- AtHomeBoy2000, on 08/31/2008, -35/+332Few people know that Palin has actually declared war... but not on a country... on Polar Bears.
- duckley, on 08/31/2008, -30/+236THE KNOWN FACTS, IN THE RECORD:
How come when Sarah Palin’s “water broke” last spring, while she was at a convention in Texas, her first thought was:
"Hey, my water broke. I should get on an airplane, not tell anyone I’m in labor, and fly to Seattle."
"Then, I should get on ANOTHER airplane, AGAIN not tell anyone I’m in labor, and fly to Alaska - 8 hours altogether - THEN have my baby."
Is THIS the kind of decision-making we want in the White House ? - lsumed, on 08/31/2008, -18/+176You can't make this ***** up! Wow.
What time does the Daily Show come on? - MotherGinSling, on 08/31/2008, -14/+147Best part of article: "Palin's mother-in-law, Faye Palin, told a New York Daily News reporter that she didn't agree with Sarah on everything and hadn't yet decided how she would vote. She added: "I'm not sure what she brings to the ticket other than she's a woman and a conservative. Well, she's a better speaker than McCain," Faye Palin said with a laugh.
Or better yet from Sarah Palin: "I am up to the task, of course, of focusing on the challenges that face America," she answered, and that was all she could say on her behalf on this question ("Are you ready to be President Palin if necessary?"). Then she abruptly shifted to how her candidacy would help Alaska. "And I am very pleased with the situation that I am in, when, when you consider the situation now that Alaska will be in.""
Egads! - consonance, on 08/31/2008, -17/+132Wow Cindy McCain, you are dumb.
- DFutureIsNow, on 08/31/2008, -15/+120She is also close to the north pole has she met Santa Claus yet?
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -20/+115Doocy and McCain -- taking dumb blonde to the next level
- veganpa, on 08/31/2008, -16/+100The biggest insult to the intelligence of Americans, ever.
- Woolamander, on 08/31/2008, -30/+113And Iraq and Afganistan, and serving on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
And McCain has... flying a plane and getting shot down. - TheDarkstarter, on 08/31/2008, -9/+73Michelle Obama = intelligent, genuine, a real woman
Cindy McCain = phony, fake, bimbo - sulthernao, on 08/31/2008, -5/+60Actually, she gave speech at the governors convention first after her "water broke".
- falser, on 08/31/2008, -2/+45I want to see video of that speech! And then I want to hear an explanation from Palin about this whole thing, otherwise I'm believing it.
- AndrewDB, on 08/31/2008, -10/+51This is like saying I have national security experience because I've flown to Mexico seven times.
I mean seriously.. who falls for this *****? - rz8472, on 08/31/2008, -4/+45Forget experience. Palin doesn't even have a plan.
Actually, forget plans. Palin said recently that she has "no position" on foreign policy. Hell, on this particular facet of public policy most diggers here might actually be more qualified because we actually have an opinion on this. - deadbaby, on 08/31/2008, -4/+36It's actually quite dangerous for women in late stages of pregnancy to fly at high altitudes. Very irresponsible.
- cadmiumpaint, on 08/31/2008, -18/+49As gov of Alaska, Palin has declared war....on the environment, voting against it every chance she gets.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -23/+54Obama has national security experience cause he grew up in the hood.
- booksnmore4you, on 08/31/2008, -10/+37Obama got his bachelor's from Yale in *International Relations*, has lived and traveled abroad, has shown an ongoing and intense intellectual curiosity about international affairs and has written about the subject a great deal in his books, and rigorously studies the subject on an ongoing basis, e.g., see http://papercuts.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/05/21/what ... Additionally, he has chaired one and sat on another Senate committee concerning foreign affairs, and has crafted legislation on the matter.
In contrast, Palin is a complete noob in international affairs - honestly, even I am much more experienced in it than her. She stated six months ago that she has not concerned herself with the Iraq situation except on a very basic level. "Palin is a neophyte in comparison" to Obama, said the Daily News-Miner. And the Anchorage Daily News stated, "She's a total beginner on national and international issues." Moreover, the McCain campaign has even admitted this but spun that Palin "would learn from the master of foreign policy", McCain, which besides being debatable on its face fails to account that McCain is 72 and a five-time cancer survivor.
Palin is not a veep pick. She is somewhere between a surrogate first lady because Cindy offers even less and a low level adviser who gets to sit in and listen with the big boys. She is a pander-pick aimed at low-information undereducated one-issue voters. - diggproof, on 08/31/2008, -7/+32What a retard. The next president doesn't take office until January. Do you have any formal education or do you just parrot to the rightwing pundits? You cheer on failure, what a POS you are.
- dannyboy3020, on 08/31/2008, -11/+37Maybe instead of digging up these articles, diggers should actually DO something useful instead of just preaching to the choir.
- alittleroy101, on 08/31/2008, -2/+26ridiculous.
Learn to spell it. - Dennisisok, on 08/31/2008, -4/+27wtf?
- connieLingus, on 08/31/2008, -34/+56WARNING: the digg/huffPO anti-gop echo chamber is approaching 120dB. Permanent hearing damage in eminent.
- KingHarvest00, on 08/31/2008, -3/+25There's a reason for that, and it goes hand-in-hand with her stance on global warming.
http://i33.tinypic.com/2dhzcph.jpg - Yez70, on 08/31/2008, -4/+24So, by your logic....
Obama should be far more qualified than Palin since he was born in Hawaii? It borders far more countries than Alaska does, including China, North Korea, Russia as well as multiple allies.
She has been the AK governor for 20 months. I suppose she held off several Russian invasions in that time, right? - LuCiFer6, on 08/31/2008, -4/+24You don't know anything about Polar Bears?
Polar Bears are fiercest killers in the animal kingdom... - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -6/+26you forgot to mention
mccain = makeup-riddled, trollop-***** - Homerr, on 08/31/2008, -5/+25Picture of what Sarah Palin looks like pregnant in one of her "earlier" pregnancies:
http://www.daylife.com/photo/0aFc47u3szeI6/Sarah_P ... - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -13/+30This keeps up and I'm gonna have to borrow some Depends from McCain.
- thewdog, on 08/31/2008, -4/+20A) Alaska doesn't even border Russia, learn your geography, there is water in between them. And it's not like this is Moscow, this is eastern Russia. Just because it's close to Russia doesn't mean she had to deal with Russia, there isn't a lot of activity there.
B) Are you seriously standing up for a person who wants to teach creationism in schools, doesn't believe global warming is man-made, and thinks we can "drill our way out of" this energy crisis?
Who's the real insult to the intelligence of Americans? - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -8/+23It will be a great land to take over if it's lead by a dottering old cancer victim and a soccer mom who thinks Dino-riding Jesus is a scientific fact.
Coffee prices will shoot up above gas because nobody will want to sleep, out of fear. - gungaroo22, on 08/31/2008, -12/+28I can't wait for elections to be over. Propaganda fights are ruining Digg.
- Ajajadude, on 08/31/2008, -10/+26Which kind of committees?
- diggapleeeze, on 08/31/2008, -8/+23At the very least, he has a plan.
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/
Please point us to Palin's opinions on these topics. - Drax0n, on 08/31/2008, -1/+15How about singing bomb bomb Iran at a government event?
How about cheating on his first wife and divorcing two more?
How about Going along with the illegal invasion of Iraq but yet saying no country should invade another country when it comes to Russia?
How about mixing Sunnis and Shiites up not once, but twice on camera?
How about saying he will follow Bin Laden to hell but not Pakistan? - diggproof, on 08/31/2008, -8/+21That's not what you said, you said they take over in November you dittohead douchebag. Now back to 9th grade US Government class, off you go!
- KnightWhoSaysNi, on 08/31/2008, -3/+17@CourtesyFlush
"Sarah Palin is Commander in Chief of Alaska's extensive military presence"
That means nothing if she hasn't actually been involved in any decision making regarding those forces. - mateo60, on 08/31/2008, -2/+16They must be stopped.
- boombye, on 08/31/2008, -4/+16Wait, so Dino-Riding Jesus is not fact? wtf who lied to me?
- glitch47, on 08/31/2008, -2/+16(Joke from The Daily Show friday night)
- SuperSneaks, on 08/31/2008, -13/+25So do I have national security experience b/c I live in a state that shares the same name as a country that was attacked by Russia? I want to be a VP candidate!
- greatgran1, on 08/31/2008, -14/+26And providing answers to issues rather than stale jokes and beauty queens.
- sugarazor, on 08/31/2008, -5/+17Just because you keep saying it, it doesn't make it even remotely close to being true.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -2/+14did she try to starve the downs syndrome kid?
- smurfsahoy, on 08/31/2008, -5/+17Well a trip to Europe requires a passport, something Palin didn't ever have until after she was chosen as VP candidate.
Also, when asked how she felt about being chosen, Palin responded, "It's nice, I get to finally see the rest of the country." - cadmiumpaint, on 08/31/2008, -3/+14By the same logic you use to say that about Obama, she has more executive branch leadership experience than McCain. You neocons keep forgetting that.
Be honest with yourself. The Governor of a state that has less people living in it than the top 20 American Cities, who has ZERO national or international experience hardly has the experience to become the President and be an international political leader. - dn11, on 08/31/2008, -0/+11or because he studied international relations at Columbia - and has been advised by some of the most experienced men in the Senate on the subject for the last 4 years? Obama has more national security experience than Bill Clinton, George W Bush, and Ronald Regan combined when they started their terms. Palin's sports journalism experience covering dog and snow mobile races may come in handy though.
- madfrogurt, on 08/31/2008, -6/+17This can't be the talking point for Palin's lack of experience. It can't, it's just too inane and baffling.
I must an experienced surfer since I lived by the beach for two years. - thewdog, on 08/31/2008, -0/+11@TSK05
Drilling isn't a final solution? “I beg to disagree with any candidate who would say we can’t drill our way out of our problem" - Sarah Palin.. sounds like a final solution to me.
And as far as dealing with Russia, all those specifically designated programs/outposts for Russia are controlled by the national government, not the Alaskan government. Just because she's located in Alaska doesn't mean she has to do anything there. - Jonmad17, on 08/31/2008, -0/+11http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?vide ...
