- booksnmore4you, on 10/24/2008, -0/+30Oh, this is better than the Energizer bunny.
- Dalhectar, on 10/24/2008, -0/+29It costs a lot to sell sex.
- MeetHouston, on 10/24/2008, -0/+29And McCain is pointing fingers at Obama's fundraising and spending...
- monsterkody, on 10/24/2008, -0/+29Sex sells... so let's get a charismatic MILF who has no experience. People won't mind, we'll just run positive stories on Fox news!
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -1/+28Also, here is a link to the full New York Times story on Digg: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/The_Caucus_Palin ...
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+24I think I am in the wrong line of work!! Can people really get paid $11K a WEEK to put makeup on someone else? Sign me up! I'm pretty good with an eyelash curler...
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+23Alternate Headline: "Palin Plasters On Makeup Like A Trollop"
- TheJimid, on 10/24/2008, -0/+22Ironically at this point they have spent two private college educations worth of money on making her a babe.
- thaprinze, on 10/24/2008, -0/+20She deserves every bit of that money. It was genius of her to make her look like Tina Fey.
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+19It's hysterical watching FOX fall all over themselves trying to minimize the $150,000 shopping spree. Ya know, the same Fox who for WEEKS railed on John Edwards for his $400 haircut. And now this? What comes around....
- nallu007, on 10/24/2008, -0/+18This is too bad.
Can some one audit and total the exact amount the RNC spent on Palin's looks from Aug 29 2008?
People need to know.
You can spend to an extent but this is simply irresponsible and lavish even for Hollywood standards! - Homerr, on 10/24/2008, -0/+14America can't afford Palin!
- 80hd, on 10/24/2008, -0/+12And they bitch about a $400 haircut.
- SheilaNoya, on 10/24/2008, -0/+11Her new wardrobe also cost $23,500 MORE than Joe the Plumber's house.
It's costs a lot of money to create a new fake hero for the Republican base. - bitfreak, on 10/24/2008, -0/+10The United States census bureau lists the poverty rate at around $25k per year. In other words, she (rather, her campaign) spent more on makeup in two weeks than the people in our country living in poverty earn in a year, assuming they even have a job.
I'm sure she can relate. Really.
http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/povmeas/povertythre ... - drmobutu, on 10/24/2008, -1/+11I feel sorry for Todd...he's going to have a hard time supporting her, in the style to which she has become accustomed, even WITH the Vice President's salary...
- jimrin, on 10/24/2008, -0/+9It won't be Todd who'll have to support her to the style to which she has become accustomed but the Alaskan taxpayers... It looks like the Palins will have to fudge some more expense reports...
- inajeep, on 10/24/2008, -0/+9NYT link which should be used instead of Huff's since it's drawing a backlash....
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/24/pain ... - ScienceDoc, on 10/24/2008, -0/+9Very expensive lipstick on a moron.
- bjs3171, on 10/24/2008, -0/+8i normally hate stories like this, but seriously, could just a normal makeup artist from a good salon, or wherever makeup artists work, not have been sufficient?
- Nasturtium, on 10/24/2008, -0/+8She makes Katherine Harris look au naturelle! Can anyone now say "lipstick on a pig" or is that still not PC ;-))))
- rjyanj, on 10/24/2008, -0/+8Wow. This is definitely the worst political campaign in history.
Anyone else think they're throwing the election at this point? I mean, WTF? - issaccheriyathu, on 10/24/2008, -0/+7Holy Mackerel Andy!
Yay! Joe Six Pack earns that amount in a year.... - toptopics, on 10/24/2008, -1/+8no ordinary hockey mom would be spending so much on make up..
- DavidTrom, on 10/24/2008, -0/+7Who says that the Republicans didn't learn from the Katherine Harris make-up fiasco.
Note to self: When naming an incompetent women for a high-profile job spare no expense on make-up .
http://politicalhumor.about.com/b/2005/08/03/kathe ... - redux2redux, on 10/24/2008, -0/+7If you are going to face-plant, at least do it in style...
- CarlsDigg, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5Especially since his business hasn't seen a profit in a while. As I understand it, the only income he's had recently is the snow machine race prize money.
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5Thanks for the lolz - you gave me my first good belly laugh of the day!
- apastafarian, on 10/24/2008, -1/+6I wonder how Palin's October styling expenditure compares with Obama and Biden's styling costs since birth? Anyone care to bet on which number is lower?
- inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5That's the first thing I thought: "Wow, they could have sent Levi and Bristol to college with that money." (Then at least they would have a better chance of providing well for their child!)
- sullivanst, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5What the slideshow also proves nicely is that those glasses she wears are just for show - the lenses are completely plain.
If they were for short-sightedness, they'd shrink her eyes; for reading, they'd magnify her eyes. You'd be able to see a jump in the line of her cheek at the top and bottom of the lens when the picture was taken at an angle, like many of these were. There's no jump AT ALL in any of the pictures.
Just for show. Just like her. - inactive, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5you can wear a mask

- toptopics, on 10/24/2008, -1/+6May be shez just trying to "Make Up" for being dumb
- peterick, on 10/24/2008, -0/+5Well, that would explain why she looks nice but speaks on politics like a third grader.*
* No offense to those of you with children in the third grade. - LilRabbitFooFoo, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4No, no, don't you see?! A $400 haircut for John Edwards is EXTRAVAGANT if and only if the candidate is in the opposing party. When it's for someone on YOUR team, no price is too high to buy the White House. /sarcasm
Look at the return Halliburton, KBR, Big Oil, Wall Street, and the Defense Contractors have gotten on their investment in Bushco. For $100 million or so, they've gotten almost $6 trillion in graft!
Even accounting for the shattered dollar, that kind of return on one's investment is the REAL American Dream...ahem. - AnnHedonia, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4Well, she is in training for her new "Dancin' with the Stars" slot, so she deserves a TV make-up artist, doncha think?
Heaven forbid she should apply her own war paint. - toptopics, on 10/24/2008, -1/+5no amount of make up can make up for your foolishness
- UFS2662, on 10/24/2008, -0/+4THAT'S FUNNY, I THOUGHT MCCAIN'S MAKE-UP ARTIST WOULD CHARGE MORE.
- SEOAly, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3And too bad they didn't invest that money in a tutor. Perhaps then she'd understand what the Vice President's job ACTUALLY is. Idiots...all a bunch of idiots. And they want us to trust them to run the nation? They can't even manage a political campaign well! Yikes...how the hell did any of them even get into the positions that allow them to botch a campaign so badly?
- HalleBurton, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3Don't be too harsh on her. She's just doing her part to kick start the economy.
You Betcha!
wink, wink - Stimulus, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3Does anyone know which charity the clothes will be donated to? She and my wife are the same size.
- SEOAly, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3Hey...it's not cheap to keep up that "MILF, soon to be GILF" image they've worked so hard to craft.
Who is the elitist? To sum it up: NICE SHOES! http://twitpic.com/i0kb - toptopics, on 10/24/2008, -1/+4Wonder how bad she would look without makeup
- applepro, on 10/24/2008, -0/+3Yeah, Hockey Mom's make-up team makes more than anybody on the staff! Yeah, Gosh Darn it!
- MediaWeasel, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Ya know, apart from that hideous lipliner she used to drag round her mouth a few weeks ago, there's not a lot of difference between Palin now and Palin then.
So presumably this make up artist uses brushes made from the finest filaments of angel feathers, and applies mascara using the delicate brush strokes from faery wings plucked from free range faeries at dawn when the dew is settling on their gossamer hair. And maybe Palin's blusher is wrought from the finest pulverisings of rose quartz dusted on a light base of minerals mined in the deepest parts of the moon.
Either that or the make up artist is an overpaid freeloader and she, Palin and the other freeloaders are milking the RNC for what they can get while the going is still good. - paintgrl, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2Palin, the gift that keeps on taking! Man the GOP really screwed the pooch and caught the stupid bug all in one fell swoop.
- AnnHedonia, on 10/24/2008, -0/+2he's not a good provider. He's a parasite. She gives him power, money, and sex. What does he give her? I was astonished (to use a McCain word) to see a photo of him holding Trig today. Rarely does it appear that he helps out with the household duties. Oh wait, I forgot, he BUILT their palace with the help of a few 'friends.'
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 10/25/2008, -0/+2So I guess you really CAN put lipstick on a pig and run her for high office. It just costs boocoo dinero.
- jizzlies, on 10/25/2008, -0/+2I guess that explains the campaigns not so brilliant strategery. And by the way, I don't think she's gotten her money's worth:
