- 911truthguy, on 10/10/2007, -13/+247This is why we have to break out of the false left-right BS, Pelosi is using our troops as a pawn to enhance the position of the dems without reguard for life or the will of the American people. When the good of the party outweighs the will of the people, it's time to put a stop to it folks, and the time is NOW.
- soul1239, on 10/10/2007, -11/+140Pelosi has arguably become the most complicit member of congress to the war crimes perpetrated by the Bush regime. By continually funding the war and disregarding their constitutional obligation to impeach those guilty of numerous crimes & misdemeanors, Pelosi and those with her are setting the standards by which future presidents will act. I'm calling my congressman today to express these thoughts and more, please please please do the same.

"I'm in power now, I'm tickled pink with that, now you people who put me here need to shut the hell up, stop asking me to do what I said I would, and send me a donation." - AntBing, on 10/10/2007, -2/+73Which is why the Senate and Congress have a lower approval rating than Bush.
- LetsGoHawks, on 10/10/2007, -7/+76The only good thing is she's from San Francisco, maybe they'll kick her sorry ass out next time around.
My disappointment in the Democratic congress cannot be understated. Over 18 months in power and what has changed.... NOTHING!!
You want my vote? Promise me 3 things.
1) You'll bring the troops home
2) You'll raise taxes on the top 5% back to where they should be
3) You will balance the budget.
Pretty much everyone in Washington is worthless. My company has a division in Canada, near Vancouver (one of my favorite places in the world). More and more I think about moving there. - SeethisPass, on 10/10/2007, -5/+72Pelosi and bush are on the same side against you.
- hiphoc, on 10/10/2007, -2/+62Nancy obviously traded the honor of being the first woman speaker for the gift of no impeachment. Hey, I thought if moms were in power things wold be different. The fact that this woman is a grandmother and she is helping to send other peoples sons to war goes to show what kind of mom and person she is. She is no better than her male counterparts. Congress has the power to have the troops home by christmas. But the majority of the country would belive her over us.
- mrdeathgod, on 10/10/2007, -3/+58Well maybe we should impeach her then
- sissipher, on 10/10/2007, -5/+60Vote every current senator and representative out in the next election. Time for sweeping change to send a message.
- omnicore, on 10/10/2007, -1/+40It's pretty sad that she will tell us that she'll never impeach even if we the people who elected her tell her she needs to do it. Elected officials need to listen to the people.
- adgreene, on 10/10/2007, -3/+34Congress needs to defund the war.
- LeeMaple, on 10/10/2007, -3/+33I still find it laughable that you people don't see the forest for the trees... The whole thing is a giant scam, there is no left vs right, there is no Liberal vs Conservatives... They're all social elites that don't want to do what's best for the country. They're in it for themselves and for money and for power... They're all working together to keep you down.. Elections are fixed, candidates are fixed, policy is fixed, the course is chosen and these people stick to it. They don't even try to hide it and people still whine and gnash about the republicans being evil and the democrats as being spineless. It's all part of the show...
- Batfishy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+32Okay, what do we do next? I have just written another letter to Nancy P. Any advice? Act now HOW?
- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27bush is ***** up, but people like pelosi are enabling him. the dems complain about how checks and balances are being eroded, but they don't utilize what little is left.
- TheLoneHoot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+25Agreed. Recall her and ensure (under "threat" of additional recalls) that the next speaker will move to impeach. I mean this woman's first words were "impeachment is off the table"!!! This after the dems were voted into power on the pretext of "sweeping change".
- fuzzynyanko, on 10/10/2007, -3/+27So, should we get Pelosi impeached so that we get someone who will impeach Bush?
- Fallout911, on 10/10/2007, -2/+26Nancy Pelosi is going to lose against Cindy Sheehan if she continues this bull *****.
- NCSUspoon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+25Hmm, remind me again Mrs. Pelosi. Why did we elect you? If that were your campaign slogan, you would be just another soccer mom. Although I dont entirely agree that she is using our troops as 'pawns' as 911truthguy says (conspiracy theories do not float well with me), I do think that we elected a democratic majority to restore power to Congress. They are not doing their job. Only thing to wonder now is when citizens will take arms.
- horatiolust, on 10/10/2007, -6/+28Haven't you Digg-nuts figured this out yet - you don't matter
- animenick65, on 10/10/2007, -2/+24This is absolutely infuriating. Dems are in power and still nothing is getting done! It's too the point where Rep or Dem doesn't matter. This government is corrupt and just plain old doesn't give a *****. Anyone up for another revolution?
- spurtle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+21Recall Pelosi.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22"

2) You'll raise taxes on the top 5% back to where they should be
3) You will balance the budget."
If they want my vote, they have to actually accomplish those things. They already promised them and didn't deliver. - damonic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+21The ONLY way to fix our government is to completely eliminate "donations." Eliminate PACs. The people in office have no desire to work for the people of this country. They are ALL in the pocket of big businesses. By eliminating the money the politicians receive, we will get people in office that actually care about us and will do the will of the people.
- meistaiwan, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18Not really. Impeachment is very important, as the executive powers asserted by Bush will be passed on to the next president. It's not a partisan issue, not a war issue, it's a check and balances issue. Although Bush would never be removed from power, he needs to be impeached(articles brought against him anyway), to let the next president know these powers asserted by Bush are not theirs and will be taken away.
- xjadams, on 10/10/2007, -0/+17I won't dig you down, but I disagree. None of us are powerless. We might be politically powerless b/c corporations have subverted politics. But we're still consumers. Our wallets are the fuel for the coprorate engine.
Stop driving. Start biking or riding mass transit where you can. If you can't do that then change how and where you shop. Buy local even if it's more expensive and do without the latte at Starbucks every morning. If you really like latte, then make it yourself again, like we did 10 years ago. Find out who the sponsors of the PACs that Pelosi took money from are. Then stop buying from them. Change your bank to a local credit union instead of BofA or Wells Fargo. Understand that it is the financial inidebtedness of Americans that is keeping them powerless and fix that for yourself if you are in debt. Unplug your TV. Let me say that again. Unplug your TV. Start talking to your friends and family and start influencing them to do the same. Change your investment portfolio to a set of investments that are good for humanity instead of bad for humanity. Instead of putting that $5K in a savings account or money market fund for 5%, help a friend with credit card debt at 19% out, and charge them 8% interest. They save and you make more, and they'll eventually be out of debt too. There are 100s of things you can do today.
When political votes don't count because the dollars matter more, then start voting with your dollars. Even though 10% of the people control 80% of the wealth, they still want the other 20%. They want it more than anything and they'll do anything to get it. Use their drive to become even more dominant and exploit it as the weakness that it is. - SzaszMan, on 10/10/2007, -5/+221) Bush should be impeached for breaking the FISA law (he boasted about this in public) - breaking of the FISA law is a crime punishable by a year in jail, and he boasted publicly of breaking it. And this is just for starters.
2) Nancy has the power to end the war now - simply stop the House from voting on funding bills. Yes, the minority can offer their own spending bills, but again, the majority (led by Nancy) can choose to NOT ALLOW the full house to vote on it.
Bush is impeachable, and Nancy is a calculating tool. ***** these people, ***** the Democrats, and double-triple ***** these evil Republicans. - GabrielS, on 10/10/2007, -1/+16Congress controls the purse strings. They can cut off funding whenever they want.
Right now the Democrats are just delaying this vote until the election year. When cutting off the funding becomes a politically popular position, the Congressional Democrats will do it. - lsatkins, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14Just goes to show you that Dems care just as little about the American people as the Republicans do. They don't give a ***** what we want. They just say the right things to get elected and will lie, cheat, and steal to stay in office. Both sides are power hungry ***** that don't care about us.
- animenick65, on 10/10/2007, -3/+16I think if you do a little more research you'll find there is plenty against Bush to warrant him going to Hell, nevermind being impeached.
- wheresjim, on 10/10/2007, -0/+13While I agree with you they have been pretty worthless, it's been 9.5 months, not 18.
- omarciddo, on 10/10/2007, -24/+37Pussy.
- RabidAngel, on 10/10/2007, -5/+17Viva la Revolution! And how dare anyone suggest that Ron Paul is in the same group?!? If he were, they wouldn't be doing everything possible to alienate him from debates, scoffing at his numbers, and so on.
- 2reflective, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16Yes wanting to know the truth about such an important event is such a joke. I can barely contain my laughter.
- 2reflective, on 10/10/2007, -0/+12Some individuals from other nations will gladly help, but their governments are unlikely to do anything.
I'm British but I post so much about the US because I still think it has the potential to become the best force for good in the world today. Don't give in to the corporate corruption which has invaded both political parties like a cancer. There is still time to turn things around. - majmcdonald, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13I have no real power to stop Bush from sending our troops to war. I voted against him in the last election, that's really all I can do. Like the majority of other Americans, i disapprove of the war, and Bush knows it, but does nothing. He also knows he will not be elected for a 3rd term, so what does he care what we think?
Congress does have the power to stop Bush, and most of them WILL run for office again. Knowing this, they should listen to the people. So if I am going after someone, it will be my representatives, not the president. - Gryffydd, on 10/10/2007, -4/+16Start buying assault weapons. :)
- frazw, on 10/10/2007, -1/+13isn't it
1. riot
2. ?
3. profit - ivandir, on 10/10/2007, -1/+12You can't do anything my friend. As an individual you are powerless and politicians know that.
If a lot of diggers read this article and if we all write letters then there might be some hope to changing their mind but for now things will remain as they are. Bush will not be impeached because congress doesn't want that to happen. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -3/+14She doesn't have the votes? Then she should GET the votes! Leadership is about forming alliances, making compromises and getting people to work toward a single goal. An E-4 in the military has that much leadership ability. It is quite obvious that Pelosi is not a leader. But then, you Democrats were told that before you put her in that position and you chose to ignore it. Oh, but they've started over 300 investigations of the Bush administration, renamed nine post offices and other federal buildings and have given the bottom two percent of workers a 70-cent pay increase. Now THAT'S leadership!!
- geolittle, on 10/10/2007, -2/+13It got them no where because Pelosi couldn't deliver. Lead, Follow or get the ***** Out of the Way. Aren't there any democratic congress persons that can deliver what they promished? The House has the power of the purse. Use it.
- n8glenn, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Amen, brother. I don't know exactly what's going on behind the scenes, but things are definitely not what they seem. It is possible that the democrats are helping prolong this war so they can crucify the republicans in 2008, it is also possible that since the two parties both represent the same interests, the whole opposition party thing is just a dog and pony show, but it certainly isn't possible that the democrats are actually fighting back against the republicans. If they were, they would do whatever it took to hold the president accountable and end this war, as it is, NOTHING has changed! We have the war, the military commissions act, and even the new spying on americans illegally act, which was passed by the DEMOCRATIC party controlled congress! This is absolutely a sham and it's time for americans to start forming new parties and revolting en masse from the republican and democratic parties which no longer represent them AT ALL!!!
- BelXul, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Like the official government one that's already been disproved?
- Stryder81, on 10/10/2007, -7/+17St St St Stutter Stutter you ***** lobbyist bought *****.
Gravel should go back as a senator and grab her and others by the ear.
It's AIPAC's war, She is with Aipac. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Whether or not Bush leaves office is of little consequence now. The fundamental principles upon which this nation was supposedly governed have been irreconcilably subverted. The entire nation now stands teetering on the edge of Fascism and those responsible are gearing up for their last big push. The damage is done and it will never be reversed.
- theNazz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Pelosi has no chance for re-election in CA. Her career ends with her current position because of her refusal to follow the will of the people who put her there. She had the power to cut off war funding but decided to take her vacation instead. Maybe she should run for President.
- l00s3r, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Bush has no Veto power if there is no Bill to fund the war.
- tenrec, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12After watching this I realize that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi had accomplished something that I thought was impossible. She has made former Republican speaker Dennis Hastert look like a brilliant leader by comparison. She is clueless.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11Clearly the woman is an impostor. Her job is to delay and prevent anything from getting done. You still listening to people's words when their actions (or lack thereof) speak so much more loudly? That's what stupid is.
- IbnDigg, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Wow, nice to see someone actually doing something about this. Most of the posts i see are just American's complaining and actually doing nothing.
God job! - dclowd9901, on 10/10/2007, -3/+12Are you kidding? As much bad-mouthing as the Dems do about Bush, behind closed doors, they are absolutely jerking off to the amount of power he has brought to the executive branch. Right now, Pelosi's imagining what her party, perhaps even she herself, would do with all that power. They're not going to turn around and try to quash it with congress, who has a tradition of playing party lines and getting jack ***** done.
Our leaders want to turn our country into a Dictatorship. Plain and simple. -
