- axel000, on 09/03/2008, -83/+322Palin is an extremist, plain and simple, or would that be palin and simple.
bwaa ha ha harr ! - EatingPie, on 09/03/2008, -48/+220This guy was NOT Palin's pastor. He was a guest speaker at the church, and did not necessarily represent the views of the church or Palin, "Kroon ... cautioned against attributing Brickner’s views to her."
Indeed, it was a stupid thing for this guy to say. In the Bible, when God judged people, *he told them*. That's what the Prophets did, and it's *very* clear in the Bible that the spoke for God directly. So the attribution that terrorism is somehow God's judgement is not appropriate from a Biblical or Christian worldview.
-Pie - grlykool, on 09/03/2008, -39/+191Alaska first! Come on guys let Alaska become it's own country!
- stillcool, on 09/03/2008, -32/+155I can't believe this is the United States.
- b0rg, on 09/03/2008, -36/+151Why, when republicans pick a non-white-male for any office, do they pick the one who is clearly the worst possible choice? Hell, this woman makes Monica Goodling look like a legal scholar and a deep, curious intellect.
- brianbb98, on 09/03/2008, -37/+114CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT REAL ISSUES!!!!!!!!!
i'm not defending palin or mccain, nor am i voting for either...
but come on.... - Mercuriousss, on 09/03/2008, -10/+82Welcome to JesusLand!
- johnniecaravala, on 09/03/2008, -28/+101This woman is certifiable, along with anybody that follows this endtimes idiocy. Nice find, now the republicons can't bring up the experience angle and they've blown the Rev. Wright angle too. I wonder how else Ms. Palin can "help" John McCain?
- AndrewMoyer, on 09/03/2008, -4/+59Then we could invade the ***** out of them and take their oil! YEAAAAHHH!!!!
- jadenar, on 09/03/2008, -17/+66Because no intelligent, sane woman would be a Republican.
- naner, on 09/03/2008, -4/+52I have no problem with Alaska, or any state for that matter, seceding from Union. However, I do have a problem with someone who wants their state to secede running the rest of the country.
- alan7388, on 09/03/2008, -26/+72Just because she came and listened to it doesn't mean she believes it -- but she did not get up and walk out on it, as a decent person would have.
- KingPsyz, on 09/03/2008, -11/+55Oh you mean like the bastard child Palin's kid is carrying?
- mredamon, on 09/03/2008, -6/+50Most likely everyone digging this story up and making comments like this probably condemned the dredging up of all that Rev Wright material. This is nonsense and it's irrelevant. If you want a clean fight, the first step is stop going for the groin yourself.
- camipco, on 09/03/2008, -24/+60She supported Buchanan in 2000 too, who is known for antisemitism.
She probably just lost McCain Florida. - thelastcivilian, on 09/03/2008, -3/+392 terms of W, and you can't believe something like this?
- BlaqReaper, on 09/03/2008, -16/+51Although I'm no fan of Palin and McCain, I have to admit, this story doesn't reveal any of her beliefs at all. Just because she sat in a Church that had a speaker with radically horrible views...does not mean she has to agree with them. Look at Obama and Rev. Wright.
- ToastPop, on 04/17/2009, -4/+39It's sad so many people are digging you down. People who don't care about the facts, just as long as it puts Palin and her church in negative light. I'm for Obama but we should all respect truth in debate.
- Tyorant, on 09/03/2008, -10/+45Sigh, don't sign your name...
I Digg you though. - JBlaze, on 09/03/2008, -12/+47Maybe she was just asleep... it was church after all
- jasonspurlock, on 09/03/2008, -14/+482 weeks ago!
And you know what? After all we're learning about her, the MSM will never report on this. The "sexism" charges out there are getting too heavy and the networks are starting to kowtow and "fall in line" with the "patriotic republicans." - ColumbusRep, on 09/03/2008, -13/+45What a circus
- MmmPi, on 09/03/2008, -5/+35Quad you're really stretching on this one.
- faceless323, on 09/03/2008, -3/+32America ***** YEAH!
- altgeeky1, on 09/03/2008, -3/+32Obviously, Barack showed poor judgment when he chose to be born out of wedlock.
-rolls eyes-
Please start supporting America, instead of whatever continent most of your 401K is based in. You still have to live here, troll. - dood, on 09/03/2008, -2/+30Heh, wow. She's actually there in church promoting political issues. I thought churches weren't supposed to do any of that, or they'd risk losing their tax exempt status.
I didn't hear her preaching about Jews deserving terrorism here, though. - cadmiumpaint, on 09/03/2008, -9/+36McCain doesn't want the election to be about issues. That is what his own campaign manager said.
he wants it to be about character and personal stories.
this is what you get. - Cavemonster, on 09/03/2008, -2/+29Let's have one standard.
If Obama's "inexperience" is an issue, so is hers.
If Obama's church is an issue, so is hers.
If the right believes these things are non-issues, then let it be so for both. - cadmiumpaint, on 09/03/2008, -10/+36The McCain campaign came out and officially said they don't want this election to be about "Issues" they want it to be about "Character" but when the media constantly shows that Palin and McCain have ***** character they complain that we're getting too personal.
you can't have it both ways. its becomming obvious that the McCain ticket has a transparently think platform - gothgeek, on 09/03/2008, -6/+29"You do realize that the Muslim birth of Barack Obama was an out of wedlock birth because he was already married to a woman in Africa" Wow.. So he was married BEFORE he was born. That's impressive.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -9/+32@b0rg: did you just say Condi Rice. Wow...
- Hetman, on 09/03/2008, -10/+33If this election has taught me anything it is that Religion might save your soul, if you believe such things, but it will definatly ruin your political career in an instant. When are we going to get an agnostic president? Or better yet why even discuss religion during political campaigns.
- charliebucketts, on 09/03/2008, -1/+24Nobody cares about "born out of wedlock" anymore, the left has won that battle in society. It's the "abstinence only" sex education crowd that has the stick in there eye. That's what makes it fun to laugh at!
How is "Abstinence Only" working at your house? - Mercuriousss, on 09/03/2008, -5/+27That would be a valid argument but for one minor detail. How about if she gave her own speech?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QG1vPYbRB7k& - SomeStrangeEcho, on 09/03/2008, -3/+23is that not exactly what Obama did with Reverend Wright? the media blows that story up but we're supposed to just ignore this one because she's republican? yeah..
- aptanalogy, on 09/03/2008, -4/+23It's like he thinks that if he believes hard enough and repeats this phrase enough times, that it will ultimately turn into a substantive criticism.
- inactive, on 09/03/2008, -19/+38I don't care what she said, I'm still not voting for McCain.
- Kafro, on 09/03/2008, -27/+46Wasn't there some controversy over Obama's pastor too?
O wait...this is digg...my bad. - algaeturd, on 09/03/2008, -19/+37"I will make Alaska first!"
WTF??
I suppose if the only experience you have is of an Alaskan governor, it's all you know and all you care about. Especially since she was so PROUD of America that she wanted it to be its own country. Now THAT'S patriotic!
Republicans? Care to comment on how PATRIOTIC it is to want your state to secede from the union? - brstilson, on 09/03/2008, -22/+39I wonder how many people that defended Obama and Reverend Wright will be among those to throw that argument on Palin.
- uu2b, on 09/03/2008, -5/+21Palin's Pastor Problem has such a nice ring to it...
- malex, on 09/03/2008, -2/+18@ oscenester: Rice is definitely smart. Evil perhaps, but smart.
- vinod1978, on 09/03/2008, -1/+17Statically, almost 40% of children born after 2005 are "bastards".
So if you want to call Barack Obama a bastard - well he's only representing a vast amount of the population. - jgzman, on 09/03/2008, -2/+17Again, if you consider the things Obama's Church says, you have to consider the things Palin's church says.
Personally, I feel that the views of Wright should not be held against Obama. Therefor, I cannot hold these views against Palin.
Now, find me evidence that she supported those views, (listening to them doesn't count) and I'll shout it from the proverbial rooftops. But sitting in a church listening to someone talk is not sufficiently relevant.
Again, if hating Jewish people was the cornerstone of her church, that might be relevant. One sermon? Nothing. - Nothlit, on 09/03/2008, -0/+15That's why government should be focused at the state and local level, not the federal level, as the founding fathers intended.
- itzac, on 09/03/2008, -4/+19I agree with charliebucketts. I'm far more concerned with Palin's tenuous grip on reality and the hate she seems to spew at every opportunity.
- JamesPDX, on 09/03/2008, -0/+14Tell that to the media that flamed Obama over a very similar thing with the church he went to.
