http://www.projectcensored.org/censored_2008/index ... - ronpaul20008, on 12/27/2007, -5/+23Oh, I got Operation Falcon confused w/ Operation Monarch (http://www.outpost-of-freedom.com/operatio.htm) They have so many secret operations, it's hard to keep track nowadays.. especially since they're supposed to be SECRET, like the no bid contracts, the missing nuclear missles, the missing pallets of money, the CIA cocaine & torture planes & the rapes.
- GafferXL, on 12/27/2007, -25/+43These projects are front page news whenever they happen - Just because this article purports that this is all hush-hush doesn't mean that it's true. The author was able to find the information on the U.S. Marshall's own damn website for one. Secondly, he somehow finds it absolutely asinine that to serve and execute warrants for arrests of 10,000 individuals, you somehow wouldn't need federal and local cooperation. Right - because clearly the feds have an extra 20,000 people lying around for just this purpose, and nothing else. Great logic there.
Furthermore, the article makes the assumption that those rounded up and not charged are somehow incarcerated without being guilty of a crime. Newsflash: Those people who weren't held were often implicated in crimes, but with no evidence found to hold them on, they were let go. That's whats known as standard police work. If John Smith says that he saw Suzie Johnson shoot Jenny Anderson, the police are going to seek, and usually get, a warrant for that gun. If they don't find the gun or sufficient evidence, the suspect is let go.
And lets not even get started on the fact that no one from this entire thing is actually quoted - be it law enforcement or the people arrested. This isn't news - its rampant speculation and unfounded opinion. - MonkeyOverlord, on 12/27/2007, -2/+15Be careful about buying into the hush-hush, conspiracy crap. As I have said before about the talk of a North American Union (http://www.codemonkeyramblings.com/2006/08/oh_yeah ... all of the components are quite open for the public to see. Things that have sweeping effects on how the law works are rarely done in secret because the powers that be can do them in the open.
- noahhoward, on 12/27/2007, -9/+20Oh yeah, real censored, http://www.usdoj.gov/marshals/falcon/ you know how long it took me to find that? 10 seconds.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -4/+12I think the idea is that 1) Its shocking 2) Information about it is easily available and yet 3) it is very much under reported.
Does that sound right? - odigity, on 12/28/2007, -5/+13Six? Hmm.... let's check: http://ronpaul.meetup.com/about/
86290 members in 1409 groups in 1071 cities in 30 countries. I think that's more than six. - whorunbartertwn, on 12/27/2007, -6/+14Dibbs on "WAKE UP FOLKS" battle cry
- humanerror, on 04/03/2008, -5/+13Only six? Well, I'm one.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -2/+10That's so dumb I'm not sure how to respond.
- UnknownTarget, on 12/27/2007, -13/+21Buried for raving over-reacting conspiracy nut. Come back to me when you don't sound like a moronic extremist.
- noahhoward, on 12/27/2007, -2/+8Every SECRET I've ever seen on Digg was a publicly acknowledged program that some Digger hadn't seen and thought was important.
I'd have buried you for bringing up more ***** but your link doesn't work so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. - Groovemaster, on 12/27/2007, -5/+10"The very epitome of all that is laughed at by pseudo-intelligent human beings who hang on every word the corporate-controlled mainstream media feeds them."
- AllnightChemist, on 12/27/2007, -7/+11Operation Falcon and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
- gradivus, on 12/27/2007, -6/+10So why havent I SEEN at least of these detention centers? Or SEEN any pictures of them? The only places like this that I have seen are called JAILS and PRISONS and are in plain sight.
//although the gun grabbing during Katrina is a VERY scary thing - whorunbartertwn, on 12/27/2007, -3/+7Agreed.
I see news items all the time about multi-jurisdictional police operations here in Phoenix. Mesa Police along with DPS officers did this, ATF and FBI teamed up with Phoenix police to do that, Maricopa SD in conjunction with Tempe police did something else, Border Patrol and Chandler police raided whatever drophouse. To think police working together = vast conspiracy police state etc. time to go buy a cabin in the woods and refuse to come out. - inactive, on 12/28/2007, -9/+13Lame for saying "SHOCK TROOPS".
- casek, on 12/28/2007, -0/+4look on the web. several examples at military websites.
you can believe those pictures and articles if you don't want ot listen to alex jones
tell you about them. - digitalhair, on 12/28/2007, -0/+4You know, I hope a lot of you are disagreeing with this because you are intellectually compelled to do so and not because you have an aversion to the fear of something like this turning into a reality. If I had not read NSPD-51 found here http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20 ... and seen how Musharaff was empowered to cancel elections in Pakistan (in his case, without a catastrophic event to justify Marshall Law - instead, some sort of extremist threat characterized by Musharaff himself just before outlawing media coverage), I would be using my gut instinct and my faith in American leadership to evaluate the scenario described in this article and wholly dismiss it with anger and disbelief. Intellectually, however, I can't come up with a logical explanation grounded in a purely economical understanding - one free of the confines of political correctness (see freakonomics, the book @ http://books.google.com/books?id=LkQPOSXMUscC&dq=f ... that explains how the hell we got to where we are, why we're here, and what greater long-term goals might provide the zeitgeist that makes sense of it all. Ask yourself: how the hell have the [[[insert following list here]]] been perceived as isolated events, why do I not know about many of them, and if they are not isolated, what is the greater objective of such an operation...
1. huge nation-fooling lies;
2. the unbelievable "failures" that have occurred due to "negligence";
3. the staged press conferences,
4. the financial cronyism on display,
5. the redefinition of logically sound principles and laws (i.e. laws about torture);
6. the orchestrated media tendency to allow punditry/analysis/opinion/spin/anti-spin more time than meaningful topics/facts/information/investigative facts backed up by web-links/peer-reviewed journals/documentaries/court rulings (it's the information age!!!);
7. the homogenization of ideology in the Justice Department;
8. the willful and unprecedented restructuring of the delicate Checks and Balances system of government (presidential signing statements, failure of the power of the purse, the lack of representative response to the will of the people, the bartering of legislation, the "hearings" into scandals that never result in convictions or JUSTICE - abramoff, abu ghraib, billions of tax dollars "unaccounted for" in Iraq, billions in cash "lost" in Pakistan, the NIE on Iran and the willful war-mongering lies given to justify a possibly NUCLEAR strike on its populace, the destroyed interrogation tapes, the missing RNC and whitehouse email situation that defies the freedom of information act, the "lost" voting records in Ohio, the interference and disenfrachising by the RNC operatives at the 2000 Florida recount and the highly convenient situational irony with Jeb Bush and Kathryn Harris presiding over it, then the questionable Supreme Court *!!!* ruling against Gore despite the fact that half of America saw the undeniable evidence of wrongdoing on TAPE in Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 911) that legally guarantees the self-evident gift of equality our system provides us;
9. the right-wing's brazen politicization of religion, the shock-doctrine (google Naomi Klein) privatization of education (present-day New Orleans, no child left behind act - covered in freakonomics) in order to undermine the role of reason and logic in the public discourse. Drastic cuts in science funding to rob the next generation of the tools necessary to hold elitists in government accountable.
10. the absolute lack of corporate television media and press coverage that has been a social extension of the willful destruction of our SOCIETY'S checks and balances, and the lack of anyone to be suspicious enough to realize that it has been the PRESS that is MORE responsible for our nations endangerment because they've been so intellectually dishonest with themselves, choosing to obey editorial directives while having access to so much more information than you and I, driven by the will to protect their proprieters/careers/income instead of the people that trust them to protect them;
...ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN UNPRECEDENTED, yet the wholesale rejection of this complexly alarmist, fear-causing, possibly untrue but statistically possibly true, abstract, and darkly specific scenario on display in this comment thread gives me the hopeless impression that there are seriously few people trying to make sense of the long-term goals of such politically-invincible-yet-incomprehensibly-"failing"-leadership" that has managed to accomplish so much in such little time under the noses of the very people that provide it with such so much power - POWER fueled by the simple benefit-of-the-doubt that needs absolutely ZERO energy to derive - yet there are SO many that want to dismiss the few that absolutely CARE enough about YOU, that they sacrifice an unmeasurable amount of energy trying to come up with researched theories so they can share them with you in an effort to finally get the TRUTH out. All driven by an absolute hatred for BULLYING so that YOU (!!) can regain the necessary CONTROL (freedom maybe?) to decide what the risks are and what you need to do to protect yourself so that, If it turns out to be true, you'll have a fighting chance to preserve your freedom instead of selling everyone else out and doing your little part to make sure that these despots get exactly what they've been working for over the past 60 years.
It's not self-righteous, insane, or even evil to bring ideas like this to the table...It's CONCERN!!! about our children's future! and our responsibility to protect the treasures of our ancestors legacies and honor their sacrifices! Show some character by taking on the difficult task of having enough suspicion to be driven to find out the truth, because we are once-again faced with the responsibility of doing what's right instead of what's easy, and we WILL prevail... - gibbwake, on 12/28/2007, -2/+6FEMA camps with 1 million family size coffins http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_LSzeQpcTM
- WeaponMit, on 12/28/2007, -2/+6Haven't read the article it could be BS...who knows. However, your statement regarding people not being able to be held without guilt is retarded. What about the 100,000 Japanese Americans that were held in internment camps in WWII with their only crime being the fact that they had Japanese ancestors? Its entirely possible to incarcerate mass numbers of innocent people in times of war, it isn't right, but it is possible.
- Caffeinate, on 12/28/2007, -1/+5I haven't seen any of these detention centers, therefore I doubt their existence. I DID however experience Katrina first hand, so you have me there. For the large portion of the population that did not experience it, let me just advise you that no matter what happens, never give up your ability for self-protection and self-defense. If you have to move to a different area, then move. Giving up your right to protect your property, your family, and yourself is the slippery slope from which our nation will not recover.
- sjbdallas, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5What is often missing in articles about how the government is creating a police-state or he's going to declare martial law, is the fact that millions of people in this country would not stand for it. Think about this: if we don't have enough troops to effectively secure a country that's about the size of Texas, then how do you expect those same troops to effectively secure the entire US? Not only that but how many troops do you think would consider their loyalty to the US rather than a single president and refuse to follow orders that are against the constitution?
These extremist conspiracy lovers seem to believe that all the president has to do is declare martial law and deploy some troops and we're all going to just accept it. If anyone needs to "wake up" it's them. - whorunbartertwn, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5RonPaul2008 the "secret operation" you speak of is on the freakin Marshall's web site at: http://www.usdoj.gov/marshals/falcon/
- Todamont, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5Yeah theres at least thirty Ron Paul group members in my relatively small city...
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5The thing is, Hitler had popular support, the people loved him. Bush is hated, and with no support, a move like that is impossible.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -2/+5Never forget who supported this failure, don't let them distance themselves from him. Whining about Libs and Dems and Clinton and Kerry and gay sex, while offering nothing of substance - and most notably - no defense for the lying little sack of ***** from Texas they shackled us with!
America's enemy is the idiot who IGNORES that Bush lied to us about Iraq, IGNORES that Bush defends treason, IGNORES that Bush was asleep at the wheel on 9/11, IGNORES that Bush had already blundered our war effort in Iraq, IGNORES that Bush still tries to link Iraq and 911, IGNORES that Bush was going to run amok with our Constitution, IGNORES his continued policy that fuels extremist groups and floods intelligence agencies with "false positives" from illegal wiretapping operations—among other things and still voted to re-elect this miserable failure.
The enemy from within has perpetuated this death and devastation. Don't forget it.
It is because of a bush voter that the country is in the atrocious position it is in today. - spyd3rweb, on 12/28/2007, -5/+8Halliburnton detention centers are not new at all, they've been around since the 80's
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -3/+6""This isn't news - its rampant speculation and unfounded opinion.""

Absolute and utter *****!
America builds more prisons than schools
America builds more prisons than ANY OTHER COUNTRY per capita.
America imprisons more of their citizens than ANY OTHER COUNTRY per capita.
the cheeseburger grease is slowing down your braincells. - newinvestor123, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Being anti-Semite and pointing out that the Jewish (Zionist) lobby is very powerful in America are two completely different things. Point out one article in which they implicitly state that Jews are evil, subpar please, before you go making accusations about anti-Semitism and what not.
- weebit, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3One blog somewhere claimed that Bush could be up to tricks for the upcoming election. If he plays his cards right he may be able to stop the election. Not saying it is true, but it is worth thinking about.
Others feel that our elections have gone way downhill and may never return to the people. Media may own the white house big time, but it is clear to me that they do have a presence when it comes to whom is elected.
So Falcon is a big deal, but the one thing i don't get is why wait until the last year in office to throw a major invasion at the people? He has been in office for some time now. Plenty time for him to carry out Falcon, and throw the troops on the streets of America.
The only thing i can figure is maybe there is some truth to the rumors about the upcoming election? We could up kicking out one war monger, just to have another one take his place. So which of the Candidates are more likely to carry a big stick? Or what all needs to happen in order for the election not to take place? How could Bush keep everything he has set forth in place, and leave office and still Americans be subject to Marshal Law, or worse?
all things to consider - newinvestor123, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2By that time, it may be too late to do anything about it. What the naysayers don't seem to understand is that police states have happened in the past, and "it can't happen here" is not a valid argument. If it is indeed happening here, the very people who are accused of the need for "tin foil hats" will be the very people who will see it first. Indeed, if we had a nation of conspiracy theorists, the government would have very few secrets, if any at all. Don't forget: The role of the government is to protect the people's privacy, not the other way around. Conspiracy theorists should be pushed forward, not admonished.
- mabhatter, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2are you kidding, they had a serious problem locking people up after 9/11.. poor communication all around. They most definately have a plan to co-opt local law enforcement as "no questions asked" shock troops to grab whoever they want under DHS orders at a moments notice.
I think a lot of this is like setting up dominos to topple. Some of these rules may be random, some may be good ideas to some problem.. but nobody is looking at the big picture of a disaster waiting to happen. Maybe it's a careful plot by right wingers, maybe it's a series of events that will push a left-winger to search out all the loopholes created. the WORST problem is that when confronted with glaring potential abuses of power, the only answer from Congress or the Pres is "trust us"... that should strike fear into anybody!!! - mabhatter, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3a lot of this stuff is laid out in "directives" added by Bush in signing statements, or in executive agency "rules". It's the growing list of boilerplate things like the feds declaring martial law, conscripting local authorities, building detention centers.. taken one at a time, it's not alarming... but guys like Cheany really seem to have a dark, sneaky side... Bush has started calling-in these back room added clauses on several occasions, even against full congress, that's why the Congress a guy on duty every day now!
Nobody wants to believe somebody would do this on purpose, but SOMEBODY is making damn sure to put the pieces in place for the "perfect storm" of disaster, martial law, survaillance and detention.... The "patriot" act was shot down 4 years in a row because it was clearly unconstitutional.. but given the right provocation Congress passed it without reading it!!! The real trouble is that it's too much work for the guys we elect to watch all this stuff, so they simply don't.. thinking they'll get a choice when the "big question" pops.. there will never be a "big question" it will simply be done. - casek, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2yeah, train yards...sure

- inactive, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2This guy has gone off his medication. Personally, if I KNEW this country was going to become a police state, I'd join the police. Not the band.The only president in our history who ever threw Americans into detention centers was a Democrat -- FDR. In fact, every crime against humanity ever committed by this country can be traced directly to the Democrats. It's why they no longer teach American history in public school.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3This article might be highly exaggerated, but there's no denying that one more 9/11 is all it would take for Americans to completely let go of their freedoms and liberties. As long as you don't interrupt their World of Warcraft and episodes of Lost or The Daily News or their Digg web site, they will submit.
- elipabst, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3That's exactly what I came here to say. Every (including the 9/11 commission) complained about how certain gov't agencies had prior knowledge of terrorist intel that might have prevented 9/11 if only these agencies had some kind of data sharing with each other and with local law enforcement. So they actually implement a solution and now they cry foul. I hate this administration as much if not more than the next guy, but it's ***** like this that gets us labeled as wingnuts/moonbats.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -1/+3Yeah because God knows Hitler was a total 1 in a trillion anomaly, and there is nothing that can be learned from Nazi germany. It's important to note, that the ugly aspects of human nature are completely foreign to America, and as a "Christian" nation, we are so good natured, there is no possibility that anything ugly would ever happen here. It never has and it never will. Our politicians and leaders only have our safety in mind, so it's important for us to just trust them. We should never think about how another civilized democratic republic of good educated people was turned fascist. To acknowledge it's even possible is un-American.
- brownrabbit, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2I apologize. I meant to direct my silence comment to cmoney298.
- noahhoward, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Define a police state without using a dictionary.
- NeptuneZen, on 12/30/2007, -0/+2Bush didn't lie to us about Iraq, he was had links to terrorism and we (and our allies which some people seem to forget) had credible evidence that he was producing WMD's (read might have WMD's not 100% guaranteed). I really hate this treason arguement just because I have no idea what you are talking about. If you want to look for a scapegoat for 9/11 look no further than Clinton, it was his weak security that wound us up in that mess. Then again what could Bush have done even if he had known? The democrats won't let him use racial profiling at the airport after 9/11. And on to 9/11, why are people so confused about this? Its the war on terrorism not the war on al qaeda. Iraq is linked to terrorism because Iraq supported terrorists! Just because he didn't happen to be linked directly to 9/11 doesn't mean he's not involved with other terrorists. Run amok with our constitution? So its alright for the democrats to do that with our second amendment rights, but its not ok for bush to do it with... what ever you are talking about (I was thinking wiretapping at first but then thought maybe you were talking about habeas corpus).
- brownrabbit, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Please silence your emotions and read.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2TIME TO PUT ON OUR HIDDEN NAZI DECODER RINGS
The Hidden Nazi is dishonest and promises how-to information, then delivers a bunch of “You-can-do-it” platitudes instead.
The Hidden Nazis trot out one obscure Babble Point after another in an effort to impress the masses with all the success they are getting. But rarely is a word spoken about when the technique is appropriate or whether it is truly successful. The reader or listener is left with the impression that the technique is appropriate for any and all acquisitions or conflicts.
No bad news? Hidden Nazis have to respond to news like court decisions, legislation, economic trends, and so forth. Of course, some of the news is bad. But the Hidden Nazi invariably respond to bad news in Pollyanna fashion. They always see “opportunity.” The closest they come to acknowledging the unhappy truth is to describe a situation as a “challenge.”
Mistakes will be made in everything. But you rarely hear about mistakes in a comment made by a Hidden Nazi... or hear about it in one of his TV infomercials on Cable news. Everybody makes mistakes. But you rarely read about a Hidden Nazi's mistake or see a correction in a Hidden Nazi newsletter or blog. The Hidden Nazis are self-proclaimedly big on being “positive.” And one of the things they’re positive about is that the dream world they depict will not be marred by unpleasant reality. - casek, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2here's an entrance to one
