She didn't show any smarts at all! A lot of John McCain talking points, but nothing of her own!
Just 90 minutes of the Same!
Joe Biden made me proud!
Obam/Biden 08! - Dantewolfe, on 10/03/2008, -17/+111Wrong! Better call for the life line!
- creativity, on 10/03/2008, -11/+104I can see it now:
Kenan Thompson (dressed as a woman): Gov. Palin, what do you think about ......
Tina Fey: well, Obama is going to raise taxes....
Kenan Thompson: You did not answer the question.... again gov.
Tina Fey: well, McCain an I are Mavericks... - Moisgreat, on 10/03/2008, -9/+98If you say you are a Maverick you are probably not a Maverick
- newsfully, on 10/03/2008, -1/+84I read your comment as if Samuel L Jackson said it.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -7/+63I felt Biden was speaking directly to intelligent, rational, logical thinking people.
I felt Palin was speaking directly to the lowest common denominator of our society. - alchemizem, on 10/03/2008, -34/+84Amazingly, this seems to have been her worst "mis-speak" of the debate.
Congratulations Governor, you came off as being only 'mildly' retarded. However, we haven't forgotten the 'red-hot' retardedness you boasted in the Couric interview. *****. - bmdavll, on 10/03/2008, -2/+44Someone should tell them the Mavericks never won a championship.
- ProfessorSYM, on 10/03/2008, -2/+36She must have been watching episodes of Family Guy:
Peter (to Lois): "Haha, you said nuclear...it's nucular dummy, the "s" is silent." - AnakSeria, on 10/03/2008, -10/+36More gibberish from Palin.
Does the McCain camp REALLY take us to be such fools and idiots???? - whahaa, on 10/03/2008, -3/+26I'm glad you brought up Tina Fey, I think she's a very talented woman, and I'm a woman too, and a mom, but what's important is what I really want to talk to you and America about, and that's freedom, which John McCain is in favor of, and we'll work hard to enact the tax cuts that let freedom-loving families who sit around kitchen tables have the freedom to find jobs and go karts in this time of crisis. And that's something you can paint flames on, donchaknow.
- Vermea, on 10/03/2008, -0/+23Is there any other way to read it? I mean..honestly.

"The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided."
It's in Article 1. They were discussing the role of the VP in regards to the Senate and the responsibilities thereof. - skabyss, on 10/03/2008, -3/+23mav·er·ick [mav-er-ik, mav-rik] n.

Maybe Palin is a maverick then... - ProfessorSYM, on 10/03/2008, -1/+21Ha ha, good call on Kenan Thompson as Ifill.
- Sogladtobehere, on 10/03/2008, -4/+21I wish it would, but the religious right will forgive anything as long as you are against abortion and gay rights. This fact won't hurt her with her base at all. Hopefully, it will convince one or two independents, but honestly, if you are still undecided in this election, are you really listening?
- chrissku, on 10/03/2008, -11/+28I really thought Palin embarrassed herself last night. She proved to me that she is not ready to be the Vice President of The United States. However, I think she's more than qualified to get her feet wet on a local city council.
- sincerelysarah, on 10/03/2008, -11/+28 She's only had 5 weeks of experience - sheesh! Give the girl a break...
- floridiot2, on 10/03/2008, -0/+15I dare you. I double dare you *****! Say Maverick one more Goddamn time!
- KenSPT, on 10/03/2008, -2/+16The lowest common denominator is what makes or breaks the election.
Remember, the majority of people voting in November probably didn't even watch the debate last night, they were more concerned with who was going to get voted off Survivor. - zedkitty, on 10/03/2008, -10/+23Not only will she expand her vice-presidential powers...she will have to create a new post for her aides....chief flash card carrier. with mccannula whipping her ass all week she makes a flub like this? are you smarter than a 5th grader...the vice-presidential episode!
- Codee, on 10/03/2008, -9/+22"Drill , Baby, Drill"- those flash cards into that Do.
You're so not qualified for VP and definitely not the President of The United States of America.
Sarah Palin could be a 72 year old heartbeat away from being the President. That is simply preposterous. - chubbstar, on 10/03/2008, -10/+23palin is pretty much the best thing to happen to obamas campaign.

- LRE13, on 10/03/2008, -0/+9I'm surprised there isn't anyone talking about how she still seems unsure as to what the VP does. She said she agreed with Cheney in a round about way and do whatever would be needed of her as VP. Then Biden completely blew up her whole world with citing what the constitution says the VP's job is.
- pintomp3, on 10/03/2008, -2/+11she's not a ***** for being ill-prepared for an interview. she's a ***** for wanting to force rape victims to have the babies of their rapists.
- plummerbob, on 10/03/2008, -2/+11Did you watch the debate? Palin and Biden had almost the same answer when they talked about gay rights.
- fzammetti, on 10/03/2008, -2/+11No, you DO NOT give her a pass. If you're running for president or vice-president, you don't EVER get a pass. That's all candidates, all parties, all the time.
We've GOT to start expecting more from our leaders, and it starts with basic intelligence. I don't believe anyone with the ability to think can watch Palin talk and think she's got any basic intelligence at all. Don't tell me her speech at the convention was good... yeah, it was, but reading off a teleprompter doesn't make you intelligent. She was CLEARLY out of her league with freaking Katie Couric! That's why these debates are so important: someone with basic intelligence can answer a question in a... wait for it... intelligent way. Biden can do that. Obama can do that. Even McCain can do that. Palin cannot.
I'm not talking about who's *****, or who's screwing with the facts. They ALL do that to one degree or another. I'm talking about simply being able to answer a question intelligently. She is SO far from being able to do that it's not even funny, it's incredibly sad, and if we elect this woman then shame on every single one of you who votes for her. And yes, I know, you're voting for McCain primarily, but consider... we're talking about a guy who's had health problems for a long time and could drop dead at any moment, and on the other side we're talking about a black man who, it saddens me to say, will be a bigger assassination target than many others for that reason alone. All of this means the VP choice this year necessarily carries more weight than usual. If you for even ONE SECOND believe this woman would be qualified, on the basis of simple intelligence, to run this country, then it is YOU who lacks the basic intelligence, as much as her.
You know, we tried the "everyman" choice. We tried the guy that talked like we talk. We tried the guy who we knew didn't quite have the intelligence but who we thought was straight with us. How did that work out exactly? Bush is the single worst president in the history of this country, and it's hard to argue otherwise. You CANNOT be taken in by her "hockey mom" crap. You HAVE to consider the basic intelligence of the person, and she simply does not cut it, no way, no how. Just because she might be a good date, or a nice person to talk to while watching a game, none of that means she should be running the country, or even potentially be running the country. We simply CANNOT allow this woman anywhere NEAR that position. - pintomp3, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8nah, she would shoot the maverick from a helicopter.
- Jwoey, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9But they did go 11-71 once!
- zwen5680, on 10/03/2008, -3/+11who the ***** is O'Biden? why did she call him that? what a re-re...now I see who her kid takes after
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -3/+11Eagle: Here's what Biden said, "The idea he doesn't realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that's the Executive Branch."
Here's what Article I says: "The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided."
Looks like he was 100% accurate on that point. - wedges, on 10/03/2008, -1/+9are you stupid? they agreed that genocide in Darfur is WRONG. what non-murderer would disagree with that?? then they agreed on Gay Unions. what non-bigot would disagree with that?
- SpinningHead, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8How many people voted for Bush....twice?
- MacBigot, on 10/03/2008, -13/+21Sen. Joe Biden claimed that "we spend more money in three weeks on combat in Iraq than we spent on the entirety of the last seven years that we have been in Afghanistan building that country." The claim is inaccurate.
From:
http://slate.msn.com/blogs/blogs/trailhead/archive ...
"The key word here is building. TO MAKE THE CLAIM WORK, ONE NEEDS TO COMPARE ONLY THE RECONSTRUCTION COSTS IN AFGHANISTAN WITH THE ENTIRE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE BILL FOR IRAQ. According to the most recent Congressional Research Service report on war appropriations, CONGRESS HAS APPROPRIATED $653 BILLION FOR IRAQ AND $172 BILLION IN AFGHANISTAN. (See Page 16. Afghanistan is listed as "OEF" for "Operation Enduring Freedom.") BY THAT COMPARISON, IT WOULD TAKE MORE THAN A YEAR'S WORTH OF IRAQ SPENDING TO EQUAL THE TOTAL COST OF OPERATIONS IN AFGHANISTAN.
"Biden is referring only to rebuilding costs in Afghanistan, which are a small fraction of total spending. THE CLAIM IS A CLASSIC APPLES-TO-ORANGES ANALOGY, and it's unclear exactly where Biden is getting his price for oranges. The same CRS report lists all foreign aid and diplomatic spending in Afghanistan at $12.4 billion on Page 19, which is getting us closer; if we use fiscal year 2008 numbers for Iraq, when combat costs totalled $145 billion, three weeks comes out $8.4 billion. Biden is probably parsing out that $12.4 billion figure even further. This September 2008 CRS report on postwar policy in Afghanistan says that the U.S. Agency for International Development has spent just under $7 billion in the country (See Table 14 on Page 65)." - SpinningHead, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8You dont need facts when you wear cherry red pumps. Ooooooh, shiny.
- inactive, on 10/03/2008, -0/+8heh i noticed that too "senator barack and o'biden!"
- mrbungleface, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7Seriously
I was drinking beer while watching the debate (like a good american) and yah..... Everytime I heard the word maverick come out of her mouth, my one arm had to stop my other arm from throwing my bottle at the tv
I felt empathy and a bit of pitty for her watching the debate... but the more she talked... i just got angrier.... biden should have ripped her a new one - jazzviolin, on 10/03/2008, -1/+8First of all, it's Bosniak, and second of all, the term Bosniak specifically refers to the Muslim ethnic minority group of Bosnians.
The reason she gets hammered is because she's a moron, not because the press is picking on her. - Lucas123, on 10/03/2008, -4/+11I'm dumbfounded by the idiocy of Diggers on this post. You actually call Palin a c***t because she was ill-prepared for an interview with Couric and people Digg you up? She may not be fully prepared right now to be our Commander-in-Chief, but that wouldn’t be any first in our country’s history. And, in what way does that qualify that lowbrow remark?
- Manther, on 10/03/2008, -3/+10PEW PEW PEW!!
- larkwoodgirl, on 10/03/2008, -0/+7She reminded me of Howdy Doody sitting on Buffalo Bob's lab. Everything she had to say was totally rehearsed. She had a ventriloquist talking for her.
