    When they say the "repatriation of the public lands" they are not talking about secession. About 70% of the land in Alaska is owned by the FEDERAL government (ANWR is an example of this) and not the state of Alaska. This is why it is a FEDERAL issue to open ANWR, not a state one. If it were a state issue ANWR would be open as there is overwhelming support in Alaska to open it for drilling. Also, there is no proof that their 2008 platform is anything like their platform when Palin was a member. Buried as inaccurate, misleading, and whatever other descriptors there are.

We *united* under a single government for only a few limited purposes, chiefly among them national defense, arbitrage of interstate disputes, and international treaties. Each state is supposed to be sovereign within their territory.
