- stg3095, on 11/03/2008, -6/+18 "When I was asked earlier about the issue of coal…under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket…even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad, because I’m capping greenhouse gasses, coal power plants, natural gas…you name it…whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, they would have to retro-fit their operations.
That will cost money…they will pass that money on to the consumers. " - Obama - stg3095, on 11/03/2008, -6/+15The Ohio Coal Association, in response to revelations about Barack Obama's extremely hostile position towards coal-fired power plants, issued a statement Monday claiming, "the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America's coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it."
- Eire105, on 11/03/2008, -9/+17Obama wants to shut down ANYTHING and EVERYTHING independent of government. He'll destroy the coal industry in this country.
- SpenderH, on 11/03/2008, -1/+8We're all aware of the dangers of mining, especially coal mining. The miners are most aware of the risks, but they choose to do it for the money because they need the job to take care of their families. Do you want to take away their jobs? All Eighty Thousand jobs in the US? The market can make the decision of how much money coal miners make, and whether or not their jobs should be eliminated. Don't let the Federal Government make their decisions for them. They have rights, including the right to look for other employment if they want a cleaner job.
- tigercap, on 11/03/2008, -3/+10If 0bama had the experience of Palin, he too might be qualified to run as Vice Pres. of the USA.
Oh, except 0bama's "career" is built on a foundation of fraud and wastefulness and conflicts-of-interests. And, Palin actually wants America to prosper. - bornadem, on 11/03/2008, -9/+16The Obama ticket is not supportive of anyone - except communists and money grabbing socialists.
- Gandalff, on 11/03/2008, -5/+11Why are people surprised about this again? This much I do not understand, he stated it with a smile on his face and a wind of righteousness at his back. He does not care about the middle class and never has but his speech writers have written in lines that appear that he does and that's what counts.
He says things like this and the MSM does not pick it up and scream it from the roof tops?? WTF is up with that unless orders were given to suppress the information as he was off script when giving the interview and not controlled by the puppet masters. - desertmaven, on 11/03/2008, -3/+8Plus, I heard the recording in his own words - Obama said that under his administration and his plan for the coal industry, that electricity prices will SKYROCKET!!!
- SpenderH, on 11/03/2008, -3/+8Unfortunately, at some point Americans will have to learn the hard way that Socialism is not the answer. The Founding Fathers knew it and tried to prevent it, but there are too many Americans now who want the government to solve their "problems". I wish we could defeat Obama and be done with it, but Americans will have to endure it for probably 20-30 years before the lesson sinks in.
Capitalism FTW! - inactive, on 11/03/2008, -1/+4Pls explain that to Mike Rowe.

McCain / Palin 2008
( this message was from me and approced by me) - inactive, on 11/04/2008, -0/+2Anyone who supports coal recognizes that it supplies roughly 50% of the energy used in this nation and while ending usage of it in the long term is highly desirable, to eliminate it now is both foolish and a prescription for disaster. Of course, such is in keeping with the rest of the ∅bobblehead idiocy.
- SpenderH, on 11/03/2008, -2/+4McCain is at a serious disadvantage in that he feels he has to be honest and open in his campaign speeches. It must be nice to be in Obama's shoes and be able to say whatever the audience of the day wants to hear.
- drshorty, on 11/04/2008, -0/+1Uh huh. So this guy bought the republican propaganda too. Well, he wasn't obviously very concerned in January either.
Again, explain how this doesn't look like desperate politics. It's like in the middle of a fight with your spouse and they bring up something from months ago when they realize they're wrong, only to get that look... the joker look... - Ayrleig, on 11/03/2008, -4/+4Obama seems to be a kind of a Marxist/fascist hybrid.
Obama: Career Path Toward a Neo-Marxist Presidency
http://investigatingobama.blogspot.com - deduction, on 11/03/2008, -3/+1I think it's amazing that any candidate in this day and age WOULD support coal. Coal has absolutely detrimental health effects and is a ball-and-chain in revolutionizing the American energy industry.
Anyone who supports coal is stuck in the early 1900s. Get a grip. - tjordanchat, on 11/03/2008, -11/+6My Father was a Coal Miner and Died of Lung CANCER
My Father would still be ALIVE if he built wind terbines instead.
CLEANER JOBS is what America NEEDS
AMERICA NEEDS CLEANER JOBS - asgardshill, on 11/03/2008, -13/+3A lump of coal fell off a coal truck and smashed my windshield once. Which means that McCain HATES MIDDLE CLASS WORKING PEOPLE!
(Freaker logic OFF)
