I just think politicians need to sack up and admit when they make a mistake. The people in charge were doing anything they could to maximize profits in the short term so they could get bigger bonuses. The fact that their actions would bring down the system in the longer term didn't matter at all to them.

    Wall Street and the financial industry have bought and paid for the majority of both of our political parties, who obediently destroyed all the regulation put in place after the Great Depression. This freed the banks from all restrictions meant to protect consumers and allowed them to gamble with our money.

    Eventually, after getting obscenely rich from fraudulent loans and derivatives, the dice the banks kept rolling came up snake eyes. Instead of allowing the banks that gambled too big to go belly up, Wall Street turned to the government they had bought and paid for and a Democratic Congress and Republican President started shoveling money to them hand over fist.

    Still, Pelosi has been lying through her plastic face for far too long and she certainly deserves to be investigated for her role in approving torture. It's pretty obvious why impeaching Bush was 'off the table' now! Let her share a cell block with Bush and Cheney.
