- b4one, on 06/08/2009, -27/+1008This is utterly nuts. Pastor Drake says he knows God's thoughts!? Serial killers and Nazis say the same things. It is getting completely out of hand when extremist citizens in the USA are given radio time to pray for the death of their newly elected President who has done nothing but work to help the country.
What a nut! Let's hope that the government stops him and he is kicked out of his church for being so hateful and ignorant. He calls himself a Christian and prays for the death of healthy people (but only if they are Democrats, black and can actually do some good - What was Pastor Drake saying during the Bush years?).
All the right-wingers have no idea how much the election of Obama has help calm down the anger towards the USA around the world and inspired goodwill. Rush, Hannity, this Pastor Drake and others are really just cowards and people who are full of their own egos and attention they get from their utterly confused and crazy followers. They are no different than the Nazis in Germany during the 1930s who plotted against the government and turned Germany into a war zone.
They are a bunch of dangerous, mean, fascists. - seattlegirluw, on 06/08/2009, -14/+582How very Christian of him.
- mrsrodgers, on 06/08/2009, -18/+349I certainly hope Pastor Drake is some fringe right-winger... if this kind of disgusting rhetoric is a part of main stream conservatism then I fear for this country.
- Hetman, on 06/08/2009, -16/+303It is a great thing God does not answer prayers or there would be a lot of dead people in this country.
- alleged, on 06/08/2009, -10/+292Let us pray:
Oh Lord, please protect us from your followers.
Amen. - scottknick, on 06/08/2009, -18/+253Lordy, Lordy. The Religious Right is certainly outdoing itself in the areas of hate speech and violence, aren't they? If this keeps up, by 2012 the Republican nominee is going to spend half his campaign time apologizing.
- mnpilot, on 06/08/2009, -31/+253Faux is becoming irrelevant, and thus the more extreme actions and stunts.
They are failing and know it. - Anomaly100, on 06/08/2009, -11/+210I'm a Christian and I really REALLY wish these nuts would quit making the rest of us look bad. I've had people that feign Christianity on Digg tell me I can't be a Democrat AND a Christian. I can't be pro-choice AND a Christian. Well, I don't wish anyone to die like this "Pastor" does. I feel I'm a much better Christian than he pretends to be. The "personal relationship" he says he has with God, may very well be with an entirely different being-
- eagle3300, on 06/08/2009, -11/+192Just crazy. That Pastor is sooo lucky to be living in the USA, if he was in many other countries he would have already been arrested. It amazes me how silent all the kooks were over the past 8 years of theft, murder and torture now when the majority of the citizens speak in a united voice for change, all these cranky right-wing people spew their venom.
Obama's election has brought a positive change and hope but a lot of bitter, lonely, dimwits don't want it and are working to stop progress. Hopefully people in the USA will stand up and denounce this crazy man. Someone should send this clip to CNN and Bill Maher. - inactive, on 06/09/2009, -5/+153Yes. Praying for death is totally Christian.
- jdthree, on 06/08/2009, -14/+160There is a special place in HELL for Pastor Drake.... right next to Fred Phelps. They both are proof that the American Taliban Lives!!!!
- paintgrl, on 06/08/2009, -7/+144Is this the 60's all over again? It reminds me of the same crap spewed by the southern white power nuts against the Civil Rights Movement.
- iticu, on 06/09/2009, -4/+122"No, i'm not a terrorist support, i'm a vengeance of god supporter"
jesus.. - EarlOfLade, on 06/08/2009, -18/+130I guess FOX radio is now in bed with right wing religious terrorists. What will Secret Service say about this?
- AgeofMastery, on 06/08/2009, -10/+107And when some unbalanced follower of his tries to implement the "will of God" he and the rest of the wingnuts will deny responsibility.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -5/+98That dude is obviously deranged.
- rednip, on 06/08/2009, -4/+95"It reminds me of the same crap spewed by the southern white power nuts against the Civil Rights Movement"
That's because it is the same people. - aFoxy21, on 06/08/2009, -9/+100I hope mnpilot is right and that this is an example of the faux wing-nuts feeling cornered and lashing out. Problem is when you see the # of gun sales going up as they have since Obama was elected. We're looking at an angry, disenfranchised, armed movement - people who fully believe that this nation is going to hell in a handbasket and are willing to do *whatever it takes* to stop it. I fear there will be far more violence in this country before we come out the other side -- we have more to fear from the Tim McVeigh's of the world than we do random Arab terrorists...
- windandstorm, on 06/09/2009, -9/+99God prefers an athiest.
- Homerr, on 06/08/2009, -4/+93Crazy pastor is crazy.
- ironhide, on 06/08/2009, -3/+90Don't sink to their level.
- mediaphile, on 06/08/2009, -4/+88I have the feeling the host of the show was trying to expose the lunacy of the pastor. As much as I hate Fox News TV, this guy seemed to be doing on the side of sanity.
- OsceneInTx, on 06/08/2009, -10/+88Ps. Just so you all know, this is not just *SOME* pastor. Don't let these Talibangelicals fool you.
He was at one time the second VICE PRESIDENT of the SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION.
His views are almost dead on with the majority of the convention...hell the SBC only put a statement saying they 'did not agree' with what he said.
Where is the outrage that he is trying to speak on the SBC's behalf? why don't they cut him off, kick his church out of the convention? They won't because a great many of them DO agree. - JoeParanoid, on 06/08/2009, -8/+85That's some karma he's acquiring.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -9/+85"I HATE what that guy is saying (obviously; he's a psycho), but I'll die for his right to say it."
Just so you know, hate speech and threats are not covered under the right to free speech... - beautifulady, on 06/08/2009, -8/+81This guy is crazier than a ***** rat. People actually listen to this crap and next thing you know, someone gets killed. This wackjob is publicly exhorting someone to assassinate President Obama, either directly or indirectly. Bill O'Reilly caused the death of Dr. Tiller; who knows what lunatic is listening to this craziness and feeling righteous enough to take the next step?
- Xaevier, on 06/09/2009, -4/+75As a right wing Christian I can say this man is insane. Nobody I know nor any church I have been at would ever say anything like this.
He is just a crazy nutjob and don't assume all Christians are like him. - JCEEZ, on 06/09/2009, -1/+69If you change Christ / God with Allah, this can be taken right out of a Al-Qaeda press release.
- paperclipsNsoup, on 06/08/2009, -1/+67RAmen brotha
- OsceneInTx, on 06/08/2009, -11/+75I fear the latter is the truth. In 2006-2007, this man was a VP of the Southern Baptist Convention, which represents 16 million southern baptist Christians, of whom the majority are Right-wing Conservative Christians. Most of the so-called Christian politicians in the right actually belong to an SBC church.
This man has a radio show with a huge following also.
He is not just *some* pastor. - MrSaundercook, on 06/08/2009, -5/+68So we're all supposed to believe that God himself is speaking to this man telling him to pray for the death of Barack Obama?
Honestly it's nothing but fear and confusion these people are suffering from. They see a black man who wants to essentially bring peace between Christians and Muslims to ease the most prominent conflict affecting our world today, and they assume that this somehow will bring the end of Christianity or even the world. I just don't get it. It seems like with every step forward the States tries to make towards change the more fear is inspired among citizens. I'm pretty baked so I hope that all made sense.
"That's what God said" give me a break. - RusskiGuy, on 06/09/2009, -4/+65This is at the same time when religious zealots would claim that Atheists are the ones that are immoral and dangerous...
- STPZ, on 06/08/2009, -1/+60I pray to Joe Pesci
- Maddoktor2, on 06/08/2009, -3/+61Weak minds are fertile ground for seeds of discontent.
- novenator, on 06/08/2009, -6/+64Extremists like this need to be exposed. They can never again hijack our government.
- oriondr, on 06/09/2009, -3/+59It didn't sound - to me - that the talkshow host was on this psycho's side.
- aussiejan, on 06/08/2009, -1/+56I know what you mean. I am a Christian but I have begun to question the "Christianity" of American Christians. I found a Christian web site the other day when I was looking for Christmas midis. The woman had a lovely thing on the front page talking about a person's relationship with God. I enjoyed it very much but immediately I wanted to question her - "Are you a real Christian (meaning living through Christ's teachings - love of your fellow man and helping the disadvantaged) or are you one of those hateful Evangelical Christians who are racist, homophobic and blame all your problems on poor people and immigrants?"
Of course, I didn't write to her to ask but it bothered me that the question popped into my mind. - aussiejan, on 06/08/2009, -1/+55and their children. Bigotry is a generational disease.
- inactive, on 06/09/2009, -6/+60The scary part is that a large number of christians would agree with the statement (minus the sarcasm), as long as it's someone they disagree with, politically or religiously.
- ironhide, on 06/08/2009, -6/+59Being raised Southern Baptist, this doesn't surprise me in the least. That's a crazy bunch.
- clvngodess, on 06/08/2009, -15/+66These goons practice Blasphemy. Along with the possibility of multiple personality disorder, or schizophrenia (as evidenced by the admission of hear god speak).
For a moment I thought I was on WingNutDaily, or the Onion. Then I remembered it was a Farce Nuze interview. I almost laughed until it occurred to me that there is a wicked and rotten agenda behind anything Farce does. They need to be brought down. They are dangerous. - schwack, on 06/09/2009, -5/+54"Don't get mad at me, get mad at God!" - are you ***** kidding me? FOX gives him this much airtime?? Simply rebroadcasting to the sheeple. The Sad but True conclusion: There are people that actually listen to and support this colossal douche bag.
- Hetman, on 06/08/2009, -1/+46He gets ***** done.
- EggAndMuffin, on 06/09/2009, -8/+53That is NOT what a Christian should do!
- MrColdheart, on 06/08/2009, -8/+53Thanks for agreeing that he's intolerant and bigoted but your just a chicken ***** for thinking that's the same as calling someone who calls for someones death "sick pro-life Fundie" as being on the same level.
- inactive, on 06/08/2009, -7/+50Why do people listen to guys like this?
- OsceneInTx, on 06/08/2009, -10/+53exactly!!!!
"Oh, woe is me! We didn't mean for someone to actually act on all of our intimidation and threats! You just never know when some nut is going to take you literally these days!"
***** THAT.
DOWN WITH THE TALIBANGELICALS. - gwolf, on 06/09/2009, -2/+44How can someone who genuinely believes in a god think he's going anywhere but straight to hell for this. Every time I hear one of these freaks professing to know what's on God's mind I remember why I stopped going to church when I was ten. They seem to be able to justify pretty much anything.
- Misinformant, on 06/09/2009, -5/+47Uh, yeah. Just this and about 293074890513867589 other reasons.
- oriondr, on 06/09/2009, -11/+53Yes.. it is.

Christianity as a whole is a load of bollox though, so no need to worry. -
