- joshmcconnell, on 10/30/2008, -30/+936Take note that through the course of the 30 minutes, McCain was not mentioned ONCE. Very classy move. He let him, his policies, and his touching stories speak for themselves. Somehow I doubt McCain would have done the same thing...
As a matter of fact, no less than 15 minutes later on the same channel, there was a McCain ad doing nothing but slam Obama for 30 seconds. Quite the contrast. - seans9, on 10/30/2008, -38/+828America: Please don't mess this up.
- mc77, on 10/30/2008, -43/+722Damn, my wife cried through the whole thing. She had PMS. What's my excuse. The retiree putting on the Walmart shirt broke my heart.
- NCRider, on 10/30/2008, -71/+684Wow! Just wow.
Truly inspiring. - amprather, on 10/30/2008, -55/+460Warning!! Get a box of Kleenex out before viewing, because you will need them.
- ejacobwolf, on 10/30/2008, -35/+392"Obama can be your president with only one easy payment of your vote. VOTE NOW! Polling stations are standing by."
but seriously ... go vote. - soulajax, on 10/30/2008, -34/+368I was a strong Ron Paul supporter in the primaries. But when it comes down to stopping the McCain / Palin ticket in their tracks. That takes priority.
Obama is not just the "lesser of the two evils" like in 2004. He will end the war responsibly, help rebuild America's ailing middle class, and greatly help America's image and standing on the world stage.
Obama / Biden '08 FTW!!! - megafan, on 10/30/2008, -33/+357I feel proud to vote for Obama/Biden.
- gnu611, on 10/30/2008, -38/+328He will be president, I know it.
- xrEE, on 10/30/2008, -17/+286I wish I was American so I could participate in voting for Obama he will truly be an outstanding president. Love from the U.K.
- kingofinternet, on 10/30/2008, -25/+290fireside chat 2008?
ladies and gentlemen we are witnessing history. - namaste88, on 10/30/2008, -36/+283Inspirational! He is one man who can bring people together!
- johnnr2, on 10/30/2008, -45/+292Well done!
- brandonchicago, on 10/30/2008, -18/+259Never once mentions McCain or Bush. Keeps it positive and on point. That's the president I want. Bravo.
- BamaMac, on 10/30/2008, -38/+276How could you not vote for him after that message?
- photodiarist, on 10/30/2008, -16/+252Best political advertising I've ever seen. Classy, concise, and downright convincing. If I were American, I'd definitely vote for Obama.
Best of luck from Canada! - JenniferInMO, on 10/30/2008, -40/+270He looked pretty Presidential for an extreme Muslim, Socialist, Communist, Marxist, leftist, community organizing, palling around with terrorist, wealth spreader arounder, uh celebrity.
What a contrast from the nasty, divisive campaign John McCain has waged. We need a President who takes our problems seriously and doesn't put political games first.
Obama will be one of the finest Presidents we have ever had. We will all benefit from his leadership. - Makave22, on 10/30/2008, -22/+235Went out to vote for this guy today, And I don't regret it.
- eliot2000, on 10/30/2008, -26/+220What a brilliant presentation. This will change minds.
I feel like my contributions were well-spent. - Litefrost, on 10/30/2008, -31/+219Game, set, match.
- Selie, on 10/30/2008, -34/+214This reminds me of an Italian saying .. leaders are born not made! No wonder he admires a lot Lincoln.
- algaeturd, on 10/30/2008, -18/+194Amazing. Like some people said...McCain has spent the last three months focusing on Obama. Obama spent those 30 minutes tonight focusing on AMERICANS. BIG difference there. HUGE.
You have one candidate who can't seem to go a single day without trying to sling mud and you have Obama who is too busy telling us how he'll make a difference in the country and for our citizens.
The contrast tonight was painfully stark: McCain represents past mistakes and old ways of thinking; Obama represents change and the future.
In a smarter, more educated country, THIS WOULD NOT EVEN BE A CONTEST.
In America, it's still a horse race. That scares the ***** out of me. Even if Obama wins, there is proof that about half of the country would still rather cling to a past of failed policies and defeats than to move forward.
I can only hope that if McCain wins, they truly suffer the worst of the past that they're literally begging for. - paintgrl, on 10/30/2008, -23/+196I want that America Obama talks about so bad. I have waited so long for it.
Obama/Biden 08 - Daniel591992, on 10/30/2008, -5/+178For crying....... right?
- gail40, on 10/30/2008, -26/+194This was very moving and real. I loved when he talked about his mother. I really got choked up and could feel that he really missed and loved her. Please vote on Nov. 4th. for this man. America do not pass up the opportunity to have him as our President. I know I won't.
- nomonkey, on 10/30/2008, -15/+179The part that hit me like a punch in the gut was during the scene where the old man tells Obama that he was promised a pension of $1500 and ended up with $350 or something.
It was the look on his face when Obama came back strong: "You EARNED that pension. That wasn't a gift, you worked for it!"
The old man kept saying "Thank you.Thank you." - but the look on his face killed me. Poor guy. Made to feel like a failure because his company broke promises to him.
Go Obama. - Rushbo2, on 10/30/2008, -21/+177There is such a positive and magnificent difference between the Obama campaign and McCain's negative, divisive and dishonorable campaign. There should be no difficulty at all in selecting the candidate who best represents America.
Senator McCain, shame on you. Your campaign has been filled with deceit and lies. Disgraceful - America deserves a man far better than you to hold the highest office in the land. - artfuldodga, on 10/30/2008, -36/+188a vote for obama is a vote for change =] ... the good kind of change
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/30/2008, -25/+175I learned something new about Sen. Obama in this tonight:
Obama is Powered By The People.
That is his calm center. That is the source of his ability to walk thru the endless lies and insults. That is his purpose.
Powered By The People. - Shaggy3, on 10/30/2008, -6/+155And no attacks on McCain.
Could you imagine a McCain infomercial? - TrevorPace, on 10/30/2008, -3/+150Really though.
Love,
Canada. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -20/+154Beautiful spot. He made a strong closing case tonight for his election as our 44th President, and I hope it made the difference to a lot of undecided voters.
Afterward, I turned the channel to CNN, and I saw a bitter old man, bankrupt for ideas and sitting in a chair, talking to Larry King about his opponent and domestic terrorists. The contrast between these two men couldn't be more freaking clear at this point.
Please, everybody get out and vote next Tuesday. You don't have a goddamn right in the world to complain unless you exercise this simple, fundamental right that people gave their lives for you to enjoy. - ChristmasPoo, on 10/30/2008, -18/+151This is a wright of passage, one in which we'll be talking about for generations to come. I've never felt more patriotic.
- DubYaSee, on 10/30/2008, -19/+151wow... Barack Obama's Presidency must happen.
- NathanCH, on 10/30/2008, -35/+166I almost cried.
- corteb88, on 10/30/2008, -31/+162Not gonna lie, I shed some tears... very effective. The older couple in the beginning, the woman's fingers... the mother separating the food in the fridge to show their kids how much was left, the soft music...
- coffeebaby, on 10/30/2008, -4/+128yeah i was pretty much done too when i saw the walmart tag *sigh*
- Katzenbach, on 10/30/2008, -21/+145This comercial was just a reminder how much we need this man to preside over our country. Did anyon elese get teary-eyed at parts? GO OBAMA!
- cantignie, on 10/30/2008, -16/+131Though this was mentioned before, it really is worth noting that Obama never mentioned anything about his opponent. For a presidential election, this is nearly unheard of. This man has my vote.
- NegativeDigg, on 10/30/2008, -2/+114Depends on how you like obama. You'll need them anyways...
- diggimag, on 10/30/2008, -11/+114My wife and I became American Citizens last year and we are inspired by Barack. As a country we face many obstacles at this time. It's not useful to try and attribute blame, we need to pull together to push ourselves to new heights. This country is still great because of the way it has continued to evolve and grow and we have some of the best brains and best attitudes in the world so we have every confidence that despite our differences we can bring about extremely positive change.
We are at another critical point in our history and probably the most important action we can take is to vote in the next leader of our country. We are both proud to be Americans at last and very proud to be able to vote for Barack. He has some excellent ideas and I'm sure there are more to come. He has a great partner and some excellent supporters within the existing government. What is very clear to me is that he has the ability to inspire, which means he can get things done. I fully expect that he will partner to the extent possible with those on the other side of the aisle to get things done for the American people. We anticipate great things from him in the coming years. I say let's get on with it and make some history! - supermouse35, on 10/30/2008, -14/+113That was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous.
- KiraDnote, on 10/30/2008, -11/+109McCain is a jerk.
- powermonay, on 10/30/2008, -25/+116Touching and inspirational!
- Sudbuzz, on 10/30/2008, -15/+98No kidding! Lets not mess this one up! This could be our last chance to make the right decision. Republicans will drive this country into the ground for their own benifit.
- powermonay, on 10/30/2008, -1/+80Same here, Canadian.
- Brad324, on 10/30/2008, -24/+103The beauty of this all is that the internet has empowered the people to donate to the candidates they feel passionate about. And many non-intelligent people are still too braindead to know the internet exists.
- castevens, on 10/30/2008, -16/+94I didn't know what to expect with a half-hour long advertisement, but I thought this was wonderful, and perfect.
- kris33, on 10/30/2008, -2/+80That's because the number of ratings are not cached, but the number of views are.
