- charlie6969, on 07/10/2009, -11/+186It would have been more refreshing to see Noonan act like she had a backbone BEFORE Palin quit.
Just sayin' - dgoshilla, on 07/10/2009, -11/+157The worst part is 7/10 Republicans would still vote for her in 2012. What does that say?
- Hetman, on 07/10/2009, -10/+153Democratic victory in 2012.
- JDFrancis, on 07/11/2009, -7/+104Somebody did a study and found of 1,200 state governors since 1900, only three quit during the first term. Jim McGreavy, Eliot Spitzer, and Sarah Palin.
Good company. - liberD, on 07/10/2009, -10/+97It baffles me that anyone would ever believe Sarah Palin is qualified to be VP or President. She's uninformed, uneducated, erratic, myopic, self-centered, oh, and a moron. Those criteria didn't work so well for Bush either.
- littlebylittle, on 07/11/2009, -12/+79As she quits:
"I'm not wired that way," "I'm not a quitter," "I'm standing up for our values." I'm, I'm, I'm.
Typical GOP logic. - dgoshilla, on 07/10/2009, -4/+60Accusations of being "smarty pants" and "so 6th grade" in the same sentence makes us tick.
- Chestnutridge, on 07/10/2009, -4/+53Noonan is a conservative Republican. She was speech writer for Reagan and she knows what she is talking about when it comes to politics. Her comments are not "catty" but informed.
- Fixhotep, on 07/11/2009, -0/+48That's partially his point...
- Pr0phet, on 07/11/2009, -0/+35As did McGreevy.
- SOS84, on 07/11/2009, -6/+39It says they are pants on head retarded. Anyone that would vote for that vacuous skank would have to be.
......luckily for us, even if 7 of 10 Republicans voted for her they would only get about 28% of the overall vote because her party is dying. - Paranor01, on 07/11/2009, -1/+32you're comparing the actions of a group like the KKK to liberal attitudes ?
shows you're just a tool of Rush and the GOP conservative !right because liberal = progressive and open minded, the opposite of people that are in the KKK, but that's what they've been trying to "redefine" it as haven't they. they're trying to make it look like liberals are actually the dregs of humanity that want nothing but ruin. you're the run-off crap that's overflowing from Rush and their ilk. - QQMore, on 07/11/2009, -13/+42Just because you are incapable of concentrating on more than one thing at a time doesn't mean everyone else is you hoser.
- j0en, on 07/11/2009, -0/+26Oh that damn liberal Noonan! Oh ***** she's our lord and savior Reagan's speech writer....
- MScrip, on 07/11/2009, -1/+27There's no room for so-called "facts" when discussing Sarah Palin... :)
Man, it's gonna be good to hear her introduced as Mrs Sarah Palin instead of Governor Sarah Palin! - Terasiel, on 07/11/2009, -1/+26Someone forgot to tell the troll that the Klan is strictly anti-Left. Not even remotely a chance of Klan-like activities from "them liberals." You know, hence the name "liberal." Like "liberty". Strange word I know.
- Patti23, on 07/11/2009, -6/+29I think we react so strongly to this because -
Palin took the offer from McCain - and now the irresponsibility of that choice is even more clear.
Do you want an experienced pilot flying the plane or just some one who has seen some planes?
Do we want our firefighters to quit when they feel a bit overwhelmed ?
Should we tell our children to quit when the class at school becomes difficult? - smacksaw, on 07/11/2009, -3/+26It says that voting down party lines instead of considering the merits of each candidate individually is the ultimate in constructing a brain-dead democracy and government.
- PhilMoskowitz, on 07/11/2009, -6/+28Noonan is the postergirl for the classless lying republican ***** machine. Every single word coming out of her mouth is complete *****. That she let this slip out is shocking.
- Fixhotep, on 07/11/2009, -1/+22Hope you're having fun trolling the hell out of this thread.
- TheSwashbuckler, on 07/11/2009, -2/+23Funny thing is, Palin uses a teleprompter just like every other politician.
The way Republicans go on and on and on about teleprompters you'd think that they were invented for Obama... - BasalCellBossk, on 07/11/2009, -4/+25HA HA HA HA HA you *****' moron! She put the words in Reagan's mouth, she created his message! She's the poster child for the intellectual conservatives! You are ***** out of luck *and* brains.
- Craig304958, on 07/11/2009, -7/+27It says the average IQ of Republicans is dropping fast as the relatively smarter ones turn their backs. To be fair, though, at least since Nixon the GOP has consistently toadied up to the least thoughtful, most hair-triggered, lowest common denominator on the right. Seems to have worked.
- Starduster2008, on 07/11/2009, -1/+21I have been an Alaskan resident since 1975. I want to confirm Noonan's viewpoint. She is right on. Palin is a nut. She is charismatic, and someone you would like meeting at a bar or some place, but not as a leader or any kind of management. Her scope is narrow.
- cybersaur, on 07/10/2009, -18/+38The entire GOP is horrifying!
- DaveClarkOne, on 07/11/2009, -4/+22After McCain's utterly ridiculous choice of Palin and a party that worships the alter of Limbaugh, I'm no longer a Republican. 7 out of 10 Republicans may still vote for her, but it you count former Republicans like myself, it's probably closer to 7 out of 20 "Republicans."
I think the U.S. needs two parties, but the Republicans are doomed with its current leadership. They have become irrelevant. - copycatcreative, on 07/10/2009, -11/+29Noonan's comments are dead on.
- CUGI08, on 07/11/2009, -2/+19Watch out for the lawsuit Peggy!
- Dauntless1, on 07/11/2009, -2/+18No, they said "We want someone empty-headed and easily controllable that will hand us the womens' vote without forgetting that her place is on her knees in front of her husband."
- Dipsomaniac, on 07/11/2009, -0/+16Why do Americans keep electing people you'd like to have a beer with? If I ask my provincial premier if he wants to go have a beer with me, and he says yes, I'll say "You stay there and DO YOUR JOB." I don't want my government being beer-buddies with the population, I want them to be representatives.
- Dipsomaniac, on 07/11/2009, -1/+17"Played"? So the whole thing, from Palin coming in as a hick and leaving as a quitter, the middle bits where she was intellectually unable to keep up with a radish, all that - that was being "played", was it?
How do you think it'll go next? Will John Boehner take a huge ***** in the middle of the Vietnam Memorial and declare victory over the left? - Fullvinyl, on 07/11/2009, -1/+17Obama's children weren't held up as models of purity and teenage abstinence as part of the overall Republican idea of sexual education, and then revealed to be complete hypocrites later. Nice try, though.
- avshanbh, on 07/11/2009, -1/+16Sarah Palin is a narcissistic opportunistic liar. I hope she runs in 2012 so she can get ripped to shreds even more.
- Chestnutridge, on 07/11/2009, -1/+16You a bit over the top aren't you?? After all, it isn't the "liberals" who are all over this story. Just as Noonan is a conservative Republican, it is John McCain's staff (no exactly a bunch of progressives) that have been trashing her for months. Even in Alaska, despite her "pity me" claims of persecution, she has had trouble with Republicans as much as Democrats. Frankly, most of us liberals and moderates don't really give a damn about her but we are enjoying watching the conservatives flail around blaming everyone else for their own problems. After all, you are the guys always preaching to the rest of us to take responsibility for our failures.
- ChristmasPoo, on 07/11/2009, -2/+17Palin is a poster child for why you SHOULD use a teleprompter.
- richirwin, on 07/11/2009, -7/+21It says republicans are ***** idiots.
But we learned that from the 2000 and 2004 elections, if there was ever any doubt. - WasabiBomb, on 07/11/2009, -0/+14A Republican said something bad about another Republican? Quick! Call her a RINO! Close ranks!
You're rapidly running out of Republicans, Atario and greyhawk69. By the time 2012 comes around, you'll only have yourself left to vote for. - JuanBSU, on 07/11/2009, -4/+17We're doing much better now that the last ***** is out of office.
P.S. Can you somehow block Palin from entering the lower 48 states ever again? Thanks. :) - Paranor01, on 07/11/2009, -1/+14sorry aadyss, you have the monopoly on that in this thread.
come to think of it, you and your cronies have the monopoly of mocking, belittling and acting inhuman everywhere you go.
must be a good feeling knowing your at the bottom of the evolutionary line of humanity. - Starduster2008, on 07/11/2009, -0/+13Palin's credentials are slim. Wasilla, when she was mayor of that town, the population was 5,000. It was debt free. Any of you could have been mayor too. It's a simple town, full of box stores and small mini strip malls. Alaska was ripe with oil money when she became Governor. Anyone could have been Governor; the legislature does the "work." The entire population of Alaska, is less than the population of one metropolitan U.S. city. She's fine for our small state, but running a country on an international level?
- Breyker4711, on 07/11/2009, -0/+13Why not link the actual article... not an article about the article?
- BasalCellBossk, on 07/11/2009, -4/+16What hate? The criticism under discussion here is coming from the center of the Republican party. Are you saying that Peggy Noonan of all people is peddling Palin hate?
Most people I know of don't hate Palin, although her outrageous claims about Obama and terrorists made in order to whip up the crazies were pretty despicable. Most people are just dumbfounded by her lack of insight. The real outrage is with a system that can actually elevate people so obviously unqualified for responsibility into leadership positions.
You know, we thought Bush was pretty bad, a failure elevated far beyond his capabilities. Palin took it way further, she makes Bush look like a PhD. No one who really cares about their country relishes it being under the influence of such blockheads.
Her followers, though, engender quite a bit of hate, due to their activities and stated beliefs. - JuanBSU, on 07/11/2009, -5/+16Your screenname suits you well.
- Marmashi, on 07/11/2009, -2/+13She was anything but controllable. That is her problem. She loves the crowds and the preening, but she doesn't care about people. Only herself. She does not like having to buckle down and work. That is why she is cutting and running. Money is being offered to her.
- Paranor01, on 07/11/2009, -0/+9you need serious counseling on reality and perhaps some new meds.
- smacksaw, on 07/11/2009, -6/+16And did you notice that HuffPo was linking to her comments from a totally unsubstantiated fraud of a left-wing propaganda website on the level of MoveOn? They linked to those terrible anti-capitalists at wsj.com! What does that stand for? Whiny Socialist Justice? Certainly can't be...Wall Street Journal.
- mouthbreether, on 07/11/2009, -1/+10Nothing wrong with the 2000 election. Bush ran on a platform opposite of how he actually governed. Can't really blame his voters for not seeing that coming.
- diadelsuerte, on 07/11/2009, -1/+10Wow - that is some extremely hard hitting analysis right there.
You should be on MSNBC.
Just go back to "Bush is the worstest president evar!!111!!!" stuff - It has more cache. - Paranor01, on 07/11/2009, -0/+9Definitely not the strong suit of ilk like you aadyss. You compare anyone liberal to the likes of the KKK (see earlier comment on this thread), your kind thinks homosexuals are a lower form of life just below liberals, gods knows what you think about anyone with a wrapping on their head.
Everyone treats other human beings like *****, it's part of our nature. What makes us more human is being able to deal with ourselves, as well as others, and to rise above the negative instinctual method (which seems to be the way of the !right) and bring out the positive in ourselves, to pass on to others.
It's called growing up... maybe you should consider it yourself aadyss. - spookyttws, on 07/11/2009, -5/+14Palin '12!!! If she made it past the primaries (which will never happen, but I can hope) it will be the best and most amusing Presidential election ever. Before last week I kept saying that I hoped she'd just disappear, t bunow I hope she explores every opportunity she gets. It's obvious she won't be winning any election from here on, so the chance of comedy is at it's highest.
