- aim4whirledpeas, on 10/01/2008, -10/+326She sounds like a kid in school who gets called on but hasn't done the reading.
- OceanSpud, on 10/02/2008, -9/+223Couric: Why are you running for Vice President?
Palin: I'll get back to ya - Baconbuyer, on 10/01/2008, -10/+199Wow just wow. Bill Maher had it right: Even stupid people are thinking "Now that's stupid." Worse than Quayle.
- sikalicious1, on 10/01/2008, -14/+186Homegirl, please just step down. How can you change a decision that you were not even aware was made??? Epic moron.
- octopi, on 10/02/2008, -7/+141Did the response after Katie asked for specific cases remind anyone else of Miss Teen South Carolina?
- PHiZ187, on 10/02/2008, -6/+89How about Kelo v. New London, the big Eminent Domain case that happened while you were Govenor in Alaska? That was a case that spoke directly to her job as governor
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelo_v_New_London. - homercles337, on 10/02/2008, -7/+76Ok, this is just ABSURD. For ***** sake how can anyone support this ticket? I noticed the McCain digg/bury brigade was out in full force today. Is it money? Surely all these idiots cant be in the top 1% of wealth owners. They cant be Vets. Surely, they cant be well informed.
- kezia1, on 10/02/2008, -8/+67Really? You can't name a single one besides the most famous one?
You can't even name-drop Brown vs. Board of Education? Just for fun? - ComeOutSwingin, on 10/02/2008, -2/+59pew pew pew
- EetFuk, on 10/02/2008, -4/+59Couric: What supreme court case you disagree with?
Palin: All of them. - adamtopher, on 10/02/2008, -8/+52WOW WOW WOW what can i say.
- Berkana, on 10/02/2008, -3/+46Brown vs. Board of Education overturned Plessy vs. Ferguson, the supreme court case that established the racist segregationist notion of "separate but equal" facilities for blacks. Brown vs. Board of Education was a land-mark victory for the civil rights movement. It would have been a *far bigger disaster* if she were to have mindlessly name-dropped Brown vs. Board of Education as a supreme court decision she disagrees with. (Though if it were done "just for fun", you could just imagine the media circus that would ensue.)
FYI: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_vs._Board_of_Ed ... - splendifferous, on 10/02/2008, -4/+46Did you notice that it never registered with Palin that she had just agreed with Couric on the basis for the ruling on Roe v. Wade (the Constitutional right to privacy)? In effect, contraindicating her own position. Nope, not even a blip on the radar. She really is clueless.
The only question left in the presidential campaign is just how large the margin of victory will be for Obama. - lostarchitect, on 10/02/2008, -5/+47How many Americans are state governors? 50. How many are the Vice President? 1.
- gmasterc, on 10/02/2008, -5/+44Since she is a staunch republican, wherein absolute powers of the Executive are her cup of tea, shouldn't she at least know the most recent ones: Hamdan v. Rumsfeld (one against the Bush Administration) or at least Exxon v. Baker (one that applied directly to Alaska)? Pathetic. Since when is stupidity and ignorance valued over statesmanship and being informed?
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -7/+44Seriously, is this election even a question at this point.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -6/+43You know, this has become a joke. I'm serious. This does not seem real. The whole election seems like some crazy movie. I seriously do not understand how she was even the governor of Alaska. She literally seems like the president of the PTA of her children's school at max. Mayor is a stretch. Being of governor seems to put this lady WAY over her head, but I wouldn't call it a complete mockery. But VICE PRESIDENT?
- lostarchitect, on 10/02/2008, -1/+36Unfortunately, yes.
- pintomp3, on 10/02/2008, -6/+41you are an idiot and you just named two! you are officially more qualified than palin.
- Jwoey, on 10/02/2008, -5/+39How many Americans are running for VP?
- peheimbach, on 10/02/2008, -3/+37Someone else on the boards this evening mentioned the June 2008 case of Exxon Shipping v Baker, which screwed Alaskans out of 80% of the damages they'd expected out of the Exxon Valdez mess.
Personally, I like Miranda v. Arizona. Not only does it concern the home state of her running mate, but she loves bashing Obama for wanting to read terrorist their rights. (She'd have gotten herself in a heap of trouble for mentioning disagreement with this one, but hey, we won't tell her that, eh?)
DEFINITELY two she could've disagreed with ... - Shiftgood, on 10/02/2008, -2/+35the world is laughing at us.
- JenniferInMO, on 10/02/2008, -6/+39Has anyone ever told her what the VP does? She asked that question quite some time ago. I think her handlers need to fill her in on what the VP candidate does and what the VP does before they open the gate and let her out again.
- pennsykid2000, on 10/02/2008, -3/+36Palindrome: Short for “Palin Syndrome”, making statements that are as nonsensical read forwards as backwards.
http://www.therezidue.com/2008/09/sarah-palins-bad ... - apec766, on 10/02/2008, -2/+34People can't find the Iraqs because they don't have maps.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -2/+32In what respect, Katie?
- SpudgeBoy, on 10/02/2008, -1/+29How about EXXON vs BAKER. You know the one that affected the people in the state she is Governor of? You know the ruling she is ON RECORD as disapproving? You know the one that just happened? The one she just issued a statement on July 26 regarding. Here I will remind her what she said:
""I am extremely disappointed with today's decision by the U.S. Supreme Court," Palin said. "While the decision brings some degree of closure to Alaskans suffering from 19 years of litigation and delay, the court gutted the jury's decision on punitive damages.""
http://www.juneauempire.com/stories/062608/sta_295 ... - jjmac, on 10/02/2008, -3/+31Maybe she can't name the case, but she can see it from her desk.
- CMiYC, on 10/02/2008, -0/+23Yes.
People said the same things about Quayle.
People said the same things the first time Bush Jr ran.
People said the same things when Bush Jr ran again.
Notice a pattern? - inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+23I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our children.
- nrvous250gt, on 10/02/2008, -7/+29I'm not voting for Obama. I'm voting against Palin.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -4/+26I dislike Palin so much its not even funny. I would prefer Bush over her, thats how bad it is. Bush might be a bastard, but at least he had some sort of agenda. Palin is nothing but a fleshbot with no opinion of her own and no knowledge of government. I wouldn't vote her to city council, town council, or council of concerned dog owners. She represents so much that is wrong with American government. America is on the decline, thats really scary because that means the counter balance to Russia and China is getting weaker. I assure you despite all the ***** America has done over the decades it is a much better world power compare to Russia and China. There is a good chance she will be President and she wouldn't know what the ***** to do. This is the same office that saw FDR, JFK, honest Abe, George ***** Washington and you want to give the office to her?!?!?!
WAKE THE ***** UP AND STOP TREATING GOVERNMENT LIKE A POPULARITY CONTEST. - yellowfish04, on 10/02/2008, -0/+22Everywhere like such as, yes
- DOCNM, on 10/02/2008, -7/+29Now, I'm convinced that even God is praying for her not to be elected.
- alkajazz, on 10/02/2008, -4/+25WOW Just WOW, how can people support this woman?
- ExSlashdotter, on 10/02/2008, -1/+21such as
- nill0, on 10/02/2008, -4/+23truth hurts?
- thepeacemaker, on 10/02/2008, -3/+22Curious how many she would get right from the new citizenship test that just came out... here are a few sample questions.
1. What does the Constitution do?
2. What do we call the first 10 amendments to the Constitution?
3. Name one branch or part of the government.
4. We elect a U.S. representative for how many years?
5. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
6. How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?
7. When is the last day you can send in federal income tax forms?
8. There were 13 original states. Name three.
9. Who was president during World War I?
10. Name one U.S. territory. - Kidtuf, on 10/02/2008, -4/+23And yet Biden has done damn near 100 interviews since being tapped as the VP nominee, and the FDR gaffe is the best you guys can come up with? Your gal Palin has done a handful and come away from each one with mountains of embarassing tape.
Keep on grasping at those straws though, it'll probably keep you entertained until Hannity and Colmes comes on. - Berkana, on 10/02/2008, -2/+20MOM MOM MOM. That's all she is. She's a hockey mom who is pretending to be a leader. Her primary experience is NOT politics.
- gwoydean, on 10/02/2008, -3/+21Give her a break, she was absent a lot as Governor, even before being picked as VP nominee.
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+181) Greed
2) Fear
3) Unrelenting Stupidity
Everyone who votes for this ticket is motivated by one of those three. - swrostmore, on 10/02/2008, -3/+20Bush v. Gore
- wedges, on 10/02/2008, -2/+19actually, Vets don't think McCain is the right choice. he likes to dick them out of benefits.
- trollick, on 10/02/2008, -0/+17"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some, people out there in our nation don't have maps and, uh, I believe that our, uh, education like such as, uh, South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and, I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., uh, or, uh, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future, for our [children]."
- opensourcer, on 10/02/2008, -0/+17My name is Sarah Palin and I am not smarter than a fifth grader.
- mediaspree, on 10/02/2008, -3/+19In what respect, OceanSpud?
- eir574, on 10/02/2008, -0/+15She had already named that one. She couldn't name another that she disagreed with. There's also a rumor (I'm not sure if it's true) that she was asked in a follow up question if she could name any other cases at all. According to the rumor, she couldn't. Who knows if it's true, though, given that it wasn't aired.
- bedouin, on 10/02/2008, -1/+16She doesn't even sound like someone who bothered to read the Cliff Notes version.
- Brian48216, on 10/02/2008, -1/+15to be fair-
at least he's capable of gaffing with a coherent thought.
Do you have any idea how many times I read her statements and still couldn't figure out what the hell she was trying to say. -
