- benintn, on 10/08/2008, -19/+325Very mavericky of her...
- voxlisa999, on 10/08/2008, -27/+234You betcha she did! Oh wait, no, she probably didn't because she doesn't read, but luckily before she went on Liddy's show:
"When suggested that a Watergate operative may not be a smart choice, Arctic Power co-chair, Mike Navarre, suggested most people didn’t know of Liddy’s background and his role in President Nixon’s administration and demise.
Letters to newspapers came pouring in, as did phone calls to the Governor’s office. “I think it’s terrible. If Alaska wants to put the best face on things it’s probably best to not hire felons,” Senator Kim Elton said." - inactive, on 10/08/2008, -16/+194Liddy served four and a half years in prison in connection with his conviction for his role in the Watergate break-in and the break-in at the office of the psychiatrist of Daniel Ellsberg, the military analyst who leaked the Pentagon Papers. Liddy has acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in “if necessary”; plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a “gangland figure” to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap “leftist guerillas” at the 1972 Republican National Convention — a plan he outlined to the Nixon administration using terminology borrowed from the Nazis. (The murder, firebombing, and kidnapping plots were never carried out; the break-ins were.) During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents.
Liddy has donated $5,000 to McCain’s campaigns since 1998, including $1,000 in February 2008. In addition, McCain has appeared on Liddy’s radio show during the presidential campaign, including as recently as May. An online video labeled “John McCain On The G. Gordon Liddy Show 11/8/07″ includes a discussion between Liddy and McCain, whom Liddy described as an “old friend.” During the segment, McCain praised Liddy’s “adherence to the principles and philosophies that keep our nation great,” said he was “proud” of Liddy, and said that “it’s always a pleasure for me to come on your program.”

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Priceless. *wipes eyes* - larsone86, on 10/09/2008, -16/+160Don't give her too much credit. Palin probably thinks Watergate is a theme park in Southern California.
- thebradmiskell, on 10/08/2008, -19/+137The only good terrorist is ones own terrorist, huh, Sarah?
- wherearemymeds, on 10/08/2008, -15/+126Sarah,
How's that vetting process work again?
With love,
The Filtered Press - Jeffrey19, on 10/08/2008, -17/+94"Maverick" is an incorrect metaphor. I prefer "Loose Cannon."
- jamesalfaro, on 10/09/2008, -15/+78If Obama needs to answer questions about Ayers, McCain has the same obligation regarding Liddy.
In 1998, Liddy reportedly held a fundraiser at his home for McCain. Liddy was reportedly scheduled to speak at another fundraiser for McCain in 2000. The Charlotte Observer reported on January 23, 2000, that McCain's campaign vouched for Liddy's "character".
McCain's campaign officials said Liddy's character will appeal to many voters because he was following orders from President Nixon and kept silent afterward.
During the 1990s, Liddy reportedly instructed his radio audience on multiple occasions on how to shoot Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agents and also reportedly said he had named his shooting targets after Bill and Hillary Clinton.

All this may sound like ancient history. But it's from the same era as the bombings Ayers helped carry out as a member of the Weather Underground. And Liddy's penchant for extreme solutions has not abated.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/oped/ch ... - algaeturd, on 10/09/2008, -13/+68Palin = LOWEST COMMON DENOMINATOR among voters and Americans. It's time to turn the page on idiocy in the White House and Idiocracy in the United States. Say no to stupidity, say no to gimmicks, mud slinging, attacks and other failed republican policies and strategies.
- sweetbean, on 10/09/2008, -11/+53Liddy spoke about listening to Hitler on the radio, he stated that it "made me feel a strength inside I had never known before. Hitler's sheer animal confidence and power of will [entranced me]. He sent an electric current through my body."
-article from the Independent-
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/g-gordon- ... - tastypaste, on 10/09/2008, -9/+421. ACORN is not a Democrat organization.
2. ACORN brought the fraud to the attention of election officials, who then refused to act on it.
3. The fraud was done by individual canvassers trying to meet their quotas without doing any actual work.
4. Obama is not now nor has he ever been a part of ACORN. - cloviejr, on 10/09/2008, -7/+37The word "terrorist" is officially meaningless.
- cheesegypsy, on 10/09/2008, -20/+49I met him once and he flashed his illegal firearm to me. A grade A kook. He then hopped into his red corvette with H2OGATE as the tag. He is the moronic equivalent of Ayers, for certain.
- deem1890, on 10/08/2008, -20/+48I think the time McCain spent in Vietnam effected his mentality and judgment. Poor man!
He's incompetent to lead, Example: look at his VP... She's a nut! Bush 90 votes on his policies, etc... - Waiting2awake, on 10/09/2008, -8/+36I am hardly a liberal - and I don't fear her, I fear for your country if you vote for Bush a third time.
- bigteebo, on 10/09/2008, -5/+31Did you know Liddy also releases an annual calendar of chicks with guns? Maybe that's why he's on Palin's good side.
- inajeep, on 10/09/2008, -7/+30and Liddy has been unapologetic about it too. I heard him interviewed on Howard Stern and when asked about his willingness to kill someone he was matter-of-fact about it. I don't know what was more disturbing the fact that he had no qualms about it or by the sound of it, given the opportunity he would still have pulled it off. .
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -6/+28I think the majority of people just think she's a spectacular ***** dumbass, and are amazed at McCain's bad judgment in picking her. That she hemorrhages bad press and foolish statements nearly daily just makes for amusing reading.
- smacksaw, on 10/09/2008, -7/+28"Did Sarah Palin know...."
No, she didn't. She doesn't know *****. - Dumbledorito, on 10/09/2008, -5/+26"But... but... he's actually got a criminal record! No fair! Only WE get to label people "terrorists!"
Maaaaw! They're using FACTS! Make 'em STOP!" - tastypaste, on 10/09/2008, -3/+23No it's not. Obama has never been a part of ACORN.
- sweetbean, on 10/09/2008, -0/+20Wow, seriously, you should get a life.
- d0nkeym0nkey, on 10/09/2008, -9/+28WTF is going on with that woman
- Dumbledorito, on 10/09/2008, -5/+24"Liberals?" Conservative David Brooks said Palin "represents a fatal cancer to the Republican party."
Also, we already endured one sub-standard intellect backed by hubris and religious fervor in the White House, and that didn't work out so well over the past 8 years, in case you missed it. - JoeVet, on 10/09/2008, -0/+19So if murder and intentional subversion of the constitution and our electoral process is not hating America, what is your definition, simply being progressive?
- ZenMojo, on 10/09/2008, -0/+17Qwerty didn't confess to planning acts of terrorism and mass murder, Dingus.
- teebird, on 10/09/2008, -0/+17I'd have to agree with you on that.
"Terrorist" is used these days similarly to the way the label "Communist" was used back in the '50s and '60s and still is today among some people. If you want to bring all rational thought to a halt and avoid having to deal honestly with real issues, just shout "terrorist" and point in the general direction of your opponent. - roho76, on 10/09/2008, -2/+18Well if you consider fighting for your freedom and the sovereignty of our nation then I guess I'm a terrorist too.
I am so sick of the "TERRORIST" label. All it has done was turn Americans against each other. Sad. - labmouse42, on 10/09/2008, -3/+19If questioned about it, she would just tell a 'soccer mom' story then change the subject to Israel
- nick1971, on 10/09/2008, -1/+17My question would be, in this late in the selection cycle, is anyone caring about facts?
- mcjaggernaut, on 10/09/2008, -4/+20Calling Prof. Ayers a terrorist 40 years after the Weather Underground is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
- bffoley, on 10/09/2008, -2/+18What do you mean she doesn't read? She reads ALL of the newspapers and magazines out there, remember? ;)
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -3/+19... not women in general, just her in particular.
- wendelgee2, on 10/09/2008, -5/+20From the acorn statement:
ACORN pleaded with them to take our concerns about fraudulent applications seriously. One week later, elections officials asked us to provide them with a second copy of what we had previously provided to them. ACORN responded by giving election officials copies of 46 "problem application packages," which involved 33 former canvassers.
On September 23, ACORN had received a subpoena dated September 19^th requesting information on 15 employees, all of whom had been included in the packages we had previously submitted to election officials. ACORN provided our personnel records on these 15 employees on September 29.
Today's raid by the Secretary of State's Office is a stunt that serves no useful purpose other than discredit our work registering Nevadans and distracting us from the important work ahead of getting every eligible voter to the polls."
Analysis:
"So you have 46 bad applications out of 80,000 new voters registered in Clark County. And of course the thing about bad voter registrations is that they are easily flagged and almost by definition cannot result in a fraudulent vote. If someone submits a registration form with the names of the Dallas Cowboys on them, that won't result in the Dallas Cowboys voting in Nevada. The same with duplicate voter registrations. It would be the most time-consuming and least likely to be successful vote stealing effort in history."
Me:
So, let me get this straight, acorn was aware of some irregularities, called attention to them, but nonetheless the irregularities won't actually result in fake voters or ballot stuffing? That's a mole hill. - nc1024, on 10/09/2008, -7/+22Have a look a this link about Texas lawyers interfering with Troopergate in Alaska--the law firm specializes in litagating for a far right wing religious causes--anti-ACLU... Good Grief...

A - Yes I am, no I don't - that is why I stated "I fear for YOUR.." not mine.
B - With respect I think now is the time I go "Woosh" over your head. No Bush isn't running, but McCain and Palin are exactly the same - so the fear is Bush getting in again...
But hey - thanks for playing. - pintomp3, on 10/09/2008, -4/+19he would be the equivalent of ayers if ayers was trying to kill people, hadn't moved onto better things, and had BOMPTGON on his license plate. g. gordon liddy is worse than ayers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Ayers - Wryly, on 10/09/2008, -5/+20Naturally. Terrorists are mavericks.
- an0nymous, on 10/09/2008, -2/+16Yeah.
Remember that time qwerty plotted to murder and firebomb and was subsequently convicted of multiple felonies?
For that matter didn't Obama return that money?
Has McCain? - Chebsi, on 10/09/2008, -4/+18What do you expect? It's a team of maaavericks.
- roho76, on 10/09/2008, -3/+17When you need to get the job done, well, just throw in some "Terrorism" and poof like magic people melt in your hands. It's a pretty interesting aspect of psychology. It's akin to the father at the park hugging his daughter and someone calls the police because they think he was a child molester. The only thing the government has taught us is to spy on your neighbors and turn them in so you can feel like a patriot and support the troops. This country is *****.
I myself, will have a good time fighting the Government Infidels. - grayputer, on 10/09/2008, -0/+14NO NO NO - if they are on our side they're FREEDOM FIGHTERS not terrorists!
- evilregis, on 10/09/2008, -7/+20Are you aware of what he's been convicted of and what he's admitted to plotting?
He's exactly the definition of a terrorist. A homegrown domestic terrorist. Period. What do you call someone who plots murders, kidnappings and firebombing buildings?
If he were brown-skinned and/or a leftist he'd sure as hell be labeled one. - inactive, on 10/09/2008, -1/+14Whoa! Charlotte_Web is still pretending she doesn't know about rampant GOP voter caging efforts.
Seriously, the dishonest and hypocrisy is disgusting.
Do you actually consider yourself a good person for being so dishonest?
No wonder the GOP has become the party of corruption, if this is the character their supporters demonstrate. - Olfster, on 10/09/2008, -7/+20What was that glass house phrase I so often hear in politics?
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -3/+14How can that possibly be taken out of context? Any positive comments about Hitler, exterminator of millions = instant nutjob.
- inactive, on 10/09/2008, -13/+24Sarah Palin is an embarassment to this country.
