Congress becoming so mundane that it no longer even raises eyebrows? This should be at least as widely and frequently reported as Pelosi's self-righteous diatribes against the use of "enhanced interrogation methods" on those terrorists who most wish us dead.
- bossm4n, on 05/08/2009, -20/+163Okay all of you who have been calling for Bush and Cheney to face the music, Josh and JLeopold especially, among others, are you going to prove that this is not just a Republican witch hunt and hold Pelosi's feet to the fire or do you give her a pass?
- brickbat, on 05/08/2009, -19/+129Hence "Impeachment is off the table."
***** bitch. - raggsat98, on 05/08/2009, -21/+106Was there ever any doubt?
- bettverboten, on 05/08/2009, -27/+110You could just tell that bat winged twit was lying when she said
"We were not, I repeat we er a not told that waterboarding or
any of these other enhanced interrogations were used."..........
Damn Liar! listen for yourself
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxsWV4-MCGM&eur ... - SwiftKick34, on 05/08/2009, -14/+47I don't think we'll be having a Truth Commission investigate this, now will we?
- elsenorpompom, on 05/08/2009, -6/+39you hold her to the fire. Ive always supported war crimes trials knowing full well that many top democrats would be going down as well. Some might even argue than anyone who signed the authorization for use of force are guilty too which would essentially be the entire Legislative and Executive branches.(exception B.H.O, but because he has perpetuated it maybe not)
- ReconTeam, on 05/08/2009, -23/+56And some people are still under the illusion that the Democrats are more competent and honest than recent Republicans..
Pelosi is a self-righteous ass who cares more about her career and forcing liberal "values" on the nation than anything else. - blugill, on 05/08/2009, -14/+46hhhmmmm, amazingly interesting that Pelosi only cared about EIT when it was politically correct to do so!
I bet her district LOVES her now! - BelXul, on 05/08/2009, -1/+29And so it become so much clearer...
For quite some time, Rep. Dennis Kucinich had pushed for impeachment proceedings to be held against the President and Vice President. Such hearings would dredge up a lot of dirt on all sorts of people in the know.
Throughout all of this, the biggest obstacle toward this end within the House itself was none other than Nancy Pelosi.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, it is no longer a matter of speculation that she knew something that she could get in hot water over. Now it can be seen that this stonewalling against the impeachment efforts was based on a personal CYA agenda.
Let's see how long these people try to keep accountability at bay. I can think of so many instances throughout history that demonstrate that the longer such an effort persists, the more harsh the inevitable consequences become when the it's time to answer.
In the meantime, let's eat some cake. - reed311, on 05/08/2009, -7/+35Fine. Throw her in jail with the rest of the Bush crew. I don't really care who was responsible, Democrat/Republic -- it doesn't matter. These people need to be brought to justice. It seems bizarre that folks on the Right would even care about this story, though, as they seem to think there was no laws broken and no torture instituted.
- TinfoilHats, on 05/08/2009, -12/+39Your comment is so chock full of logic. I can tell you are a big reader.
- RJ0534, on 05/08/2009, -6/+32Both parties suck. Seriously. Republicans and Democrats spend too much time arguing with each other to step back and realize that they both lick balls. Politicians should stop the petty arguments and actually do something.
- aesur, on 05/08/2009, -8/+32She was in a position to AT LEAST object. She heard it, she said nothing.
When asked about it, she flat out lies to the public saying she'd never heard about any of it.
I'd say that's a big deal. - NiftyG, on 05/08/2009, -4/+28Bingo.
She was set up and then owned by Cheney. - GovernmentSp00k, on 05/08/2009, -15/+39Of course this taxpayer funded professional liar / criminal posing as a "politician"..knew. That fact should be blatantly obvious to anyone with more than 2 properly functioning brain cells to put together. You notice how she lies in our faces about it? In front of the TV cameras for the "news" media, in interviews, etc. yet nothing is done. In the same shaky manner & 'cat that ate the canary'-candor as she speaks of her $trillion dollar no accountability "bailout" fraud and "stimul-us" swindles.
What else is the Pelosi liar and fraud being completely dishonest with us about? What other government scams is this bitch privvy to and complicit in? Where is the investigation into her illicit, subversive activities by the "Department of "Homeland" SSecurity" gestapo? We ought to put the sleaze on a Waterboard and start asking some questions.
And to think, this absolute ***** wretch was voted in a second term by the gullible, easily hoodwinked American morons. - rizzo2008, on 05/08/2009, -7/+30why is anyone surprised? She is probably the most corrupt, dishonest, hypocritical congressman/woman out there. I think people on any side of the political spectrum can see this
- whiledo, on 05/08/2009, -12/+35This blog seems to be spinning the report a bit. Here's the article from the AP:
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5 ...
"CIA records show House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was briefed in September 2002 on harsh interrogation techniques being used on terrorist suspects, but the records do little to settle a dispute over whether she knew waterboarding had already been used against one prisoner by then."
"Pelosi is only mentioned in the first briefing, on Sept. 4, 2002. The chart, drawn from the CIA briefers' memories and meeting notes, says the meeting described the interrogation techniques that had been used on alleged terrorist Abu Zubaydah.
But the CIA chart does not specifically mention the use of waterboarding at that briefing."
"The first mention of waterboarding comes in the description of a February 2003 meeting attended by Pelosi's successor on the House Intelligence Committee, California Democrat Jane Harman. Harman wrote to the CIA expressing concern about the techniques, the only known objection formally raised by a member of Congress at that time."
'"As this document shows, the speaker was briefed only once, in September 2002," said Daly. "The briefers described these techniques, said they were legal, but said that waterboarding had not yet been used."
Even the CIA suggests that its account of the meetings will not settle the debate over who knew what and when.'

Clear as mud, huh? - Laminarcissus, on 05/08/2009, -7/+29I am a liberal. I think you are very smart.
- mikeinto, on 05/08/2009, -46/+65Go to Drudge and look at the creepy photo of Pelosi with the caption Drip, Drip, Drip,
Drudge has got that old spark back! - inactive, on 05/08/2009, -19/+37And there's one of the first Pelosapologists now.
- chicagodigger, on 05/08/2009, -5/+23Of course - but if we're doling out justice, let's start at the top.
- tasine, on 05/08/2009, -26/+43But, but, but what makes you guys think she was lying? In la-la land, where tall is short, good is bad, lying is telling the truth. We need to get that straight! How stupid can we be?!
- qwertydvorak, on 05/08/2009, -6/+22"they will do anything to deflect from the topic of prosecuting the Bush Administration."
The Bush Administration came out and said, 'we are doing this thing, this thing isn't in our eyes torture, and the dem leadership has been informed of what we are doing.' the dems said, 'we know nothing of iit, and it is horrible, vote more of us in because we have the moral high ground on things.'
seems pretty straightforward to me. one came out and was honest with the people, and the others lied and pointed fingers the whole way. - mithrasinvictus, on 05/08/2009, -5/+21No, but now there's proof.
- pookydirt, on 05/08/2009, -10/+26I can actually see her pants on fire there...
- inactive, on 05/08/2009, -4/+18And that is how they do it, they make you part of the conspiracy so you will protect them.
Its no different to the Mafia making the new kid commit the murder, from then on in he say nothing, ever! - kaelyiesta, on 05/08/2009, -1/+15Can we please focus our anger on the politicians and not other people? Partisan blame games just let the corrupt ***** in politics off the hooks as the parties have at each other. Categorically calling liberals liars is evidence of dogmatization or brainwashing. It's no better than those who think the same of conservatives without exception. It only serves to distract us from who is at fault.
- CaptCarrot, on 05/08/2009, -4/+17When you can't address the article, draw attention to the submitter, right Wilhelm?
- pookydirt, on 05/08/2009, -11/+23If she ever is, it'll be one big trip over the carpet on her way to the middle...
Kersplat! - elsenorpompom, on 05/08/2009, -5/+17only because she screamed so loudly about it, maybe by bringing down a dem we can bring the whole house down. Dems reps they are both factions of the same party...what did Madison tell us about factions everyone?
- suckmywake, on 05/08/2009, -7/+19First we call it Torture... Then the PR people make "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" .. and now we have an Acronym for it "EIT"
All of you PR mouth-breathing word bending sob's make me sincerely hope that this planet it struck by a comet to cleanse the sickness we are from it.
Spin.. Will there ever be a time when everyone finally throws down their hands and says "Enough of this *****". I did, I dumped my TV years ago, I fight PC terms whenever I can, I do not watch, believe or even listen to mass media. Now, it appears there is no avoiding the ***** we call .. ah ***** it. It's not worth it... You can't save or talk sense to people this far gone.. - pookydirt, on 05/08/2009, -13/+25This article is about Pelosi being a bold faced liar before the American people. I give nothing of my feelings one way or another, and certainly not as a reflection of party affiliation. Your search affirms that quite nicely as well.
Your attempt at logic to assail me is flawed, and your conclusion is utterly ridiculous, not to mention ineptly in error. - SifuMoKung, on 05/08/2009, -3/+14It would be awesome to see her and Cheney sharing an attorney. Now that's bi-partisanship!
- egoideal, on 05/08/2009, -15/+26It's official everyone! Presenting facts is now considered "spinning".
- antoniuk, on 05/08/2009, -11/+22JESUS ***** CHRIST Why must everything become an acronym? Say torture say bomb but stop with the use of 3 letter acronyms.
- kanojo1969, on 05/08/2009, -3/+14Of course you bring her down, *****, do you really think democrat supporters are so cynical they would let this go? That evil bitch has worked tirelessly to prevent the republicans being brought to account in the last 5 years.
Now, the democrat leaders may well be so hopelessly corrupt that she maneuvers her way out of any kind of prosecutions that *might* take place. It would not surprise me at all.
But the general public, the democrat voters, they want her behind bars just as much as Cheney and Bush. By your implication, it seems that if the roles were reversed, republican voters would back off if one of their own was implicated. That's a tragedy if true, and if not it's a tragedy that you think it is. - richmomz, on 05/08/2009, -16/+26Lying bitch.
- pookydirt, on 05/08/2009, -7/+17The briefing specifically states, “Briefing on EITs including use of EITs on Abu Zubaydah, background on authorities, and a description of particular EITs that had been employed.” to Goss & Pelosi.

Those are the exact words. You can read it for yourself:
http://digg.com/politics/BREAKING_Pelosi_Knew_abou ...
http://www.humanevents.com/downloads-pdfs/EIT%20Br ...
Zubaydah was waterboarded. The particular EITs used were described. Waterboarding was a particular EIT used.
How in the world you can think it's any different is beyond me. - spider-man, on 05/08/2009, -1/+11Answer this question. Do you want Bush and Cheney to face the music? I'm guessing the answer is yes regardless of what Pelosi did. So if you were consistent and honest, you'd want the same to apply to Pelosi regardless of what Bush and Cheney did. Otherwise you are just a straight up hypocrite.
- TinfoilHats, on 05/08/2009, -7/+17We'll do it live!
- hominidx, on 05/08/2009, -2/+12People I know in her district who are further left than me feel the same.
Of course, it makes us wonder who votes them in. - mnocket, on 05/08/2009, -7/+17So are you saying that waterboarding is the only EIT that Pelosi considers to be torture? She was fine with all the rest? Plus, even in the case of waterboarding Pelosi felt no need to object to prevent it from being used - she would only have objected if she was told it was already being used?
- TinfoilHats, on 05/08/2009, -9/+18Will the people that ordered and performed this be put in prison?
- duckless2nd, on 05/08/2009, -8/+17No surprise at all. And I am sure she wont be pressed or confronted with her lies. Media bias? Both sides cannot tell the truth to save their lives. Too bad the people never hold them accountable -come voting time people will forget or no longer care.
- inactive, on 05/08/2009, -0/+9Wow, I've never seen Digg turn on a Democrat before.
- TinfoilHats, on 05/08/2009, -1/+10You're right, there's a couple Republicans who are against torture.
