- donholl, on 06/18/2008, -1/+17A big thank you to Representative Key for standing up for what is right. The Federal government would if it could usurp all the states making the term States rights obsolete. The people of the state of Oklahoma should be able to make laws to protect its citizens from illegal immigration, it certain the feds will not enforce the laws they have that are nearly identical. I believe 26 states have been holding meetings exploring seceding from the union. If Washington continues its current trend I would support secession and encourage others to do the same.

- 69fezz96, on 06/19/2008, -0/+7Way to go OK, your stance against the NAFTA Superhighway (which doesn't exist if you don't live in a state it runs through) and holding firm against the overstepping Federal Gov is very admirable! On top of that your people are very nice and your economy is booming, making your state one my top choices for relocating.
DTTNWO, LLTR - PowerPaulPayOff, on 06/19/2008, -0/+6Way 2 Go Mr. Key.... We gotta show them, we are not gonna bow to them!!!
- 69fezz96, on 06/19/2008, -0/+4Thats it, nobody else sees what and how big this is? Let me quote a comment on another site:

Now if Uncle Sam fights back by cutting benefits not guaranteed under the Constitution, Farm Loan guarantees, SBA, FHA, ect.
If that happens, Oklahoma ca fight back to end the Income Tax as the money handed out from that collected is not apportioned according to the population. Without an Income Tax Oklahoma would see an incredible prosperity. - marco114, on 06/20/2008, -0/+4I move for a unified 50 state addendum to this Bill.
- rdougherty, on 06/20/2008, -1/+5Where is the digg bury brigade? Oh, that's right, Ron Paul or 9/11 truth were not mentioned in this article.
Well this goes right to the heart of both of those issues anyways.
Go Oklahoma!! - snapplellama, on 06/20/2008, -0/+4This is an amazing step in the right direction. Way to go, Oklahoma!

and verify the information
you were right about hcr 1089 but maybe a little too anxious to post a comment. please do the necessary research to get the right information prior to posting in the future.
we should all rally behind Mr. Key and guys like congressman Wexler in florida and Ron Paul in texas. we need more like them in our state governments. - mriecken, on 06/21/2008, -0/+0Digg me down.
I can't find the actual resolution (yet), but here is the vote record with the correct title. You can find that one here:
http://www.okhouse.gov/51LEG/Leg_Votesxx.aspx?incl ...
Not sure why they have TWO resolutions numbered 1089 for 2008 though - sorry about that. - mriecken, on 06/21/2008, -1/+0I call shenanigans!
Oklahoma resolution 1089 is "A Concurrent Resolution commending the University of Tulsa's Golden Hurricane Men's Basketball Team for their successful 2007-2008 season; and direction distribution"
See it for yourself here: (PDF) http://www.sos.state.ok.us/documents/Legislation/5 ...
You can search for yourself at the OK Secretary of State's web site if you don't believe me:
