- swrostmore, on 04/10/2008, -2/+32Hundreds of hours of Wright's sermons have been analyzed under a microscope, and I have yet to see a single quote where Wright expresses any sort of racial supremacist idea. Stupid ideas, sure, but "racist?" Evidence or it didn't happen.
- orangester, on 04/10/2008, -3/+25And Hillary will still somehow find a way to spin this. I mean honestly, I thought we made the writing on the wall large enough already, we want Obama. Take your lying ass back to New York.
- aliengoods, on 04/10/2008, -0/+22Be honest. You were just looking for an excuse to vote against Obama, and his pastor is the closest you could get.
- neognostic, on 04/10/2008, -2/+20I just looked at your profile, are you in therapy? A troother, conservative, God fearing supporter of Alan Keyes?
No wonder most of your comments are "just a little outside" - MoofTheStoof, on 04/10/2008, -2/+13You want to debate "pastors?" Hagee and Paisley are much, much more stupid and horrible than Wright. We're talking orders of magnitude worse. It doesn't matter, though, because Obama's speech on the subject put it to bed for me and most of the rest of the country. Only the people desperate to find a negative spin on him are still grasping for Wright.
- junkwheel, on 04/10/2008, -6/+16To the ***** morons: Obama hits the front page often because most people on Digg like Obama!
I know it's shocking. Democracy on the internet? What's going on! It must be stopped. - zspade, on 04/10/2008, -0/+9I think they should change the name of michael43 to *****.
- zephyear, on 04/10/2008, -1/+10well it says they stood outside city hall and endorsed him, sooo
- mecharabbit, on 04/10/2008, -1/+8State and local officials, bah! What I want to know is who the people at Dunder Mifflin in Scranton are endorsing.
- Acewrap, on 04/10/2008, -2/+9Please don't feed the trolls.
- swrostmore, on 04/10/2008, -0/+7Right, there's the sermons that everybody has been analyzing very carefully...you have the links, and yet you fail to come up with any racist statements...thereby proving my point.
By the way, its a lie that Wright said "Israel is responsible for 9/11." Did you even watch the video you posted? - inactive, on 04/10/2008, -2/+8Believe everything you are told, do you? Like the previous poster said, pull forth the evidence (in context) or it didn't happen.
- motivatedmama, on 04/10/2008, -2/+8Obama stomped Keys in the senate election, and throughout his entire book Keys was the only person he professed an actual enmity for.
- xu1993, on 04/10/2008, -0/+6After she wins PA by a very narrow margin, she willl again shift her attention to the MI and FL delegates that she said would not count back in Jan/Feb.
I can almost hear her now "Until the people of Guam and Puerto Rico have spoken, this election is not over!" - zspade, on 04/10/2008, -1/+7that's right, bury the part of yourselves you're ashamed to admit exists. We all pre-judge a little, and even if we don't mean it to be, race is almost always a factor. We're human and it goes back to tribalism, The trick is using your intelligence to defeat/ignore your instincts.
- wendelgee2, on 04/10/2008, -1/+6we don't? as far as I can tell, that's been all over the news all week.
- tsf5000, on 04/10/2008, -0/+5You know somebody with the username "RepubOperative" is only going to provide the most unbiased and factual information. Well done sir, well done.
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -1/+6You guys keep playing a funny game bringing up this Wright situation like as if you want to go there. It helps Hillary a bit, but McCain has way more wackos behind him. "But he didn't stay in their church for 20 years!" Your right, he just gave speeches at their fake schools, hugged them on stage after knowing what they have said, and even laughed along with the vet the other day who said "You can have your Tiger Woods, we got Senator McCain." (which I don't care how you spin it, that's pretty *****' racist in my book, not to mention stupid, Tiger Woods wins most of the time.) C'mon guys, the republicans are smarter than this, you need to start actually arguing policy. Oh wait, that would be a pretty dumb thing to do also.
- Pherdnut, on 04/11/2008, -0/+5I like the argument that he doesn't need context. Well done GOP commando, well done.
- Fordi, on 04/10/2008, -0/+5You'd be surprised how much local influence the council members have in Philly. Unlike our mayor and other officials, we expect that our councilmembers are well-informed enough to argue our local grievances for us in rational ways. Anna Verna is particularly good at giving that impression.
Trust me: If Verna says Obama, you'll have most of the local dems rooting for Obama. - Gabberwok, on 04/10/2008, -3/+7Everyone's a little bit racist sometimes, doesn't mean we go around committing hate crimes.
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -0/+4if you arent going to participate in the citizen owned elections or government and only want to bitch about it, then kindly shut the hell up so the rest of us who are trying to improve the government, and thereby the entire US, can concentrate.
You will get to reap the rewards, but dont worry.. I am sure you will find something to bitch about anyway. - 471776, on 04/10/2008, -4/+8Haters are still the same old haters.
Can we get even a one story reprieve from all these stupid comments? "I hate Obama." "Obama is racist." "Omg, CFR." "Obama is the new Ron Paul." "He had a communist mentor." "More Obama spam - buried."
Arg!
Nobody is forcing you to read the story. You can turn off US elections news if it irks you that badly. I happen to think that deciding who becomes the next President is somewhat important, more so than a lot of the crap on Digg. So, the man generates a lot of news. It's to be expected. And Digg is a social news site. If you see these stories often, it's because that's what the community wants. - zspade, on 04/10/2008, -2/+6in a race where less than 100 delegates divide the candidates... Yes, yes they can.
- Fordi, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3You forgot your sarcasm tag; keep in mind that there are hard-line neocons here that would fully agree with your statement.
- Pherdnut, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3Worse than Bush? Seriously?
- fluxion, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3is hillary clinton gonna fix my toilet? or mccain wipe my ass for me?
well then! nevermind that obama wouldnt as well, im not voting for them, and you shouldnt either!
but at least on the point of fighting corruption you've displayed some ignorance on some very well-substantiated strengths of Obama.
but never mind me, im just an "Obamabot", not a true political scholar such as yourself. - Fordi, on 04/11/2008, -1/+4PA is a key state; it has over 25% of the remaining delegates, and a blowout here on either side can basically cripple the influence of the remaining contests. Even an even split would be a boon for Obama; it means that the ratio of his delegate advantage to the sum of contested delegates and superdelegates is higher, and Hillary's chances slimmer.
- fluxion, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3see, even bums know what's up
- Fordi, on 04/11/2008, -0/+3Reporting on support for one side or another is misbalanced?
I mean, sure you've only been seeing positive stuff about Obama recently - but past the stupid Rev. Wright thing, there has been no negative. Meanwhile, Hillary's been awash in it. A balanced report does not munge the facts to make two contenders look equal, you know. - inactive, on 04/10/2008, -1/+4SpamOperative showing that not only can he ignore what you are saying, he can insult you too. You aren't convincing anyone posting the same comments over and over again, so you might as well chill out a bit.
- junkwheel, on 04/10/2008, -1/+4It's a way of showing support.
The people involved are in significant positions, usually very well respected by many in the state. - geekee, on 04/10/2008, -1/+4Asking for balanced news is too much to ask for these days I guess. Thanks for setting me straight. Now we only read the news that says what we want to hear. What a joke.
- belfastbiker, on 04/10/2008, -1/+4PA is a key state. Endorsements from it are important.
And people do care, each endorsement adds to the idea that the man from Illinois is a winner who more and more officials are clamoring to back.
Spin it whatever way you want, but endorsements matter. - krellor, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3I wouldn't recognize using the jap acronym out loud, sounds like an ethnic slur.
- Fordi, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3Obama has more political support in PA than Hillary - but only a little more. This is going to be a tight race.
- LeCollectif, on 04/10/2008, -0/+3You know, after everything that's happened I wonder if people who voted for her earlier would change their minds.
- Mejari, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2judging by the -diggs some people haven't seen Avenue Q
- Mejari, on 04/10/2008, -2/+4How many oriental wives have you got?
- Gabberwok, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Everyone's a rittle bit lacist.
- santiago1, on 04/10/2008, -5/+7 So, were you trying to make a point, or just felt like showing how much a moronic douchebag you are?
- Bitgod, on 04/11/2008, -0/+2You know you're a geek when the first thing that pops into your head when you see the headline is "What's Penny Arcade endorsing politicians for?"
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Tool, tool, tool, tool
- nfkiller, on 04/11/2008, -1/+3Yup... O'l Dubya was a coke head drunk who's wife was gonna leave... then he found Jeebus.
- cerberus9090, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Wrong article....
- inactive, on 04/10/2008, -1/+3Kucinich.
- Pherdnut, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1Nobama?
NUH UH! YORR STUPIT' - inactive, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2It'll be the same racist garbage he's left all over digg.
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -0/+1@santiago1= No, I was drawing you, and you alone out. The "licking his nuts" comment was specifically meant for you and nobody else. Since you love him so much, Obama might put you on his staff. As a matter of fact, your title might be "chief of staff for staff licking", and I bet you'd be great at it.
- inactive, on 04/11/2008, -1/+2Just read his comments and you'll see RR for the racist he is.
