- taltoris, on 01/23/2009, -1/+18She voted against TARP, that makes her an excellent choice in my book.
- JimmyDeanKNVB, on 01/24/2009, -0/+11Supports same-sex marriage AND gun rights?
Kick ass... - winter360, on 01/24/2009, -1/+12she going to be a senator not vice president
- SEN5241, on 01/24/2009, -2/+11Pro-guns and anti-bailout. The democrats should be apoplectic about this choice.
- DocCochran, on 01/24/2009, -0/+9The Democrats complaining about her nomination because she supports gun rights are missing the point.
Sure, they could nominate some liberal who'll vote in lockstep with the party all the time, or, they could take to heart the fact that moderates outnumber liberals or conservatives.
Big tent, people. It's what the Republicans forgot, and it's why they've taken such a thrashing the past two election cycles.
P.S. Pro-choice, pro-gay marriage. And from what I've read, she knows how to raise copious amounts of money. - inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+8Apparently she has a 100% rating from both the ACLU and the NRA. I wonder how many people in Congress fit into that category...
- ryan850, on 01/24/2009, -2/+8From what I can tell she's not a ***** moron. That's the difference.
- winter360, on 01/24/2009, -1/+7and your point is pretty stupid too
- mikelieman, on 01/24/2009, -0/+6How do you know he's a terrorist if you haven't presented any evidence in a trial?
- mikelieman, on 01/24/2009, -0/+4It's not the pro-guns, or the anti-bailout.
It's that she voted to make unlawfully spying on you -- somehow legal, so her campaign contributors AT&T continue to rake in the money from it. ( You didn't think they were doing it for free, did you? ) - inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+4Funny how that exceptionally valid question is never answered.
- mikelieman, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3She voted FOR Retroactive Telecom Immunity, and all it cost AT&T was a measly $1000 donation from their PAC.
Putting an optical splitter on the network's backbone intercepts ALL the packets, so it's disingenuous to suggest it's analogous to a Pen-Trace. It ain't. It's the wholesale collection of ALL TRAFFIC. Regardless of origin or parties. EVERYTHING.
She took her stand for the illegal spies tapping our phone calls and internet and AGAINST FREEDOM AND LIBERTY.
She took her stand as SOFT ON CORPORATE CRIMINALS AND SPIES.
She's unfit to represent me.
Funny thing is, I was happy she had won her House seat. And even though she whores her votes ( and a cheap one at $1000 bucks ) she couldn't do too much damage in the House. The Senate is another story. Patterson's taking bad advice. - fajitamelt, on 01/24/2009, -1/+4Yes, the topic you are looking for is down the hall, fifth door on the right.
- IanCube, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3I live in her district, shes competent.
- neilk85, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3Pro Choice,
Pro Gay Marriage,
Pro Gun Rights (a 100% Rating from NRA),
Pro Civil Rights (a 100% rating from the ACLU) and a
Strong Fiscal Conservative (voting against the TARP bailout fiasco)
....not a bad choice :) - randyzaia, on 01/24/2009, -0/+3Hopefully not, you know, Caroline, you know, Kennedy.
- fajitamelt, on 01/24/2009, -1/+4She voluntarily dropped out...
- fajitamelt, on 01/24/2009, -1/+3That's what they said about Obama...and Palin.
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2Well, I've seen a bit of hysteria from some Democrats on the leaving gun owners the hell alone part, but none yet on the bailout (and it isn't likely in the future IMO, since so-many "Republicans" voted for the bailout, too, starting with McSame!).
And I agree with you about the spying on citizens stuff, of course. Anyone in either party who voted for it has a lot of explaining to do, just like anyone who votes for the bailout or "gun control" (victim disarmament) despite the plain words of our Constitution. - sapphire9488, on 01/24/2009, -0/+2I'm very impressed with Gov. Patterson's choice to make her the new US Senator! I've never known of any other politician who shares my own views so closely. I'm a Democrat who supports their platform almost completely- gun control and illegal immigration being the only issues I seriously differ on. So far, it looks like Gillibrand's opinions are pretty much identical. I wish her the best, we need more moderate Dems!
http://www.ontheissues.org/NY/Kirsten_Gillibrand.h ... - Christianptriot, on 01/24/2009, -1/+3I just wish that our "pro-gun" mighty elected ones would get it right on the Second Amendment - it has NOTHING to do with hunting rights....it is GUN OWNERSHIP as an individual, as affirmed by the Supreme Court.
- Mexrocker, on 01/24/2009, -1/+2WOW, and to think, when she was running this past November for her seat, it seemed like she would lose by a lot...
- zizzybaloobah, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1indeed they are: http://digg.com/politics/DAVE_PICKS_GILLIBRAND_AS_ ...
- akchrs, on 01/24/2009, -2/+3So did Joe Biden for the Presidency.
- mikelieman, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1She got lucky and was running against a real ***** a few years ago. That made a lot of people support her.
- mgadalsky, on 02/11/2009, -0/+1Thanx a lot for the info. Even if it's not true it is quite a nice idea. http://drinkster.info
- BassMasterP, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1my thoughts exactly
- mistergoomba, on 01/24/2009, -1/+2Now who's going to replace Kirsten Gillibrand?
- Merp08, on 01/27/2009, -0/+1lol
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1Even though, you know, that's obviously the funniest possible outcome, you know, by far.
- whatthefu, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1Differing viewpoints is one of the best things about this country.
- kizio, on 02/10/2009, -0/+1Sounds interesting... Wow, these are cool! http://petsjournal.info
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1Gillibrand a gay rights proponent
http://www.ontopmag.com/article.aspx?id=3117&M ... - lilamae, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1I'm astounded. The Governor of New York has a brain.
- mikelieman, on 01/24/2009, -0/+1Pro Illegal Domestic Surveillance.
A horrible choice. You're either FOR Freedom and Liberty or you aren't. She ain't. - MoneyShot, on 01/24/2009, -5/+5Did she use Buy It Now or did she wait to the last minute and bid snipe?
- mikelieman, on 01/24/2009, -1/+1And like Obama, she voted for Retroactive Telecom Immunity.
Soft On Corporate Criminals.
Hates Freedom and Liberty, Loves spying on The American People.
Unfit to represent The People of New York. - Altair27, on 01/24/2009, -5/+4WHAT HE PICKED A WOMAN?
SHOCKING. - dennysugar, on 01/24/2009, -4/+3Smells like Palin 2.0
- Saphes, on 01/24/2009, -2/+0What's with picking just women for this seat...women are qualified no doubt, but are there any men being considered?
- pepspaa, on 01/24/2009, -2/+0Good, ***** Kennedy.
- Pinkertinkle, on 01/24/2009, -4/+1never heard of her
- UnknownHero, on 01/24/2009, -9/+4When McCain picked an inexperienced woman new to the national stage, for a national post, she was savaged. I expect equal treatment. I'm looking at you, Digg.
- Iamien, on 01/24/2009, -8/+14TH!
- inactive, on 01/24/2009, -17/+2I think any ACLU lawyer that helped free a prisoner from Guantanamo should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting a terrorist. That is if he goes back to killing people when released, like most of them have.
Oh ***** wrong topic.

What is Digg?
