- rosshowell, on 11/11/2009, -0/+5We enjoy a good life which is safe most of the time because there are people who join the military and uphold their oath to America at the cost of their personal sacrifice. They usually risk their life in this mission outside of our country, but political correctness has increased that risk to within the borders of America. Our tolerance of this fantasy rather than confronting it is a failure on our part to protect America from within the border so that we all have a country that is safe from its enemies.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." - John Stewart Mill
That is also true for those who are unwilling to do what it takes to protect America from those who would do us harm at home - Yeeeech, on 11/11/2009, -0/+4Hasan whines about US Muslim soldiers having to kill Afgani or Iraqi Muslim terrorists...but he failed to consider the complexity of the situation........what about all those US, British, Australian Christian soldiers who went to WWII to kill German Christian Nazi soldiers?
- rosshowell, on 11/11/2009, -0/+4I don't know if we want to give him the thought that he gets to be martyred. Might be better to keep him in a prison cell with a picture of the chic with a gun who took him down just out of his reach and looking at him. Too bad NBO doesn't have what it takes to do some enhanced interrorgation
- stompk291, on 11/11/2009, -0/+3not to mention that as a psych, he wasn't going to be killing ANYONE on his deployment. (well, enemy side, anyways).
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 11/11/2009, -0/+2Hasan was quoted as saying that he was a Muslim first, an American second.
- BohicaTwentyTwo, on 11/11/2009, -0/+1I hear Hasan Akbar has been getting lonely up at Leavenworth.
