- VinBea, on 06/28/2008, -6/+13Granted, Dr. James Dobson pushed GW Bush without checking the guy's fruit - and we've been taken to the cleaners as a result of picking the lesser of two evils as did the whole nation!
The whole nation was duped by GW Bush and company (company being the Newt Gingrich Contract /w Americans [the rnc neo-con thing] all being swept into congress, with faux news channel the mouth organ for the whole thing)...
That was then, this is now - and at least Dr. James Dobson tries to get it right in spirit and in truth; and seems to have learned from his mistakes..
Hussein is an arrogant closet follower and worshiper of allah (at the least) - at the most he's also a marxist; and is a fruitcake to top it off - and Hussein is the last thing America needs after consecutive Bush, Clinton, Bush administrations selling America to the highest bitter without regard to oaths they took! - frofisrael, on 06/28/2008, -5/+22Dobson is right. Obama is a dangerous lunatic - a slim, handsome version of Nero, who will whistle a happy tune to himself while America burns in the next terrorist attack, as soon as he gets into the White house. He doesn't even know that Christianity is not Al Sharpton's or Dobson's or anyone else's - it is Christ's and His Word: the Bible.
- notbysight, on 06/28/2008, -5/+14Neo-Christian globalists Obama and Caldwell are compromisingly "men pleasers"....their hilltop Christian beacons are not visible 360 degrees, the beacon can only be seen by the groups they choose to illuminate. Unity and abortion may engender membership and votes but neither man will ever aspire to a Ron Reagan or Dr. James Dobson.
and if Caldwell has any "spiritual" advice for Pres Bush, it ought to be clarifying the words of Jesus to Satan, "man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God"...when Jesus said these words..there was NO New Test yet written or compiled...there was only the Old Test, so "every word" meant OT...and that infers Jesus obeyed and respected .."blessing Israel"...by SUPPORTING Gods gift of land to the patriarchs....NOT carving it up in hopes of peace.
and why does Bush or any other leader need a "spiritual" advisor, is not the Holy Spirit sufficient to lead any believer "into all Truth"..as the Bible states. Just who do Bush and Obama have for a personal spiritual relationship, and how often do they truly read the Word rather than just get Sunday feed.
Jesus also said. "wisdom is known by her offsping(children)"...Aramaic way of saying ..your words and actions(the offsprings of wisdom) reveals your level of wisdom. - these3remain, on 06/28/2008, -5/+19I went to the site mounted by these "brothers in Christ" who have unashamedly bashed James Dobson by their agreement w/ Obama's statements, particularly the one in which he falsely accuses Dobson of making stuff up. It's called Dr.Dobsondoesn'tspeakforme.com or some such wording. I suggest those who disagree with them to click on the "contact us" link on the site and write to them to point out to them that while Dobson may not speak for them, that Obamination doesn't speak for you, either. I've already done so and was issue specific, too. While I've read several articles denouncing the "religious right" regarding their stance on abortion and how it will never, ever be changed using "religious" rhetoric, it still does not justify supporting a candidate who is profoundly pro-death and it is unconscionable for so-called Christian leaders to do so.
- grahamjj, on 06/28/2008, -4/+12Amazing how far you can go when this world's principalities and powers are behind you. Obama's associates are important. His church, and friends influence how he views America. SCARY.
James Hal Cone (Black liberation theology)or Dave Duke(White supremacy) are both racists. Jesus teaches love your enemies, racists teach hatred. Obama has been listening to hatred for 20 yrs. Lord help us if Obama is elected. - jp111, on 06/28/2008, -4/+11Will this be a new low for the country; lower than Clinton's morality administration.........I mean "the most ethical administration in history"?
I think it could be. Anyone notice the Bammi supporters are real scum? I mean real dirt scum? And, as he threw his grandmother and pastor under the bus, he will surely eject anyone that causes him critisism. I think he's already ordered the biggest bus ever made. By the election, his wife won't even be there; another patriot.
Ever notice when he advocates against something and it blows up in his face he always says "AS I HAVE SAID PUBLICALLY SEVERAL TIMES THAT IS WHAT I AGREE WITH"......second amendment, etc. I always thought the Clintons were bad but we need to invent a new word for his type of crap-spew lies.. - Nannybell, on 06/28/2008, -7/+6Liberal religionists peddle a perverted gospel. In their faux *gospel* we find the following false teachings:
-- Scripture is not necessarily reliable, especially the parts that condemn our behaviors.
-- Jesus is not the only way to God.
-- Jesus wants us to save Planet Earth rather than souls.
-- Wholesale abortion is fine.
-- Homosexuality is acceptable to God.
-- Jesus never said anything about hell; and even if it exists, Global Warming is a worse threat.
-- We can pray to a being named Mother Goddess if we prefer a feminine god to a masculine one.
The website in question states the following about James Dobson:
***James Dobson doesn't speak for me when he uses the beliefs of others as a line of attack;...***
Obama seeks a hands-off policy regarding his values and beliefs, just as he wants a hands-off policy toward statements by his wife, although she speaks them in public. Obama's stance seems to be, *I can criticize you, but you can't criticize me.*
***He doesn't speak for me when he denigrates his neighbor's views when they don't line up with his;...***
This is the usual liberal mantra that those who disagree openly with them are evil and divisive for doing so, though somehow they are not evil and divisive when they disagree openly with the beliefs of others. This is also just a continuation of Obama's policy that he can criticize you, but you can't criticize him.
***He doesn't speak for me when he seeks to confine the values of my faith to two or three issues alone;...***
That's a deliberate misstatement. Speaking out on specific issues in no way means those are the only values of one's faith. That's absurd.
***What does speak for me is David's psalm celebrating how good and pleasant it is when we come together in unity***
They of course define *unity* as going along to get along and not disagreeing with them about anything. We are *divisive* when we believe certain issues are important enough to stand our ground on. They stand their ground on issues important to them, but somehow that isn't the same thing.
***The prophet Isaiah speaks for me in his call for all to come and reason together ***
What? It isn't Isaiah speaking those words -- it is God speaking them! Way to go in mishandling Scripture! Here is the actual passage:
Isaiah 1 (from Biblegateway.com)
"Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD,
"Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
"If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;
"But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword "
Truly, the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
Those words are preceded by these words. This is the actual context:
"Alas, sinful nation,
People weighed down with iniquity,
Offspring of evildoers,
Sons who act corruptly!
They have abandoned the LORD,
They have despised the Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away from Him.
Where will you be stricken again,
As you continue in your rebellion?
The whole head is sick
And the whole heart is faint.
From the sole of the foot even to the head
There is nothing sound in it,..."
God invited them to listen to His reasoning that He would heal their sick nation if they would turn back to Him.
***and also to seek justice, encourage the oppressed and to defend the cause of the vulnerable.***
By *oppressed,* they mean homosexuals who are denied the *right* to marry. That's their idea of oppression.
Defend the cause of the vulnerable? Do they mean the murder of the unborn for example? Can anyone be more vulnerable than that?
***The book of Nehemiah speaks for me in its example to work with our neighbors, not against them, to restore what was broken in our communities;***
How exactly is James Dobson working against restoring what is broken in communities? What a load of baloney.
***The book of Matthew speaks for me in saying to bless those that curse you and pray for those who persecute you;***
How exactly does this apply to James Dobson? To bless someone who curses you means to not wish evil upon them in retaliation. When exactly has James Dobson wished evil upon people who have cursed him? And precisely how do they know who James Dobson does or does not pray for? This makes no sense at all.
***The words of the apostle Paul speak for me in saying that words spoken and deeds done without love amount to nothing.***
Standing up for the truth of Scripture, and speaking against those who twist and reject Scripture, is NOT acting in a lack of love. Scripture tells us to *earnestly contend for the faith* and that is exactly what James Dobson does. Doing so is not a lack of love.
***The apostle John speaks for me in reminding us of Jesus' command to love one another. The world will know His disciples by that love.**
Yes, so? Again, earnestly contending for the faith is not a lack of love. Both things are commanded in Scripture, and they are not mutually exclusive. We are to be careful to speak the truth in love, yes; but backing down from speaking the truth is not a Bible principle.
Calculated political hogwash.- heaven5951, on 06/29/2008, -0/+4Excellent.
- JaelsTentPeg, on 06/29/2008, -0/+4MOST EXCELLENT.
Thank you for taking the time to lay this out. Hermeneutics is NOT Obama's strong point. Every time he opens his mouth about the Bible, he esposed to Christians who are knowledgable in the Word of God what an absolute fraud (dare I say, "heretic"?) he is.
Woe to false shepherds.
- kemojr, on 06/28/2008, -5/+7Obama's arguement assumes that Christianilty is inclusive and unifying. That is a bunch of rot. It is not inclusive of persons who are unbelievers or those who practice immorality. It is inclusive of all those who have turned to Christ and received forgiveness for sin.
I understand the need for unity in this country but his arguement mixes the principles of Christianity with those of secularism so that he can sound open-minded and at the same time appeal to Christians and that is called deception. Obama wants us to accept homosexuality and wholesale abortion in the name of compassion. Doing the wrong thing can never be justified in the name of compassion.
- LifeguardMom, on 06/28/2008, -5/+8Excellent posts. That about says it all!
- Christinewjc, on 06/28/2008, -6/+7Obama and his reprobate theology is a perfect example of pseudo-Christians who approach, and use, Christianity on their own terms.
http://talkwisdom.blogspot.com/2008/06/christianit ...
The Cross of Christ offends man's love of sin. Eliminate the necessity of the atonement and you've got an unoffensive form of pseudo-Christian beliefs.- victorypup, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4The cross does indeed offend mans religion.
- DuggDowner, on 06/28/2008, -7/+4Dobson is a scumbag. He blamed 9/11 on America. That's the same thing Reverend Wright did. Dobson is anti-American, and those that follow him also hate America.
- zephyear, on 06/28/2008, -1/+4LOL THEOCRATS
- victorypup, on 06/28/2008, -3/+4Like Kerry in the last shellacking we received, when he sighted John 16:3, (mistakingly of course he thought it was John 3:16). But John 16:3 applies correctly. 16:2 (Jesus said) ".....a time is coming when any one who kills you will think he is doing Gods service, 3,They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me".
Dobson compromised in supporting Bush, he's smarting for it now, and I agree with much of what he says. Bush is a disaster, McAmnesty may well be the same, but America is going to get what they deserve.- chicofaraby, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2it's "cited"
- JaelsTentPeg, on 06/29/2008, -0/+2Yeah, how about Dean when he quoted Job as being in the NT?

- 7sons, on 06/29/2008, -1/+4One of the problems with the electorate is ignorance. Who gets to define what a "Christian" is? Apparently in our society all it takes is darkening the doors of an edifice that purports to be a "church" of Christ. Lets consider for a moment the fruits of the doctrines of NObama's church. Hatred for America as it is, and hatred of "white" people. What does The BOOK that defines the followers of Jesus/Yeshua have to say about that? TOTAL CONDEMNATION of those fruits. Upon closer examination we can clearly see that NObama is much closer to Islam than "christianity". Remember that the bible teaches is that your works define what you are;beliefs dictate actions:see Abraham. I am glad Dr. Dobson realized his error. Any doubters should check out Black Liberation Theology and it's "Father" James Cone. He and his theology have everything in common with "King" Louie of the nation of Islam.
- jmiesel, on 06/30/2008, -1/+0May I suggest that everyone including Caldwell and Dobson read a book I came across recently. The Myth of a Christian Nation, by Gregory A. Boyd. This book settles it for me. I have voted in the past but will no longer participate. Saints, Christiana, if you will, are NOT to participate in the Kingdoms of this age. They are merely Ambassadors. An Ambassador is to represent his kingdom to the kingdom in which he is an Ambassador. He is not to meddle in it. Unfortunately, too many Christians wish to meddle and convert others. The Saints' job is live by example and clearly state or speak as to why Christians/Saints serve another King President or Sovereign. The "converting" is done by the Creator not by the Ambassadors.
The USA has many positive qualities and is a very nice place to live, BUT it is NOT a Christian nation, nor ever was. It may have been more religious than now, but that is all it was. Other books for folks to read are by John Howard Yoder and Jaques Ellul, both authors can be googeld.- DavidHalko, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2I would suggest to you that Christians are to "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's".
In a Representative Government, Christians are asked to vote, so Christians must vote... just like Christians pay taxes because Christians are asked to pay taxes.
Christians are to be "in the world, but not of the world".
Christians work, pay taxes, and vote - just like any other. Christians just don't necessarily do those things the way people "of the world" do those things. - camelseye, on 07/02/2008, -0/+1Salt!

- davidharvey13th, on 06/30/2008, -1/+3We are not to compare the world view points of various men, who claim to love, obey and worship God. Their viewpoints as an individual are insignificant compared to what God has commanded us to do. We are to compare our personal viewpoint of our religion to the Bible directly. So if Obama says, he is for gays, Muslims, or whatever, we must seek to determine if he has complied with the Words of God, not some other man. From what I have read of Obama's stance on GBLTs alone, he is not a Christian and has become apostate, if he ever was a Christian. No earthly man has the power and/or authority, not even a Satan backed One World Government official, to change the Word of God, by doing so they have sided with Satan against God and Jesus.
Claiming to be a Christian places you into the purview censorship of other obedient Christians, for we are to help each other, in as far as none of us is perfect or totally correct, but as a community of believers we are subject to each other. When anyone directly reinterprets the Word of God which would deny what it says specifically, they have erred and it is our duty to correct them or their blood is on our hands, in accordance with Ezekiel 3:17-21. Liberal Christianity is not Christianity at all, it is apostacy Traditional Christianity is not true Apostolic Christianity either as they do not directly compare as many heresies have been added and the salt has lost its flavor. - Tugging, on 06/30/2008, -1/+2We need to stop and carefully define exactly what does the Word of God mean by "Christian"?
So-- who is Christian? Snatching verses out of context in the Bible is not good interpretation
and can lead anywhere.- victorypup, on 06/30/2008, -0/+2They were first called Christians at Antioc, the word denotes, 'to be like Christ', or having been with him.
Many claiming his name today have no concept of who He is or what it means to be a "Christian".- DavidHalko, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2When Jesus was with people who were in the grips of Sin, he called them to repentance.
Accepting Sin and not calling to repentance is not a "Christian" thing to do.
As such, Obama and many in the Democratic Party who claim to be Christians fail to live to Christ's Standard.
- DavidHalko, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2When Jesus was with people who were in the grips of Sin, he called them to repentance.
- victorypup, on 06/30/2008, -0/+2They were first called Christians at Antioc, the word denotes, 'to be like Christ', or having been with him.
- Tugging, on 06/30/2008, -1/+0We use the word Christian often but how does the Word of God define it? Is the the way we use it in agreement with the Bible? Snatching verses out of context from Scripture can make them
seem like whatever you wish it to mean. The Word of God is what's really important. - sexydarin, on 06/30/2008, -4/+1God created everybody with contradictory feelings. Every human has the urge to kill but only a few actually do. Everybody has the urge to hate as well as the urge to love. etc.
- DavidHalko, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2God did not create everybody with evil feelings.
Everything God created was "good" - and now, the inborn nature of "rebellion" or "sin" creates the evil urges to kill, hate, etc.
"The Wages for Sin is Death" - evil is in the heart of a dead person. When one has evil in their hearts, they are destined to die.
It is the individual who must decide what to do with those feelings. Look to Cain as an example: Cain's sacrifice for his Sin was not accepted by God, Cain had evil feelings, and God approached Cain, he told Cain, "sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."
Cain did not feel that his Sin required something to die as a substitute, so he offered plants to God. After God speaking with him, he killed his brother, God dealt with Cain, and Cain was cast out.
The non-Christian gains the power to succeed over Sin by repenting, accepting the substitution of Christ 's death for themselves, then they are free to do good since The Holy Spirit enters and makes them do good.
Once the Christian has accepted Christ's Sacrifice for their own, the issue is following Christ closely, study The Word, pray substantially, and have The Holy Spirit purge people of the remaining evil feelings.
In short, we have contradictory feelings because of Sin, which is rebellion against God. God does not cause rebellion against His Standard, that is a choice of people. Acceptance of God's Sacrifice of His Christ and Obedience to God as His Christ brings diminished contradictory feelings.
- DavidHalko, on 07/02/2008, -0/+2God did not create everybody with evil feelings.
