- mager, on 08/10/2008, -28/+1124So I guess McCain won't be hearing about it for a while.
- SEJeff, on 08/10/2008, -44/+285Barrack simply gets technology. Has there ever been a canidate as savvy as him? Don't think so.
- campo, on 08/10/2008, -41/+195New media and Barack Obama FTW!
- reallyandrea, on 08/10/2008, -26/+153WOW Even on vacation visiting his grandma, he still makes news. Where has McCain been since Obama's been in Hawaii??
- maj0rm0j0, on 08/11/2008, -15/+128I was just told I would be the 'First to Know'. ¦¬)
- domomike, on 08/11/2008, -13/+124This is a genius grass roots move. He's making it so that people will receive the txts and then show everyone around them and share the news. He's making it so that people hear the news from other people and not from the television. It's genius.
- MikeMitchell, on 08/11/2008, -12/+114terrorist jab perhaps?
- mousers1968, on 08/10/2008, -6/+104That is the beauty of this announcement! Slight little jab.
- tzon, on 08/11/2008, -2/+90SMS: am pckng jhn edwrds. haha. lol. :) no for srious--hlry clntn. haha lol ;) tht btch hated on me. jk cu
- Gerz1219, on 08/11/2008, -4/+88Petulantly shaking his cane?
- dsenman, on 08/11/2008, -4/+87You mean his campaign managers get technology. Barack himself is considered more of an average user - Blackberry, email, the basics. More than McCain can say - but let's not go crazy here.
- domomike, on 08/11/2008, -10/+87Really? That's all you see it as?

- SyntraFTW, on 08/11/2008, -3/+68Hey, John McCain's seen Robocop. Isn't that enough?
- redsoxmb545, on 08/11/2008, -24/+86McCain would never do this.
He probably doesn't even know what a text message is. - Archer007, on 08/11/2008, -1/+58A terrorist fist jab. Using SMS.
- humanerror, on 08/11/2008, -5/+59Spoiler alert:
Joe Liebermann will be the running mate for both candidates. - whirledwideweb, on 08/11/2008, -14/+64Rihanna?
- dagamer34, on 08/11/2008, -0/+48Compared to 90% of the public, I think that more than enough. Business users and politicians are already in that top percentage of people who use technology regularly, simply because they need to. Normal Americans only use technology because they want to.
- Unbeleve, on 08/10/2008, -12/+57Guess i'm going to have to upgrade my StarTac.
- Rolcol, on 08/11/2008, -11/+55dugg for ¦¬)
- DanShapiro, on 08/11/2008, -1/+45I beg to differ. James A. Garfield was a whiz on the telegraph.
- inetiatic, on 08/11/2008, -3/+47If it is Paul, im calling everyone. Ill get a ***** tattoo also.
- DoctorDuckey, on 08/11/2008, -13/+56Wesley Clark FTW!
Clark--intelligent, military background + degree in Economics. - rgodfrey, on 08/10/2008, -31/+73I'm all a-twitter.
- dannydawg5, on 08/11/2008, -12/+51Hope you don't plan on voting McCain because you disagree with one of his votes. John McCain didn't vote on FISA, so we can only speculate.
Obama has faults. None of the candidates are perfect, but I can't think of anything more disastrous than the admitted computer illiterate, 894/899 class rank, and admitted lack of knowledge of economics, John McCain.
I have not heard a speech that made me want to vote for him except that he thinks I should be impressed by his daddy and granddaddy, the admirals. Perhaps they would make decent presidents, but they are not running. - chesstwin, on 08/11/2008, -8/+44Can we vote for the running mate by texting too?
- KingGorilla, on 08/11/2008, -1/+37IDK My bff Kucinich?
- fox1324, on 08/11/2008, -16/+51please for the love of god not hillary.
ill throw a party if its ron paul - lsumed, on 08/10/2008, -26/+60I can digg it.
- kufurex, on 08/11/2008, -3/+37McCain will be doing the same thing, except he'll be sending telegraphs. ;)
- KingHarvest00, on 08/11/2008, -12/+45I see it as a way to cut out the middle-man, and let Barrack have the first say on his running mate as opposed to the media.
- Kanten, on 08/11/2008, -10/+41I'm pulling for Wesley Clark.
- Swil, on 08/11/2008, -5/+32If it'll be a trivia question in 20 years, that puts it head and shoulders above 90% of what hits the Digg front page.
Trivia question in 20 years is quite impressive really. - PhoenixAvatar2, on 08/11/2008, -7/+33#1 He will, this link was posted on Barack's official Digg account
#2 Articles on Digg take hours to reach the front page
#3 The media will be going breaking news crazy as soon as Barack releases the name. - Archer007, on 08/11/2008, -0/+25...but its been burnin' since the world was turnin'...
- jchrome, on 08/11/2008, -0/+25Actually, at this very moment his campaign is distributing stone tablets on the back of a flatbed truck. ;~)
- btschul, on 08/11/2008, -4/+28It wont be. They are political opposites.
- KJSatz, on 08/11/2008, -7/+31mccain

6 + 6 + 4,2 (which equals 6) X 2 -- OH MY GOD MCCAIN IS DOUBLE SATAN! - akchrs, on 08/11/2008, -3/+26What's funny is that most of you will have to get your parents permission to do this first.
- dezholling, on 08/11/2008, -2/+25That would make the Vice Presidential debate in October kind of awkward.
- freehunter, on 08/11/2008, -10/+34I fail to see how it is uninteresting. A presidential candidate is using a fairly new form of communication to get his message across, and both the new forms are lightyears beyond what his opponent can grasp. It shows how in touch he is with the younger generation, how little he relies on the mass media (and by extension, how much he realizes a significant section of his audience relies very little on old media), and it is helpful for people who are not near a TV often or never read the newspaper. This is a broadcast designed to inform people on alternate methods of getting their news. I supposed you don't find TV stations advertising their new digital channels important, nor newspapers advertising their website. It's about breaking the reliance on CNN and Fox News.
- rebotfc, on 08/10/2008, -4/+26I don't care if it is a republican or democrat or neutral, as long it is the right person for the job.
- VibhuC812, on 08/11/2008, -5/+25John McCain, is that you?
- tehWyman, on 08/19/2009, -3/+22A trivia question that I will get correct.
- MavRevMatt, on 08/11/2008, -1/+19True, but even that's better than McCain's campaign managers can say even.
- VacantThoughts, on 08/11/2008, -3/+21Catching up on his sleep
- theOster, on 08/11/2008, -1/+18god she's hot. wait, what?
- heffae, on 08/11/2008, -3/+20I think he's a bit of a nut but Ron Paul, or at least his people, understood how to use the Internet.
